Chapter 128: Chapter 96: A Gift for You

The first to engage Mars was Takatsuki Sen, who was being extra cautious with the tragedy of Kirishima Arata fresh in mind.

Takatsuki Sen’s Ghoul Speaker form was different from before; the prominent Heko on her back and the two Heko great swords on her arms had disappeared, replaced by a Heko resembling an arm shield on her forearm, she gave up all offensive Heko in favor of focusing on defense.

The appearance of a Heko depends on the ghoul’s imagination, but few ghouls can achieve this. As an SSS level Ghoul, Takatsuki Sen can, of course, do it.

A heavy arm shield with a diameter of one meter stood in front of her, and Takatsuki Sen seemed noticeably more at ease.

Mars snorted coldly, launching a straight punch at Takatsuki Sen’s arm shield, a punch full of tremendous force, accompanied by a strong whooshing sound.

Boom.

Everyone felt a tremor beneath their feet.

Mars’s fist, encased in steel, slammed into Takatsuki Sen’s arm shield like a heavy hammer.

Takatsuki Sen’s arm shield instantly cracked like a spider web, the iron fist sinking deeply.

Inside the shell of the Ghoul Speaker, Takatsuki Sen felt a massive force hit her, even distorting the shell of the Ghoul Speaker, her legs sinking deeply into the stone platform, debris flying.

The power of the punch actually pierced through Takatsuki Sen’s arm shield and twisted the entire shell of the Ghoul Speaker.

If that punch landed on a human body, it would certainly be a scene of ’juices’ splattering.

Seeing this, Su Xiao’s eyelids twitched incessantly, making a mental decision that he absolutely could not be hit by Mars, absolutely not.

Although Takatsuki Sen was hit hard by this punch, she barely managed to defend against Mars’s frontal attack, unlike Kirishima Arata who was killed in an instant, so it was quite a feat.

Feeling dizzy, Takatsuki Sen forcibly gathered her spirit, with the mouth of her Ghoul Speaker shell opening wide and biting down on Mars’s arm.

A faint red flame flowed over Mars’s body, seemingly dissatisfied with not killing Takatsuki Sen with a single punch.

"A modified third-form warrior, with signs of being a half-blood, a nice piece of work."

Mars scrutinized Takatsuki Sen as if examining an object.

"But the Empire prohibits Holy Warriors from consuming each other; losing one’s reason disqualifies one from being called holy, so die!"

Mars raised his other iron fist, intending to smash Takatsuki Sen’s head with a punch.

Takatsuki Sen wasn’t fighting alone; by her side were the Priest and Arima Kishou.

Arima Kishou had already silently moved to Mars’s side, stabbing the Kuingke ’Owl’ toward Mars’s chest, roughly where the ’Origin’ was located.

The Priest’s attack angle was trickier, with that pointed Heko stabbing toward the gap in Mars’s armor at the waist.

While the two attacked Mars, Su Xiao had already circled behind Mars; Blue Steel Shadow activated, a faint blue arc flickering on the Dragon Slash in his hand as it chopped toward Mars’s neck.

Mars’s neck armor had several precise link points, and its defensive power must not be strong.

Takatsuki Sen held Mars at the front, with Arima Kishou and the Priest flanking, and Su Xiao circling behind to target the enemy’s head directly.

Mars, in the center of the four, showed no fear, raising one leg to stomp hard on the stone platform, using Mars’s skill ’Shock the Earth’.

Bang!

The entire stone platform shook.

A shockwave spread outward, and Su Xiao, who was slashing at the enemy, felt his head buzz, his vision filled with little white spots; this must be seeing stars.

Not just Su Xiao, the others felt the same, all attacks interrupted.

The three maintaining attack poses were fine, but Takatsuki Sen had it rougher, her teeth clasped around Mars’s arm.

Mars’s iron hand gripped the Ghoul Speaker shell’s neck, twisting and pulling.

Splurt.

A gush of blood sprayed onto Mars’s black armor, as the head of Takatsuki Sen’s Ghoul Speaker shell was ripped off, but it wasn’t over; Mars discarded the head in his hand, reaching into the chest cavity of the Ghoul Speaker shell.

The iron hand twisted inside the shell for a while, then pulled out forcefully.

Swish~.

