Chapter 304: 304. Jones Dominance’s Warning_1
Elly Campbell glanced at the wound on Adam Jones’s forehead and couldn’t help but doubt whether his concussion was real or fake.
"Isn’t it because I fear you’d be bullied if you were all alone?"
Adam grinned, that ingratiating expression made Elly’s teeth ache from the irritation.
Not wanting to flirt and argue with him at the gate, she continued to head out, just as James Campbell came out from inside, and they ran into each other.
In that moment, James Campbell truly wished he could tear Elly into a thousand pieces. In his eyes, Elly was nothing but a cheap woman, unworthy of being his, James Campbell’s, daughter.
The look he gave Elly was as if it held countless knives, all sharpened and ready to slaughter her.
However, unfortunately for him, by Elly’s side stood Adam Jones, someone no one dared to provoke. Even though he was her senior, he did not dare lift a finger against Elly in front of Adam.
All he could do was glare at Elly, his eyes filled with a thick warning.
Elly outright ignored him, considering James Campbell no more than a fool, a fool who would soon be out of play. Why would she stoop to his level?
But even though Elly couldn’t care less about James Campbell, Adam wasn’t pleased when he saw the vicious look James directed at her.
"CEO Campbell."
Just as James Campbell was about to leave, Adam’s chilly voice casually sounded behind him, decisively making him halt in his steps.
Turning around, James saw Adam looking his way.
Suppressing the indignation of having been humiliated earlier, he attempted to appear unconcerned and asked, "Is there something else?"
Seeing Adam narrow his eyes, a storm seemingly gathering in those deep orbs, he spoke, "Before you act, consider whether you can bear the consequences of your actions..."
Before James could comprehend the meaning behind Adam’s abrupt and cryptic words, he heard Adam continue—
"I haven’t even touched a hair on my wife’s head, let alone anyone else!"
In the latter part of Adam’s sentence, the temperature of his tone dropped several more degrees, the warning within it now very clear.
Only then did James fully grasp what Adam was referring to.
Was he talking about the incident in the meeting room when he had wanted to strike Elly?
If Adam hadn’t appeared, he would have already killed that little wench Elly.
James’s gaze turned chilly as he looked at Adam’s deep and cold black pupils, his face shifting colors several times.
He was indeed curious, if he had hit that little wench Elly, what did Adam plan to do to him?
Adam seemed to guess his thoughts, and his tall figure moved to stand in front of him. An overwhelming aura of oppression instantly met James, scaring him into instinctively stepping back a few paces.
Realizing his own pathetic movement, James scrunched his eyebrows in annoyance.
Adam scornfully snorted, "Scared already?"
James’s face turned alternately pale and flushed, as Adam’s words continued to relentlessly assault his ears—
"If you truly had laid a hand on Elly, do you think you would still be standing here intact?"
"You..."
James’s face changed color, but meeting Adam’s eyes cold as frost, he couldn’t help but feel intimidated. He managed to squeeze out, "Elly is my daughter; what’s wrong with me, her father, disciplining her?"
