Chapter 203: Chapter 203: Can This Be Used Too? (7th Update)
"This gentleman possesses our karaoke hall’s Supreme Card. With this card, he can be on the list," the waiter pointed to the card in Song Xiaodong’s wallet.
"Supreme Card?" Everyone was staring at Song Xiaodong’s card.
Song Xiaodong’s face darkened instantly. He hadn’t paid attention to this earlier, otherwise he would have put away the card much sooner.
Miao Qingqing was also stunned for a moment. She knew the karaoke hall’s owner, Chen Zixu. He was no ordinary person and had quite a reputation in the underworld. And Song Xiaodong had a Supreme Card from his karaoke hall, moreover a listed one; she couldn’t wrap her head around what their relationship could be.
By the time Song Xiaodong thought about putting it away, it was too late. Cui Sijiao had already snatched the card and examined it, then she said to the waiter, "Are you sure? Is this really your store’s Supreme Card?"
The waiter nodded and said, "I’m sure. We’ve all undergone special training to recognize these cards immediately; otherwise, offending a customer is something we cannot afford."
"Check it again, is this really the Supreme Card?" Cui Sijiao handed the card back to the waiter.
The waiter quickly received it with both hands, took another careful look, and said, "This is definitely our store’s Supreme Card."
"This can’t be a fake, can it?" Cui Sijiao asked again because she just couldn’t believe that Song Xiaodong could own such a card.
The waiter smiled slightly, quite confidently saying, "Madam, while other shop’s cards might be replicated, our shop’s cards, especially the Supreme Card, are absolutely not something anyone would dare to counterfeit."
Zhou Peng nodded and said, "Exactly, Director Chen is quite a powerful figure in the underworld. Coming here to replicate their Supreme Card would be tantamount to seeking death."
"Damn! Song Xiaodong, where did you get this card from? Don’t tell me it’s actually yours," Wang Yuming’s eyes widened as he stared at Song Xiaodong.
The others were also staring intently at him while the waiter, now realizing whose card it was, hurriedly said respectfully, "Sir, although this card exempts the bill, I still need to go to the front desk to swipe it. Would that be okay?"
"Go ahead, go ahead," Song Xiaodong could only respond with a wry smile and a shake of his head.
The waiter hurried out, but everyone’s gaze still fixed on Song Xiaodong.
"Don’t look at me like that," Song Xiaodong grimaced, but his words didn’t elicit any response from the crowd. He could only chuckle and say, "If I say this card is mine, would you believe me?"
Everyone was stunned for a moment, then uniformly shook their heads.
Song Xiaodong suddenly perked up and immediately said, "This card is indeed mine now, but I found it."
"Oh..." Everyone suddenly realized it all and collectively sighed with relief, relaxing. If the card were truly Song Xiaodong’s, they would have been utterly dumbfounded, but saying it was found completely made sense.
Miao Qingqing almost chuckled out loud, not because Song Xiaodong’s lie was particularly amusing, but because the reactions of these people were comical. They preferred to believe Song Xiaodong’s lie over the possibility that the card was genuinely his.
Cui Sijiao suddenly exclaimed, saying, "Oh no, that’s bad. Since the card was found, could it possibly lead to some trouble?"
Everyone’s faces changed instantly, and Wang Yuming chimed in, "Yeah, yeah, these people are not to be trifled with. We all came together, and it might implicate us too."
Upon hearing this, Song Xiaodong hurriedly said, "Then you guys should leave quickly. I’ll handle this myself."
People wanted to leave right then. Zhou Peng didn’t want to leave, but leaving at that moment would look bad. He chuckled awkwardly and said, "We don’t need to be this scared, let’s just explain it to them and I’ll settle the bill—I do have a Platinum Card, after all. They’ll give us some face because of that."
"Let’s head to the front desk then. If something really does happen, we’d better..." Wang Yuming didn’t have the heart to finish the word "run."
This suggestion was immediately accepted by everyone. They quickly walked out and cautiously approached the front desk, with several people even positioning themselves right at the hallway entrance, ready to make a quick escape.
Watching these people, Miao Qingqing couldn’t help but feel a mix of amusement and pity, but she also understood that for ordinary people, a guy like Chen Zixu was a nightmare—if he set his sights on you, you might not die but you’d certainly be skinned.
Inside, the waiter was swiping Song Xiaodong’s Supreme Card. Zhou Peng hurriedly said, "Let’s not use this Supreme Card, use mine instead."
The puzzled waiter looked at Zhou Peng and said, "Sir, having our Supreme Card means you are the most honored guest here, why would we take money from you?"
Zhou Peng coughed awkwardly and started to explain, "This card is..."
"All done with the payment, and thank you for your patronage," the waiter interrupted as he handed the card back.
Zhou Peng’s next words were swallowed back down his throat as the waiter respectfully handed the card back to Song Xiaodong and escorted everyone out of the karaoke hall.
"Damn! It actually worked, I thought we were going to get a beating for sure," a guy said, relieved.
"Yeah, I was so scared just now. I didn’t expect a found Supreme Card to actually cover the bill."
The group was still somewhat frightened, dreading that the karaoke staff might come after them, so they quickly hailed taxis and hurriedly left.
Su Yao then sternly said to Song Xiaodong, "You better not use this card anymore. If they ever find out, none of us can help you."
Song Xiaodong nodded repeatedly and said, "Yes, yes, sorry for the trouble. I won’t use it anymore."
Zhou Peng and Su Yao also boarded a taxi, and soon only Song Xiaodong and Miao Qingqing were left.
Miao Qingqing gave Song Xiaodong a look and then burst out laughing, saying, "Why didn’t you just admit the card was yours? Look how scared you made your classmates."
Song Xiaodong chuckled lightly and said, "Do you think they would have believed me if I said it was mine?"
"They definitely wouldn’t have," Miao Qingqing thought for a moment and then couldn’t help but smirk.
"Alright, it’s getting late. I’ll take you home," Song Xiaodong also hailed a taxi.
Soon after, Song Xiaodong dropped Miao Qingqing off at her home. Miao Qingyuan and Miao Xuanxuan were actually sitting in the living room. Just as Song Xiaodong was about to leave, Miao Qingyuan said sternly, "Song Xiaodong, come in and let’s have a chat."
