Chapter 202: Chapter 12: Supernatural
Five days later, on a sunny beach.
The breeze brushes against the face, the slightly salty sea breeze evoking the taste of the ocean.
The sea water rushes onto the beach, occasionally bringing some small crustaceans ashore.
The beach is a pristine white, complementing the blue sea and sky, and the scenery is so captivating that one can’t help but lose oneself.
Some girls in bikinis run barefoot across the beach, laughter occasionally ringing out. Despite the picturesque scenery, there aren’t many travelers here.
Su Xiao is leaning on a recliner; this is his third stop, a small coastal town.
The environment and culinary culture here satisfy Su Xiao, and he decides to stay for a while.
Su Xiao opens his eyes and yawns.
"The feeling of being watched has disappeared for five days now, seems those Cleaners have some clout."
Folding up the recliner, Su Xiao, shirtless, wearing shorts, and barefoot, walks toward a villa near the beach. Now with a legal identity, he has nothing to hide and simply bought this villa.
He acquired a lot of money from his enemies’ homes during his revenge; nothing is more satisfying than squandering his enemies’ wealth.
Su Xiao’s tense nerves have completely relaxed, and to his surprise, his Swordsmanship Expertise has improved by a level.
Now his Swordsmanship Expertise has increased to Lv.11, an unexpected joy.
Su Xiao walks into the villa, and shortly afterward, the prompt from Reincarnation Paradise appears.
[Notice: A new Derivative World is about to open, and the Hunter will return to Reincarnation Paradise, ensuring there are no witnesses around.]
[Teleporting... teleportation complete.]
The sensation of teleportation arises, and Su Xiao returns to his exclusive room in Reincarnation Paradise.
[Hunter Level: Lv.7, a notification will be received 35 minutes before entering the Derivative World, and the Hunter will enter the Derivative World in one hour, please wait patiently.]
After returning to his exclusive room, Su Xiao’s lazy demeanor gradually disappears, his eyes becoming exceptionally sharp.
"Is it coming, the new Derivative World."
Su Xiao leaves the exclusive room to head to the trading market. Although he doesn’t have Paradise coins, the trading market often has new items before entering the Derivative World, so he decides to have a look.
The Trading Square is bustling with activity, the workers are extraordinarily active before entering the Derivative World.
"All sorts of recovery items, dirt cheap prices."
"Various rare equipment, no bargaining."
"Worker seeking protection, 6000 Paradise coins."
The trading market is a mix of capabilities, and Su Xiao gradually delves deeper into the Trading Square, soon discovering a bustling stall, with some kind of argument brewing.
"What do you mean by this, 8000 Paradise coins is way too much."
"Buy it if you want, if not, scram."
Hearing the bargaining between the vendor and customer, Su Xiao grows curious about what is being sold at this stall.
Pushing forward, Su Xiao understands the situation; the stall only has a few potions.
[Magic Power Juice]
Quality: Green
Type: Recovery Item
Effect: Instantly restores 18% of Mana Value
Rating: 22 (Note: Green rating ranges from 10 to 30.)
Description: A luxurious rare item.
...
[Mental Stimulant Potion]
Quality: Green
Type: Recovery Item
Effect: Slowly restores 30% of Mana Value
Rating: 27 (Note: Green rating ranges from 10 to 30.)
Description: Slightly damaging to the brain, not to be used more than three times.
...
Apart from these two potions, there are other recovery items, all of which can restore Mana Value.
It’s the first time Su Xiao has seen potions that can restore Mana Value, making this particularly rare, as he has never obtained any.
There are many Mages within Reincarnation Paradise, but the production of mana recovery items is not high, leading to a scarcity. Healers within adventure groups must learn skills to recover Mana Value, but their Mana Value is also limited.
"This guy is really lucky, no idea where he got so many mana recovery potions."
The Contractors around whisper to each other.
Despite the high prices, rarity makes them valuable, leaving those Mages or Healers with no choice but to be gouged.
The potions at the stall sell out in less than five minutes, and as the vendor flips his hand, more potions appear at the stall.
Su Xiao observes for a while, noting that the vendor sells about 30,000 Paradise coins worth of potions in five minutes, the exact profit unknown.
After leaving the stall, Su Xiao falls into contemplation; there’s only one possibility for the vendor having so many potions: they might have mastered the method of producing these potions.
This sparks an idea in Su Xiao; perhaps he should learn a similar ability as his Mana Value is abundant, and if it’s an item crafted from Mana Value, his efficiency would be far higher than other Contractors.
However, such scrolls are scarce and expensive, so it’s something to consider if he comes across them in the future.
Wandering around the trading market for a while, Su Xiao receives information about the next Derivative World.
[The Hunter will enter the Derivative World: Slash-Red Pupil in 35 minutes.]
Upon learning about the Derivative World, Su Xiao is surprised; the World of Crimson is famous in Reincarnation Paradise for being extremely dangerous but also highly rewarding.
A plethora of tasks and high-level equipment make it coveted among Contractors.
The previous worlds Su Xiao experienced, Ghouls and Giant World, the power systems had some pseudoscience, yet were still within acceptable rules.
World of Crimson differs; there are forty-eight Imperial tools with various abilities, some involving space manipulation.
Imperial tools are crafted from materials from super dangerous species, such as certain evil dragons or the thin-blooded demons.
These rare materials, combined with a rare metal known as Orichalcum, and especially the craftsmanship, led a grand Empire to produce forty-eight Imperial tools with national effort.
After crafting the forty-eight Imperial tools, the Empire could continue no longer, and the craftsmen were executed to sever the technique, leaving only the forty-eight Imperial tools in the world.
In Su Xiao’s view, these Imperial tools are essentially weakened versions of Devil Fruits.
Some Imperial tools are even stronger than Devil Fruits in certain aspects, like General Esdeath’s blood-type Imperial artifact ’Essence of the Demon’, which grants the ability to control ice if one can bear the frenzied consciousness within the blood.
Compared to the Pirate World’s Chilly Chilly Fruit user, Kuzan, in terms of physical constitution, Esdeath falls short. However, one thing sets Esdeath above Naval Admiral Kuzan; she can freeze space.
Su Xiao begins recalling the general content of the World of Crimson.
This Derivative World’s content isn’t complex.
The basic plot revolves around an Empire starting to decay after a thousand years, with high taxes and tyranny making life unbearable for the commoners, leading them to rebel, and various rebel armies emerging like mushrooms after the rain.
Among the rebel armies is one the strongest and most popular with the people.
The rebels grow steadily, constantly clashing with the Empire, and a large organization needs a group hidden in the darkness to handle covert matters; this rebel group is called "Night Raid," commonly known as the night assault squad or simply Night Raid.
Night Raid is the rebel’s Anbu, assassinating enemy leaders, gathering funds, and spying. Their leader is a woman named Najenda.
The Empire also has similar departments, but they are quite scattered, and eventually, to counter Night Raid, the Empire’s Anbu is unified under the female General Esdeath’s management.
The World of Crimson mainly revolves around the Empire’s change, the war between the Empire and the rebels, and the brutal confrontations between the two dark organizations.
