Return of the King, Dominating the City
Chapter 95 - 95 94 Submission or Annihilation

95: Chapter 94: Submission or Annihilation 95: Chapter 94: Submission or Annihilation “You really want to finish off the remaining four clans, you Old Dog?” Yun Gu yelled hoarsely.

“Fuck off if you don’t understand the rules, don’t loiter on my territory.

You irk the hell out of me.”

“Fine, fine, fine, Yun Gu, you really live up to being the leader of the thief clan.

Just because of what you said, our Heaven Sect will be at odds with your thief clan,” Xie Laogou declared fiercely, glaring at Yun Gu.

“Hey, hey, hey, no need to be so angry, everyone.

We’re all getting on in years; what if you can’t catch your breath and kick the bucket?

It’d be much nicer to sit down, have some tea, and chat,” an elderly man with kind eyebrows and good-natured eyes stepped forward, speaking in gentle persuasion.

“Ha!

Gong Xizi, don’t play the good guy here.

Who doesn’t know that your ancestors were involved in the skin trade?

Granted, our Heaven Sect digs up people’s ancestral graves, but that’s the dead.

Unlike you in the acting clan, who think about skinning people alive every single day,” Xie Laogou said contemptuously.

“Yeah, we in the acting clan only deal with petty trades.

Unlike your Heaven Sect, who gets set for several years after pulling off one big job, and aren’t afraid of biting their own tongues one day,” Gong Xizi retorted with a cold sneer, giving Xie Laogou a sidelong glance.

Hearing this, Xie Laogou felt a surge of anger and cursed, “You’re nothing but a low-life actor, a scum both on stage and off.

If you keep prattling to me, believe it or not, I’ll take a shovel and chop your damn head off.”

“Enough, let’s stop arguing.

With outsiders present, do we have no pride?

The old Taoist needs to save face,” an elder with long eyebrows stepped forward to speak.

Strangely enough, the two who had been raging at each other moments ago suddenly lost their tempers, shooting each other a glare but saying no more.

“To this young friend, how about we call it quits for today?

The four of us old men will give you face; how about you return the favor?”

Facing the old man, Song Yun burst out laughing, “Are you the chief of the Suan Sect?

Is it part of the planning from the Taoist Sect branch?”

The old man paused upon hearing this and then said with a frown, “Young friend, you wouldn’t happen to know some secret of this old man, would you?”

“Don’t be so nervous; one of my brothers is a direct disciple of Wu Gou Taoist of Wudang’s Yimei Dao.

Seeing his colleagues today, I couldn’t help but step out and ask,” Song Yun responded with a smile.

“You actually know my uncle?” the old man exclaimed in surprise.

“You mean Wu Gou Taoist?

Indeed, he and I are acquaintances.

Since we’re family, why don’t you come in for a cup of tea,” invited Song Yun.

“Otherwise, people might say I’m inhospitable.”

The old man nodded and entered the private room, with Xie Laogou and Gong Xizi following, although the animosity between them seemed even thicker.

Yun Gu sighed, “Could it be that you intend to wipe out all four of our clans today?”

“Don’t put it so nastily.

It’s merely about finding a new way forward for everyone,” Song Yun said jokingly.

Upon entering the teahouse, Song Yun picked up the teapot, poured tea for each person, and said, “I’m not here today for any other reason but to ask for an item.

Would you honor me by granting this request?”

Xie Laogou, seeing that Song Yun was no ordinary person, deemed it best not to provoke him and huffed, “If it’s antiques you want, just come and take your pick from my shop.”

“No, no, no, what I want is for your four clans to submit to me,” Song Yun maintained his casual smile as he spoke.

These words shocked the room.

Xie Laogou’s face twitched, and he almost shouted, “I knew from first glance you were no good, hmm, and now you’ve finally shown your true colors.

Has Old Dog Yun already become your watchdog?”

“After all these years, you still can’t spit anything nice out of that dog’s mouth of yours.

Would I casually hand over my ancestors’ legacy with both hands?” said Yun Gu.

“Let’s not argue for now; I already know of the past mistakes of your Old Nine Gates, and I’ve been dispatched by the government specifically to handle this matter.

Not to hide anything from you, I have the power of life and death over your four clans, so consider carefully before you speak,” Song Yun stated.

Using the national authority this way wasn’t quite proper, and his words were mostly bluster, but the opportunity was too tempting to resist.

If he couldn’t make it his own, then he wasn’t inclined to simply eradicate them.

“You think whatever you say goes?

Identify yourself,” Gong Xizi said frostily.

Song Yun took out his National Security Bureau Special Action Department credentials and threw them onto the table, asserting, “With this, I could have you all arrested right now.”

The elder from Suan Sect had been silent since entering but seeing Song Yun’s credentials, he finally spoke up, “Given its current state of decay, you surely can’t be interested in our clan’s assets, young man?”

“That’s right, salvation for your existing assets doesn’t catch my eye, but you have expertise – you’re like high-level technicians.

Right now, I’m short on capable people, so it’s up to you whether you want to submit or be wiped out,” replied Song Yun.

“Just with that, you’re not convincing us four.

If you’ve got any other ace up your sleeve, show it,” the old man stated, frowning.

“Oh, there’s this too.” Song Yun pulled out a bead from his pocket, previously entrusted to him by Li Tang.

This bead had great significance; given to Li Tang upon descending the mountain by the real head of his sect, with this Purple Gold Pearl, Li Tang could either start his own lineage or establish his own sect.

Li Tang preferred not to go independent, so he left it with Song Yun, who kept it as a talisman against evil.

“Don’t tell me you don’t know the significance of this bead,” queried Song Yun.

The old man naturally remembered; though they were a branch of the Taoist Sect, all the sect’s powers still applied to them, and the Purple Gold Pearl signified not only the authority to establish a sect but also had the deeper capability of commanding the entire Taoist Sect.

Noncompliance meant dishonoring and exterminating ancestors.

“I, Yushu Taoist, am willing to offer my services to you,” the old man rose and bowed, sighing resignedly.

“One has submitted; there are three more,” Song Yun said with a light smile.

“Yushu, have you lost your mind?

You’re actually submitting to this young upstart?” Xie Laogou stood and bellowed.

“Our Old Nine Gates, although merely a shadow of its former self, are still grander than a horse.

You’ve pushed us all down the path of doom with this move.”

Yushu Taoist felt bitter like he had swallowed a bitter herb – what could he do when the young man held the Purple Gold Pearl, the order over all Taoist Sects, in his hands?

He hadn’t expected Wu Gou Taoist, the sect’s leader, to actually allow this youth to possess it.

“Cut the crap; do you want to submit or die, make your choice,” Song Yun said impatiently.

Gong Xizi drank up his tea, stood up and said, “Count me in, but you have to guarantee the safety of my acting clan.”

“Once you’ve submitted to me, you’re family.

I have no habit of spilling the blood of my own,” said Song Yun, bending one more of his extended four fingers.

“Two have submitted; two more to go.”

“I advise you both, no amount of resistance will help.

The Old Nine Gates have reduced to four after infighting, and now with two leaving, we’re down to two.

Who knows, I might wipe you out completely in a fit of rage today,” threatened Song Yun.
