When Elly Campbell left the patient’s room, she encountered Adam Jones walking towards her. She glanced at him coldly, feeling irritated at the thought of Lily Jones, and shifted her gaze away from Adam’s face to the adjacent room.

Adam noticed the frustration and impatience on Elly’s face when he arrived, and knowing she had just come out of Lily Jones’s room, he naturally assumed that Lily might have said something to embarrass Elly. His expression suddenly grew dark.

He walked heavily towards Lily Jones’s room and just as he approached the door, he heard Lily’s angry curses coming from inside—

"Isn’t she just the woman my brother rejected? What’s she so arrogant about? If my brother doesn’t want her, she’s nothing but a discarded wife. If she thinks she can still be the Young Miss of the Jones family, she’s dreaming, she...!"

Adam entered the room with a dark expression to find Sophie Baker patting Lily Jones on the back, seemingly comforting her. But she hadn’t said a word from beginning to end, clearly allowing Lily to continue railing against Elly.

Lily’s face was deathly pale, a sickly white, but her energetic tone betrayed that this had no impact on her condition.

Lily had been pampered by everyone in the Jones family since her childhood because of her heart condition. After marrying into the Moore Clan, they too treasured her, and Adam had never been harsh with her since they were young.
