Chapter 222: Chapter 222: A Wicked Person Needs a Wicked Grinder

"Trash this kid for me!" Sun Changkui bellowed in fury.

The twenty or so men were about to make their move when Cao Qiuhua, from somewhere unknown, mustered the courage to suddenly shout, "Wait!"

Sun Changkui waved his hand and said, "Cao Qiuhua, what else do you have to say?" Sun Changkui felt that the three people inside were now like fish on a chopping board, ready for him to cut as he pleased, so he wasn’t in a rush to deal with the trio.

Cao Qiuhua clenched her fists and knelt down with a thud, saying, "Village Chief Sun, this is all my fault. Once I marry into your family, you can command me to do any labor, and I will agree. Please, I’m begging you to let them go."

Sun Changkui sneered, "Not only did this kid disregard me, but he also dared to injure Xiao Long in front of so many people. Do you think I would let them go just because of your word?"

Sun Xiaolong, clutching his cheek, roared angrily, "You better not get in the way here. I don’t care if you’re my brother’s wife or not, if you keep squealing, I’ll hit you too."

Cao Qiuhua cried out, "No, no, I beg you, please let them go. I’ll make sure they leave right away."

Sun Xiaolong, grinding his teeth, said, "You want to leave, fine, but as I said, leave this woman for me to marry. As for this kid, we’re going to break his legs and then throw him out."

Song Xiaodong reached out to pull Cao Qiuhua up, saying, "Talking sense with scum like this is useless."

Sun Changkui laughed heartily, "Exactly, in my place, whatever I say goes. I am the law, I am the reasoning."

"In my place..." Song Xiaodong sneered, "a hard fist is the reasoning."

Sun Changkui barked, "Alright, lad, then I really want to see how hard your fists are. Get him, break his legs first for me."

But before his men could lay a hand on him, Song Xiaodong had already suddenly dashed into the crowd, throwing the first punch.

To Song Xiaodong, these men posed no real threat, but with Song Xiaoru there, he couldn’t allow her to be hurt even a little, so the simplest method was to take these men down as quickly as possible, making sure they no longer had the ability to harm Song Xiaoru.

Amidst a chorus of screams, several men were instantly sent flying by Song Xiaodong’s strikes, and his moves were merciless. The thugs of a village tyrant surely weren’t good people, and after crashing to the ground, aside from yelling in pain, they no longer had the strength to stand up again.

Watching Song Xiaodong tear through the crowd like a tiger through sheep, with each person dropping to the ground, Cao Qiuhua’s eyes widened, her mouth agape enough to fit a whole egg. Was this a movie scene? Could there really be someone in this world who could fight a group alone?

It wasn’t just Cao Qiuhua; everyone there had the same thought, scarcely believing what they were seeing. Then in an instant, they understood why he dared to stand up to Sun Changkui—he truly had the skills.

Song Xiaoru watched Song Xiaodong without blinking, her feelings a mix of nervousness and concern. Even though she knew Song Xiaodong was a good fighter, concern overrode reason, and she feared any mishap might befall him, with her heart racing up to her throat.

Sun Dongkui and Sun Xiaolong also had their eyes wide open, but they were becoming increasingly frustrated. In their own home, with so many to assist them, if Song Xiaodong still managed to best them, they’d have no face left to show afterward.

"Grab your weapons and beat him to death!" Sun Dongkui bellowed angrily.

Those who had not yet gotten involved immediately rushed into the yard, and soon each had picked up a weapon—be it a wine bottle, an iron bar, or just a chair. Given Xiaodong’s ferocity, they all felt vulnerable without something in their hands.

At that moment, Xiaodong merely flashed a reassuring smile at Xiaoru, signaling her to be at ease, before once again charging into the fray.

Xiaoru clenched her fists so tightly that her fingernails dug into her palms without her noticing. She was extremely nervous; this wasn’t a bare-handed fight. Even a slight mistake could cause serious injury to Xiaodong.

Her worries didn’t last long, however, as within a minute or two, the scene had quieted down. In the center, Xiaodong was the only one standing, with almost all of his attackers lying on the ground. A few who hadn’t fallen were keeping their distance, too scared to approach him after witnessing his prowess.

Xiaoru finally felt a weight lifted from her chest, yet her legs went weak and she nearly fell, if not for Qiuhua, who was standing by her side, quickly steadying her.

"You..." Village Chief Sun’s face was ashen, not just with anger, but with a thick sense of fear. He had never before encountered such a fearsome person.

Xiaodong looked coldly at Village Chief Sun and said, "Now, when I say she won’t marry, is that okay?"

Village Chief Sun’s lips quivered, and he instinctively stepped back, saying in a deep voice, "Young man, don’t go too far."

"Too far?" Xiaodong suddenly stepped forward and slapped Village Chief Sun across the face, "You, as the village chief, do not work for the people’s welfare and even force women to marry your imbecilic son. Do you even know the meaning of ’too far’?"

"You... You dare to hit me?" Village Chief Sun, covering his face, was on the verge of throwing his life away in a fight with Xiaodong.

"Slap!" Xiaodong raised his hand and delivered another slap, barking, "You incite your son to commit violence and oppress the common folk. Doesn’t a village chief like you deserve to be hit?"

"You..." Village Chief Sun took another step back, his cheeks swollen and his eyes bloodshot, wishing he could tear Xiaodong to pieces.

Xiaodong crossed his hands behind his back and looked at Village Chief Sun, saying slowly, "Do you feel aggrieved inside? Do you think that even if I can fight, you still have a hundred ways to kill me?"

Village Chief Sun’s skin twitched, clearly hit by Xiaodong’s words. Grinding his teeth, he said, "Young man, you understand perfectly. I, Village Chief Sun, have never suffered such a loss. If I don’t get my revenge, I swear I am no man."

Xiaodong sneered and replied, "In that case, you might as well stop being human."

Having said that, Xiaodong then turned his gaze to Sun Xiaolong, who involuntarily shivered and stuttered, "You... What do you want to do?"

Suddenly, a smile appeared on Xiaodong’s face, a smile that caused both Village Chief Sun and Sun Xiaolong to feel their hearts throb with fear, and cold sweat to break out on their backs. Somehow Xiaodong’s smile seemed even more terrifying than his anger.
