Chapter 325 - 326: Lin Su’er Gets Bullied

Chapter 325: Chapter 326: Lin Su’er Gets Bullied

Song Xiaodong had nothing in particular planned for the afternoon, but a call from He Wenbai had him hurrying to the hospital.

It turned out that He Wenbai actually faintly sensed that he was starting to cultivate some kind of energy, so he urgently wanted Song Xiaodong to check on him.

After an examination, Song Xiaodong was indeed somewhat surprised and said, "Old He, I really didn’t expect this. At your advanced age, to achieve even this much is truly not easy."

He Wenbai was overjoyed and asked excitedly, "Mr. Song, what does this count as?"

Song Xiaodong smiled slightly and replied, "Although this doesn’t yet count as entry-level, you have at least obtained the key to the entry-level. As long as you persist, it’s only a matter of time before you enter."

He Fangbai’s face lit up with joy as he said, "Then... then... does this mean I will be able to heal others like Mr. Song in the future?"

Song Xiaodong shook his head and explained, "Not right now, but I believe in about half a year, you should be able to treat some minor ailments. However, doing so will consume a lot of your energy. As for future achievements, I feel that they will still be limited by the natural aging of your body, so that’s unlikely."

"Being able to match one or two tenths of Mr. Song’s ability would be more than enough for me, I dare not hope for more."

"That’s possible," Song Xiaodong said with a smile, nodding his head.

He Wenbai’s eyes shone with excitement, and he chuckled like a child, as if he were utterly foolish. His medical skill was already quite impressive; if he could reach one or two tenths of Song Xiaodong’s ability, for his medical expertise, that would be a qualitative leap, something he was eagerly anticipating.

After his excitement subsided, He Wenbai hesitated for a moment before saying to Song Xiaodong, "Mr. Song, have you seen Lin Su’er recently?"

"No, why do you ask?" Song Xiaodong looked at He Wenbai hesitantly, wondering why he suddenly mentioned Lin Su’er.

"Mr. Song, Lin Su’er seems to be in trouble. I saw her today, and there was some bruising around her eyes, looking like she had been hit. I asked her about it, but she wouldn’t say."

Song Xiaodong immediately furrowed his brow and said, "Hit? Who hit her and why?"

"I’m not too sure about the details, but... shall I call her in so you two can talk here?"

"Sure!" Song Xiaodong agreed promptly.

He Wenbai quickly made a phone call, and soon Lin Su’er arrived at He Wenbai’s office, but as soon as she saw Song Xiaodong, she gasped softly and quickly covered her left eye with her hand.

He Wenbai tactfully said, "Mr. Song, I’ll step out. Call me if you need anything." Then he walked out and closed the door behind him.

"Brother Dongzi..." Lin Su’er called out timidly, her head lowered.

Song Xiaodong went straight to her and pulled her hand away, only to see that Lin Su’er’s left eye was severely black and blue, clearly worse than what He Wenbai had described. His brow furrowed, he asked, "Who did this to you?"

"I... I..." Lin Su’er bit her lip, but tears involuntarily swirled in her eyes.

Song Xiaodong’s tone softened and he said, "Go on, don’t be afraid. I’ll stand up for you. No matter who hit you, I’ll help you get even. Don’t you believe I have the ability to do so?"

"I..." Lin Su’er bit her lip, then suddenly flung herself into Song Xiaodong’s arms, clinging tightly around his waist, and sobbed aloud.

It was clear that Lin Su’er had suffered a great deal of grievance, which only made Song Xiaodong feel more frustrated inside. He gently patted her shoulder but did not immediately ask what was wrong, choosing instead to let her vent her emotions.

After crying for a while, Lin Su’er let go of Song Xiaodong, straightened up, wiped away her tears, and said softly, "It’s okay, nobody hit me." She avoided eye contact with Song Xiaodong, looking away guiltily.

Song Xiaodong said, "Let’s not talk about that now. Go lie down inside, and I will heal your eyes. Such a pretty girl, but now with panda eyes—I just can’t bear to see it."

"Mm, thank you, Brother Dongzi," Lin Su’er sniffled, obediently following Song Xiaodong into the inner suite.

Having Lin Su’er lie on the bed, Song Xiaodong sat beside her, softly massaging her eyelids with his fingers, feeling genuinely angry inside. A girl like Lin Su’er had obviously been treated terribly, leading Song Xiaodong to even consider the worst possibility—that she had been violated.

If that were true, Song Xiaodong wouldn’t mind seizing the culprit and then killing or crippling him.

After massaging for a while, Lin Su’er fell asleep, which made Song Xiaodong even more sympathetic. As a doctor, he knew all too well that she must have been suffering from severe mental trauma to be sleeping so poorly and be in such a distressed state.

After clearing the bruising around Lin Su’er’s eyes, her eyelids had returned to their normal appearance, and then Song Xiaodong proceeded to gently massage her head, adjusting her body to help her recover.

A whole hour and a half later, Lin Su’er finally opened her eyes, and seeing Song Xiaodong massaging her head, she blushed and said, "Brother Dongzi, I can’t believe I fell asleep."

Softly, Song Xiaodong said, "It’s okay, you’ve been working too hard these past days. A good sleep will do you good."

Lin Su’er’s eyes reddened again, and she said, "Thank you, Brother Dongzi, you’re always the kindest to me."

"Su’er, what happened to you? Can you tell me? Don’t worry, no matter what has happened, Big Brother Song won’t judge you. You are who you are; you won’t change because of some accident."

"Ah..." Lin Su’er appeared stunned.

Song Xiaodong’s expression grew stern, and he said, "Don’t be afraid, Brother Dongzi will avenge you. Tell me, who bullied you?"

Lin Su’er suddenly understood the meaning behind Song Xiaodong’s words. Over the past two days, when she came to the hospital with her eyes looking like that, people had already started guessing, and she had even overheard them.

"Brother Dongzi, it’s not what you’re thinking, I wasn’t... mistreated," she said.

"Then what happened to your eyes?" Song Xiaodong sighed with relief. For a girl, being violated could cause enormous physical and psychological trauma, leading to various mental health issues like depression, psychosis, and even suicide attempts.

"I..." Lin Su’er’s mouth twitched into a wry smile, and then she said, "My dad did this to me."

"Your dad?" Song Xiaodong’s eyes widened instantly, and frowning, he asked, "Why would your dad hit you?"

"Sigh..." Lin Su’er let out a sigh, her lips pursing as she said, "My dad asked me for money. I didn’t have any, and he hit me after getting drunk and angry."

Song Xiaodong frowned. Lin Su’er, such a lovely girl, and her father would hit her? That father must be a real scoundrel.
