89: Chapter 88: Attempt to Steal a Bag Turns into Getting Stolen From 89: Chapter 88: Attempt to Steal a Bag Turns into Getting Stolen From As Song Yun and Mr.
Li were discussing future developments, Song Yun answered a phone call and said, “What’s up, Qingluan?
What’s going on?”
From the other end of the phone, Qingluan said apologetically, “Xiaoqing and Sister Shishi told me they’re hungry, so they want to head to the food street.
Do you want to come?”
Food street?
Song Yun paused then replied, “Wait for me at the street corner, I’ll be right there.”
After hanging up the phone, before Song Yun could say anything, Mr.
Li waved his hands at him and gave him a peculiar look.
Song Yun smiled bitterly, knowing Mr.
Li had misunderstood, but he didn’t explain and just drove toward the food street.
There, he saw a busty beauty in a tracksuit chattering away, joyfully eating skewers in one hand and ice cream in the other.
Who else could it be but Qingluan?
He walked over, knocked on Qingluan’s head, and joked, “All you do is eat.
If you get fat, see who’ll want you then.”
“The fat from what I eat will store right here,” she responded, sticking out her full chest proudly.
“Senior Brother Song, you’ve made it!
Sister Shishi was just saying it might take you a while,” Xiao Qing said with a smile.
“Well, knowing there were good eats here, I just ran every red light to get here,” Song Yun replied sheepishly.
“But why did you think of coming to the food street to eat?
It’s not exactly close to home.”
“We were originally planning to take Qingluan out for a fun day, and just picked a random place when we got hungry,” Li Shishi said helplessly.
“We were supposed to go to the Outer Sea this afternoon, and now we don’t have time.”
“Those plans can be put off a bit later; the important thing is to fill our stomachs,” Qingluan mumbled through a mouthful of skewer.
The group of four chatted and laughed as they walked through the food street, trying some local delicacies like lotus seed soup, hot and sour soup, grilled beef tendon, and dumplings.
Soon, their stomachs were bursting with all the mixed treats.
“I can’t eat anymore,” Li Shishi said, holding a cotton candy that looked like a giant white cudgel.
Did that cotton candy vendor make it so big just because she was pretty?
Song Yun looked down at his own cotton candy stick, thin as a reed, and sighed.
“Look over there, that big bear is so cute!” Qingluan pointed at a bear on a stall ahead.
Song Yun glanced briefly at Qingluan’s chest and thought to himself, “With your own ‘bears’ already so adorable, you still fancy another bear?
That’s just unfair.”
But a beauty’s request is a command, especially when it comes from a heavy-hitter like Qingluan.
Since she thought the bear was cute, he decided to buy it for her.
Approaching the stall with the big bears, Song Yun asked, “Boss, how much for this big chest…
I mean, this big bear?”
The vendor, a man in his forties, glanced at the three beauties following behind and said, “This bear isn’t for sale.
This stall is for playing games.
If you break all the balloons on that wall, we’ll give you this cute big bear for free.”
The vendor chuckled to himself, thinking he’d found an easy mark to cover his drink money for the night.
Song Yun, seeing the greed in the vendor’s eyes, knew the guy saw him as a cash cow.
But who would really end up the winner was yet to be seen.
After spending 20 yuan on 10 darts, Song Yun weighed one in his hand and shot it at a balloon.
Pop!
The balloon burst immediately.
One by one, under the amazed eyes of the vendor and the cheers of the three girls, Song Yun precisely burst the last balloon.
“Oh, this big bear is mine now!” Qingluan cheered, hugging the big bear triumphantly.
Seeing this, Li Shishi felt left out since Song Yun had never given her anything during their time together.
So, she also demanded a big bear.
Song Yun raised an eyebrow at the vendor and asked, “Boss, do you have more bears?”
The vendor gritted his yellow teeth and stomped his foot, pulling out another big bear from a box beside him.
“As long as you’re willing to play at my stall, I’ve got bears,” he said, though deep down he was gambling on Song Yun’s previous luck not holding out.
But soon enough, he was proven wrong.
With rapid hand movements, Song Yun won another big bear.
Li Shishi and Qingluan already had theirs, and leaving Xiao Qing empty-handed wouldn’t look good, so Song Yun smirked at the vendor.
The vendor’s body shook as he roared, “Game over, each bear is now 50.”
Song Yun laughed at the turn of events, seeing it as a lesson for the vendor.
He didn’t argue and just paid up.
Just then, a shadow in black darted from an angle straight toward Li Shishi.
With swift movements, Song Yun shifted positions, shielding Li Shishi behind him while Qingluan did the same, pulling Xiao Qing to her side.
The shadow plunged right into his embrace.
The young man in a brown T-shirt dusted himself off and climbed up from Song Yun’s arms, apologizing repeatedly with a naive smile, “I’m so sorry, I was walking too fast and not watching where I was going.”
“No worries, just be careful not to twist your ankle,” Song Yun said lightly.
“It’s fine, it’s fine,” the young man said, only to realize that his ankle was indeed uncomfortable and even pained him with every few steps.
As he limped away into a nearby alley, Li Shishi asked cautiously, “Was there something off about him?”
“I think he was looking for this,” Song Yun said, pulling out his wallet.
“Was that guy a thief?” Qingluan exclaimed excitedly.
“Why didn’t you catch him?
I’ve never seen what a thief looks like!” She pouted and playfully kicked Song Yun.
“Never mind, this thief will surely come looking for me,” Song Yun said calmly, then magically pulled out another wallet and shrugged.
“If they’re foolish enough to come back, we’ll knock them flat and then I’ll get a chance to interrogate them properly,” Qingluan said, shaking her lotus-root-like arms with a giggle.
Song Yun felt a bit dizzy and repeatedly instructed Qingluan not to resort to violence or use her martial arts skills.
Then, he continued leading the three girls forward.
After the young man who had bumped into Song Yun limped into the alley, he met his friends and laughed, “We found a few easy marks today, especially that last one.
Man, those three beauties with him were stunning.
If I could spend a night with them, I’d die happy!”
“Cut the crap.
Where’s the loot from earlier?” Bald Man said coldly.
