Rekindled Hearts: The Tycoon’s Reluctant Love
Chapter 567 - 564: His Domineering Way

Chapter 567: Chapter 564: His Domineering Way

The air held a moment of silence.

Ming Yao’s hand holding the chopsticks paused slightly.

She glanced towards the bedroom out of the corner of her eye; the sound just now had come from the room.

If she wasn’t mistaken, it seemed like her vase had been broken?

The vase dated back to the late Ming and early Qing dynasty, which she had acquired at an auction for a seven-digit sum.

Her windows were tightly closed, so it definitely wasn’t knocked over by the wind.

Ming Yao’s thick and curly lashes drooped, hiding the emotions in her beautiful eyes.

"Eh, did I just hear something?" a male colleague said with a puzzled face.

"I heard it too, it sounded like something shattered."

Si Ye looked towards Ming Yao, "Little Yao, I’ll go have a look."

In an instant, Ming Yao’s heart rose to her throat.

She stood up from the sofa, her face beautiful yet coldly charming, maintaining a smile that betrayed no hint of panic, "Truth be told, I have a cat at home, probably just the cat being mischievous, I’ll go check on it, you all keep eating!"

Ming Yao patted Si Ye’s arm, "Please entertain our colleagues for me, I’ll be right back."

Ming Yao’s face was truly too calm, so nobody would guess that actually, there was a man hidden in her room.

Ming Yao walked to the bedroom door and pushed it open.

The room’s curtains were drawn, blocking the afterglow of the setting sun outside. It was pitch black, so much so that you couldn’t see your hand in front of your face.

Ming Yao couldn’t see inside the room clearly; just as she was about to turn on the light, a large hand suddenly reached out towards her.

Her fair and slender wrist was grabbed forcefully by the man, and before she could react, she was pulled into the room. As the door closed behind her, she was pinned against the door frame.

Her delicate waist was bumped by the doorknob, and her exquisite eyebrows knitted tightly together in pain.

Damn it!

"Gu Siting, are you crazy?" Not only did he break her antique vase, but he also deliberately pushed her.

The room was dark, she couldn’t see the man’s expression, but she could vaguely sense the displeasure in his eyes.

His body radiated a faint, dangerous chill.

Gu Siting leaned down, his shirt clinging to his shoulders and chest due to the motion of bending over, outlining his robust and lean contours. His coolly precise fingers accurately pinched the woman’s delicate chin.

"What do you take me for?"

Before Ming Yao could say anything, the man’s low, husky voice sounded again by her ear, "A secret lover to be kept hidden?"

Ming Yao was at a loss for words.

"Don’t flatter yourself; even if I wanted a lover, I wouldn’t pick you."

The man let out a low chuckle from deep in his throat, "Oh? Do you think you could find someone better than me?"

In the silent air, the two of them stood intimately close together, his breath as he spoke showering down on her, causing her eyelashes to tremble violently.

The atmosphere was too suggestive.

"I came to tell you to stop making any noise."

Gu Siting’s tongue pressed against his back teeth, his smile somewhat wicked, "I see you’ve got quite a few valuables in your room."

Ming Yao, "..."

She could hear the undertone in his words, warning her that if she upset him again, he might smash her other valuable objects too.

This man, how could he be so detestable!

"Try touching my things again and see what happens?"

The man lowered his head, his thin lips nearing the edge of her ear, "Ming Yao, you, I dare to touch; let alone your possessions!"

After speaking, he bit down hard on her delicate neck.

The pain came in an instant, leaving Ming Yao bewildered for a few seconds.

He bit down with considerable force; she could distinctly feel the sharpness and pain of his teeth piercing her skin.

This crazy man!

Ming Yao was not someone to be trifled with, and forgetting his status, she raised her hand to claw at his neck.

Even though I couldn’t see him, I could feel the scratches on his neck.

The man laughed instead of getting angry, "Little wildcat."

In the pitch-dark space, his voice was deep and mellow, like a fine wine that had been aging for years, with a seductive danger.

Ming Yao’s arm erupted in goosebumps.

"Gu Siting, stop messing around. Do you even know that your father came to see me this morning?"

Hearing Ming Yao’s words, the man’s large hand wrapped around her waist suddenly tensed.

His black eyes sharpened, "What did you say?"

"What I said, didn’t you hear?" Ming Yao pushed him away with all her might.

She turned on the lights in the room, walked over to the dressing table, and looked at her painfully sore neck through the mirror.

The man had fiercely bitten her, leaving two teeth marks on her neck, with faint traces of blood visible.

This damn man!

Ming Yao was about to tend to the wound when a knock on the bedroom door sounded, "Little Yao, are you alright?"

"I’m fine, I’m just changing clothes, I’ll be out in a moment."

After treating the wound on her neck and covering it with foundation, Ming Yao let down her tied-up long hair to conceal the area around her neck.

She took a light jacket out of the closet, put it on, and then looked at the man who had somehow ended up lying on her bed.

She gritted her teeth, "Who let you lie down?"

The man took a deep breath with her pillow in his arms, "No scent of a man. It seems you and Si Ye haven’t progressed that far."

Ming Yao walked to the side of the bed and reached out to pull the man, but the next second, she was pulled into his embrace.

He leaned in and kissed her on the lips.

"If you don’t get out now, you’ll have to wait another hour before you can."

Ming Yao, "..."

After composing herself, Ming Yao left the bedroom.

Si Ye was standing in the corridor. Seeing her emerge, he spoke with a gentle manner, "What did Little Snowball break?"

"A vase."

Si Ye slightly furrowed his brows, "The antique vase you bid on last time?"

Ming Yao murmured in affirmation.

"Let me have a look. I have a friend who restores antiques..."

Ming Yao grabbed Si Ye’s arm, "It’s fine, I’ll have Jing Hang help me find someone to fix it later. I haven’t finished eating, let’s continue with the meal!"

Si Ye smiled and nodded, "Alright."

When Si Ye and Ming Yao approached, a curious male colleague asked, "Sister Yao, what breed is your cat? It’s pretty mischievous. I’ve trained cats before, can I take a look? Maybe I can train it for you!"

Ming Yao, "..."

Si Ye looked at Ming Yao, "How about bringing out the cat and letting your colleague help train it?"

Ming Yao was speechless for a moment.

Where was she supposed to find a cat now?

Zhong Ling noticed the expression on Ming Yao’s face, and with years of understanding and intuition about Ming Yao, she quickly seemed to grasp something and hurriedly said, "Sister Yao, do you have any cold drinks at home? The spices are killing me."

"I’ll get them from the kitchen for you." Ming Yao got several bottles of cold drinks from the kitchen, and just as she placed them on the coffee table, the doorbell rang.

Ming Yao opened the door, only to see Aunt Zhong holding a cat at the doorstep.

Seeing Aunt Zhong and Little Snowball, Ming Yao was somewhat surprised.

Aunt Zhong glanced at the living room, pretending not to recognize Ming Yao, "Miss Ming, your cat ran over to the neighboring balcony. I brought it back for you."

As soon as Little Snowball saw Ming Yao, it quickly jumped into her arms. Aunt Zhong didn’t stay long and hurried back next door.

When Ming Yao walked toward the living room while holding Little Snowball, she glanced at the bedroom out of the corner of her eye.

Little Snowball was quickly brought over by Aunt Zhong, which must have been arranged by that damn man!