Takatsuki Sen was violently dragged out alive from her Ghoul Speaker shell, her petite body hanging by her long hair in mid-air, the ghoul’s shell thumping to the ground.

The sharp pain in her scalp jolted Takatsuki Sen from her dizziness, and upon seeing the iron-clad giant before her, despair appeared in her eyes.

Nearby, Arima Kishou and the Priest staggered drunkenly, swaying unsteadily; seeing this, Takatsuki Sen was entirely resigned.

"Seems to have some research value, leave the body then."

Mars dangled Takatsuki Sen in front of him, pinching her head with his thumb and forefinger as if intending to crush it.

The tremendous force pressing against her cheeks drove Takatsuki Sen to struggle desperately.

Mars could twist off the head of the Ghoul Speaker shell, let alone Takatsuki Sen’s actual body.

At this moment, Takatsuki Sen resembled a chick with its head grasped, helpless and powerless.

As Mars was about to crush her head, a bright flash of blade light caught Takatsuki Sen’s eyes.

Takatsuki Sen swore she’d never seen that blade look so appealing; if she survived this ordeal, she’d get herself a fine sword to cherish.

Because of his higher Intelligence Attribute, Su Xiao recovered from dizziness a bit faster.

Silently, he leaped behind Mars, both hands holding the knife handle reversed, stabbing Mars’s rear neck directly.

There was a gap at Mars’s rear neck, just wide enough for the blade of Dragon Slash to pierce through.

The long knife slipped into the armor’s interior, penetrating about ten centimeters before stopping, Dragon Slash felt like it was thrust into a gelatinous mass, each entry painstakingly slow.

Mars grunted sullenly, releasing Takatsuki Sen and reaching behind his neck with both hands.

This startled Su Xiao considerably; Takatsuki Sen was like a chick in Mars’s hand, and if he were captured, he’d be torn apart instantly.

Su Xiao kicked against Mars’s back with force, leaping high and successfully distancing himself from Mars.

Failing to grab Su Xiao, Mars was angered, red flames erupting from him.

Mars’s blood-red eye sockets scanned left and right, eyeing the newly recovered Priest.

The Priest began retreating, only to have Mars seize him by the arm.

Crack.

"Ah!"

The bones in the Priest’s arm crumbled instantly under Mars’s grip, but the Priest was no ordinary person; hekko lashed out at Mars’s head.

Before the Heko could strike Mars, Mars pulled his arm back low, fully swinging and hurling the Priest away with his full force.

The Priest felt the world spinning as he flew rapidly.

Having just escaped Mars’s range of attack, Su Xiao saw this and widened his eyes; Mars was throwing the Priest at him like a weapon.

Su Xiao attempted to dodge, only for the Priest to crash into him.

Bang.

Su Xiao was sent flying, crashing against the rock wall behind him, feeling as if his entire body would fall apart; despite being dizzy from the impact, he forced himself to spring up from the ground.

A sharp pain shot through his back; he was heavily impacted, a mouthful of iron-tasting liquid surged up his throat, nearly passing out from crashing into the stone wall.

Once his vision cleared, Su Xiao found that Mars hadn’t rushed over, and he sighed in relief.

Mars was overwhelmingly powerful; had his armor not had many attackable gaps exposing his body, there’d be no hope of victory.

The Priest also stood up nearby, one arm hanging limp.

Arima Kishou and Takatsuki Sen slowly drew closer, realizing that solo combat with this beast was futile.

"Hey."

Su Xiao shouted to draw Mars’s attention, an action that shocked the other three, thinking him mad.

Suddenly, something appeared in Su Xiao’s hand as he stared at Mars.

"What about letting us go in exchange for this treasure from my country?"

As he spoke, Su Xiao threw the object in his hand; seeing it mid-air puzzled the others, noting he’d kept one hidden all along.

Mars caught the item thrown by Su Xiao, raising what Su Xiao called a ’treasure’ to examine it closely, not recognizing it.

"What is this strange thing?"

From Mars’s earlier words, it could be guessed that he’d existed for a very long time, so naturally, he wouldn’t recognize the item in his hands.

No modern person would inspect something like Mars did, from such a close range.

From afar, in Su Xiao’s hand appeared a detonator.

"It’s a treasure; take a look at its pattern."

With those words, Su Xiao pressed the detonator in his hand.
