She saw Daisy Thompson still looking somewhat bewildered at Sophia, seemingly unaware of what had happened, her eyes filled with surprise.

After Sophia had finished accusing her, she turned to check on Daisy’s injury, so she didn’t see the expression on Sophia’s face.

But the next second, she saw Daisy’s initial look of shock replaced by one of painful heartache, gazing pitifully at Elly Campbell.
