REINCARNATION OF THE STRONGEST WAR HERO -
Chapter 145: SHOWDOWN OF THE BOSS
Chapter 145: SHOWDOWN OF THE BOSS
Shoving aside all doubts and thoughts that were clouding his mind, Logan focused solely on the fight in front of him.
Because even though this was an F-Class dungeon, its difficulty had already reached E-Class.
Any careless move could invite disaster.
"I am strong but not invincible."
With that thought, Logan gave his full focus to the fight.
He lunged at the remaining monsters with full ferocity.
Two goblins attacked from the front. Logan dodged and threw two sharp punches at them. But both dodged cleanly.
Logan already knew what was coming next.
A dire wolf lunged from behind—
but suddenly crashed into an invisible wall of air.
Without even looking, Logan hurled a wind blade behind him. It sliced the dire wolf clean in half.
Then he raised his left hand and summoned two lightning bolts down onto the goblins trying to outsmart him. Both turned into coal and then ash.
"Maybe you have grown some intelligence. But that won’t work in front of me." He smirked.
"Gravity manipulation." He whispered.
And suddenly, all the monsters were pinned to the ground.
They couldn’t even remain standing.
Some were out of range. Sensing the danger, they tried to flee.
But wind blades sliced them in half—one after another.
Then Logan moved like a blur among the remaining ones and massacred them like tomatoes.
It lasted for barely thirty seconds. Then silence. All dead.
Their bodies began to turn into ash. And amidst the smoke, Logan stood tall.
He closed his eyes and took a deep breath, inhaling all the spiritual energy from the corpses.
For some reason, these monsters, even though low-class, had more spiritual energy than the ones before.
The increase wasn’t massive, but Logan clearly felt it.
He didn’t know why. But now wasn’t the time to get lost in doubt. He quickly sat in a lotus position and began his breathing technique.
He was in enemy territory. No time to slack off.
Soon, the spiritual energy turned into fresh, pure Qi and surged through his veins. His dantian continued to grow. Logan could feel his energy increasing....
like a storage being filled to the brim.
After some time, he opened his eyes.
"Almost there. Just a little more." He murmured.
Then he looked toward the path leading to the boss chamber.
"Here I come. Let’s see if you are an anomaly as well."
Brushing off the dust, Logan stood up.Then slowly marched toward the boss chamber.
Logan soon reached the boss chamber gate.
The entrance stood tall, slightly cracked, with thick black mist leaking out through the gaps. He could feel the pressure from the other side. Something strong...
He placed a hand on the gate and pushed.
Creeeak—
The heavy stone doors opened slowly, revealing a wide chamber lit by dim, flickering torches. The air inside was thicker. More oppressive. As if the room itself was holding its breath.
Logan stepped in.
His eyes scanned the surroundings quickly...and then locked onto the creature waiting at the center.
A huge goblin stood there. Almost four times the size of a normal one.
Its skin was dark green, almost black in places. It had three pairs of thick muscular arms. Each finger ended with sharp, yellow claws. But the thing that caught Logan’s eye the most....
was the third black eye sitting on its forehead. Wide open. Unblinking. Almost like it was staring into Logan’s soul.
And in its right lower hand, a massive stone hammer, easily taller than Logan himself.
The boss didn’t charge immediately.
It just stood there. Watching.
Logan didn’t speak either. His instincts were already alert. He could tell....
"This thing isn’t just strong. It seems smart. It has surely been waiting for me."
Then suddenly....
BOOM!
The goblin boss smashed the ground with its hammer. The floor cracked beneath its feet and a shockwave rushed forward.
Logan jumped to the side just in time and rolled to avoid the debris. Before he could stand up fully, two arms of the goblin threw a chunk of stone straight at him.
"Tch."
Logan summoned a barrier of air in front. The stone shattered on impact, but the force still pushed him a few steps back.
And then...
The boss charged.
It moved fast. Much faster than expected for its size.
Logan ducked under a horizontal swing and countered with a burst of fire to the goblin’s side. But just before the fire could hit, the boss raised two arms and blocked, using its forearms as shields.
It barely flinched.
Then with the upper set of hands, it threw two heavy punches. Logan jumped back.
But the boss charged as well. It felt like it didn’t want to let Logan breathe.
It brought down its hammer with terrifying force.
BOOOOM!
Logan barely rolled out of the way as the hammer crushed the stone where he stood just a moment ago.
Dust and smoke filled the chamber.
"It’s fast." Logan muttered, coughing once.
But he wasn’t losing.
Lightning crackled around his body. With a burst of speed, he closed the gap and punched the boss in the gut.
It staggered slightly—but didn’t fall.
One of its hands suddenly grabbed Logan’s arm, trying to lock him in place.
But Logan wasn’t careless. With a quick twist, he unleashed a point-blank lightning blast. The goblin shrieked and jumped back, releasing him.
Both stared at each other for a second.
The third eye on the goblin’s forehead glowed faintly for a moment. Then...
Its body moved again. Faster. Smoother.
Almost like it was predicting Logan’s movements before he made them.
And for the next few moments, the chamber turned into a storm of chaos.
Fire and stone clashed. Lightning and hammer collided.
Air blades flew. Claws scratched.
Both were fighting with everything they had.
But neither could land a clean, finishing blow.
They were reading each other.
Analyzing. Adapting.
Each time Logan used a move, the goblin boss would respond differently. Sometimes smarter. Sometimes more aggressive.
And that only made Logan more sure.
"This one’s definitely not normal."
His eyes narrowed.
"But that’s fine."
He took a deep breath.
"It’s nowhere near the level of that Orc back then."
