Chapter 369: Chapter 370: Beat Them Up Directly

Chen Fei stood in the hallway, pondering whether to go in and check the situation when he saw a figure flying out of Song Xiaodong’s office—it was none other than Zhao Dongliang.

This gave Chen Fei quite the scare. Zhao Dongliang’s way of exiting was clearly not of his own volition, and the fact that Song Xiaodong had actually laid hands on someone meant the situation had seriously escalated.

Zhao Dongliang got up and cursed loudly before charging back into Song Xiaodong’s office. He stood over six feet tall and was quite robust. He absolutely considered being kicked out by Song Xiaodong as an accident.

After being hit, there was no way he could swallow this insult, so he rushed back in with the intent to wallop Song Xiaodong.

Unfortunately for him, he entered quickly but came out even faster. Not only did he fly out again, but he also crashed into the hallway wall before coming to a halt, feeling like all his bones might be broken.

"You... you fucking dare to hit me? You actually dare to hit me?" Zhao Dongliang struggled to his feet, pointing at Song Xiaodong, his face full of disbelief.

With his arm around Su Yao’s waist, Song Xiaodong walked out and looked at Zhao Dongliang coldly, saying, "This is the HR department, not your Planning department. Here, no one can bully my HR people!"

"What the hell do you think you are! Ah!"

Zhao Dongliang began to curse, but he was only halfway through when he received a hard slap on the face, which immediately made him cry out in pain and stumble, nearly falling to the ground.

"Didn’t your mother teach you how to speak? Well then, today I’ll teach you. If you dare utter another dirty word, I’ll give you another slap."

Many from the HR department poked their heads out to see. Initially, seeing Song Xiaodong hitting someone, they were all shocked. Zhao Dongliang was infamously untouchable in the company, so Song Xiaodong was in big trouble now.

But hearing what Song Xiaodong said, they all felt their spines straighten, and a sense of satisfaction washed over them.

"Hit me again, I dare you!" Zhao Dongliang furiously pointed at Song Xiaodong and shouted.

"If I hit you, I hit you!" Without any hesitation, Song Xiaodong slapped Zhao Dongliang hard across the face again.

All the onlookers from the HR department instinctively shrank their necks. The sound of the slap was so loud, they all felt pain for Zhao Dongliang.

"You... you..." Zhao Dongliang, clutching his face, was practically beside himself with rage.

"Now, get the hell out of here! And you better not show your face around our HR department again." Song Xiaodong glared fiercely, his voice booming.

Zhao Dongliang shivered uncontrollably, pointing at Song Xiaodong and saying, "Fine! Fine! You’ve got guts, kid. You’ve hit me today, but this isn’t over. I’ll make sure you understand just how miserable an end you’ll come to for crossing me."

Looking at Zhao Dongliang, Song Xiaodong said, "Is that so? Then maybe I should consider making it worth my while beforehand."

Zhao Dongliang immediately took several steps back, then glanced at Song Xiaodong with hatred, covered his cheeks, and quickly headed for the elevator.

"Kid, I’ll remember you. I’ll definitely come back for this debt, a hundredfold."

"Get lost!" Song Xiaodong suddenly shouted.

Zhao Dongliang trembled, his legs gave out, and he ended up sitting on the floor.

The people from HR department were startled at first, then burst into a raucous laughter. When Song Xiaodong shouted at Zhao Dongliang, he was scared to the point of sitting on the floor; it was too pathetic. Any fear of Zhao Dongliang dissipated instantly like smoke and clouds.

Zhao Dongliang had no face to stay there any longer, immediately got up, and rushed into the staircase; he didn’t even take the elevator but ran away with a disheveled look.

"Deputy Manager Song, this... this Zhao Dongliang is not someone to provoke," Chen Fei said to Song Xiaodong with a worried expression on his face.

Song Xiaodong glanced at Chen Fei and then walked straight into the large office, saying loudly, "Dear colleagues, what I want to tell you today is this: our HR department should only manage our own affairs, and no one has the right to come here and point fingers at you!"

One employee asked cautiously, "Deputy Manager Song, what about the higher-ups?"

Song Xiaodong spoke loudly, "Those who can manage us also have to explain the situation to me and Manager Zhao first. You only need to be responsible to us, you don’t have to listen to anyone else, even if it’s the chairman herself—you can still ignore her!"

Everyone was stunned for a moment; although they felt Song Xiaodong’s words were a bit bold, they still started clapping. This was a leader who provided strong support for his subordinates. Working under such a leader was truly fulfilling.

Song Xiaodong turned his head to look at Chen Fei and spoke sternly, "Chen Fei, I know you are a veteran employee and are familiar with the interpersonal relationships within the company, but this is also where your weakness lies. It has made you lose your drive. Remember one thing, even if the sky falls, I will be there to support you. No matter how influential the person is, you tell them to come to me!"

Chen Fei’s face was immediately flushed with shame.

"Alright, everyone get back to work," Song Xiaodong clapped his hands and walked out.

The office immediately erupted into heated discussion. Some worried for Song Xiaodong, others felt triumphant; in any case, at that moment, everyone was filled with fighting spirit.

Back in the office, Song Xiaodong said to Su Yao, "I see your wrist is a bit swollen; let me treat it for you."

Su Yaoyao subconsciously agreed, then followed Song Xiaodong to sit on a sofa. Song Xiaodong had already grabbed her hand and was massaging her wrist.

Su Yao was intently watching Song Xiaodong, her eyes suddenly becoming incredibly complex, reminiscent of the way she looked at him during their high school days.

Song Xiaodong looked up at Su Yao, blinked, and smiled, "Do you really admire me now?"

"Yes!" Su Yao nodded vigorously without hesitation.

Song Xiaodong let out a light chuckle and said, "Does this count as a hero saving the beauty?"

"It does!" Su Yao nodded again without any hesitation.

"Then shouldn’t you offer yourself to me in gratitude?" Song Xiaodong teased offhandedly.

"If you want, I’ll agree," Su Yao answered just as straightforwardly.

Song Xiaodong suddenly coughed dryly and said, "I was joking with you. We’re old classmates, and now you are my secretary. I absolutely will not let anyone bully you."

Su Yao couldn’t help but feel a twinge of disappointment, but she quickly smiled and said, "I know, with an old classmate like you looking out for me, I believe I will definitely rise through the ranks in the company."
