Song Xiaodong took only a few quick strides before he had rushed into the bedroom, laying Song Xiaoru directly on the bed. Song Xiaoru immediately pulled a thin quilt over herself.

Song Xiaodong had already seen Song Xiaoru bare, but his mind was solely focused on the wound on her leg, not dwelling on how attractive Song Xiaoru’s body was. "You... This is just worry clouding your judgment. How could we possibly have snakes in our house? I’ve never encountered one before!" Mentioning snakes made Song Xiaoru’s heart race with fear.

Song Xiaodong shook his head and said, "I can’t really explain this either, but our place is a bit messy right now, there might be mice around, which could have attracted the snake."

"I haven’t even finished my bath yet," Song Xiaoru said with a wry smile.

"How about I fetch some water and help you wipe down?"

"No, no, that was fine when we were young. Now we’re grown up, how can we still behave like that? Off you go, fetch some water for me, then get out. I don’t dare to bathe there today."

As Song Xiaoru requested, Song Xiaodong fetched the water, then stepped out of the room and called from outside the window, "Sister, I think we should move to the Xin family’s place sooner rather than later."

I’ll update three Chapters today since I need to properly plan the storyline. It’s not difficult to write, but building the story framework and developing engaging plots is truly challenging!
