REINCARNATION OF THE STRONGEST WAR HERO
Chapter 131: NUMBER 171

Chapter 131: NUMBER 171

"Oh sure.

Name: Aiden Ferith.

Elemental Affinities: Fire, Ice.

And your age?" Elizabeth asked again.

"Twelve." Logan replied.

It was Logan. After bidding farewell to his parents and Hale siblings, he had arrived in Solvane to register as a hunter and start with his dungeon raids. And today here he was, finally appearing in the hunter guild to take the test to get a license.

But Logan’s last answer shocked Elizabeth. Not just her but all within the hearing range were stunned.

"So he really is a kid! Not a shorty."

One murmured amongst his teammates.

"Damn! A twelve year old kid wants to become a hunter? He sure has a death wish. Or it’s just some kind of prank, I tell you. One of his teammates added.

"What?! Twelve? Are you sure, you’re in the right place?" Elizabeth finally snapped back and questioned Logan.

"I am. Is it not allowed for an underage to be a hunter? I thought strength is the only requirement." Logan replied calmly."

"Well..." Elizabeth didn’t know what to say. What Logan said was true. There was no restriction on age.

"Big talk for someone with your size." Suddenly someone blurted out while marching toward Logan. He was a tall figure with luxurious attire. Had a long magic staff in his right hand.

Logan turned his head slowly. "Well, I wasn’t trying to talk big. Just clearing the doubts." Logan then replied calmly.

"Is that so. But your tone says you are confident enough in your strength. How about you show us that you’re not just talk." The man with the magic staff sneered.

"Show what exactly? It’s not like the guild is going to hand over me a license just because I asked for it. They are going to test me anyway. And if you are looking for any other entertainment, then please look for someone else." Logan replied flatly. He didn’t like to show off but he wasn’t that easy to be bullied either.

"You..." the man wanted to lash out but a strong grip on his shoulder stopped him.

"Give it a rest Damian. The boy is only here for a test. Not to wage a duel against you." It was Gideon.

"Hmph!" Damian jerked Gideon’s Hand off from his shoulder and left without saying anything else. He just wanted to test Logan, not start a duel.

Without letting the incident escalate even more, Elizabeth quickly finished the formalities and handed over a token to Logan.

"Here Aiden. Your number is 171. Make sure you are present in the arena when your number is called. Or else you will have to wait another month before you can take the test again."

"I will." Logan replied. Only his voice was audible due to his mask. So Elizabeth couldn’t tell if the boy in front of her, took her advice seriously or not. It didn’t matter anyway. She just felt slightly curious. It’s not every day you see a 12 year old take a hunter test after all.

While Logan was about to head toward a vacant table after receiving his token, a giant figure stopped in front him. Even his neck looked thicker than most common person’s thigh. It was Gideon.

Just as Logan was about to walk past him, Gideon stepped forward and extended his hand.

Logan looked up, briefly hesitating. Then, without a word, he accepted the handshake.

Gideon’s grip was firm, but not overpowering. "You’ve got a good head on your shoulders, kid," he said. "Don’t let loudmouths like Damian shake your calm."

"I don’t plan to," Logan replied in a polite tone. He could differentiate between who meant well and who didn’t.

There was a small pause before Gideon added, "You came here alone?"

Logan nodded. "Yes."

Gideon studied him for a moment, then nodded back. "Good. Sometimes, walking alone makes you stronger. Just make sure you walk smart. And if you need a party to join, you can consider our team. Though we are not in good shape at the moment, you will find the environment between teammates to your liking. Sometimes, people matter more than their strength."

Though Gideon didn’t know Logan, his calm and confident demeanour spoke loudly about his abilities. And awakening at the age of twelve was already considered amazing. So what he saw were only bright possibilities with Logan, and approached directly for recruiting him.

"I haven’t even passed the test and gotten my license yet. Once I am over with those, I will consider your offer. With that Logan gave a polite nod and the two parted ways.

He moved toward an empty table in the waiting area. More and more applicants were trickling into the guild now—some loud and cocky, others silent and cautious. A few glanced curiously at Logan’s mask, but none approached him.

The hall gradually grew louder, filled with the mixed hum of boots, weapons, and chatter. Veterans whispered about the new candidates. The fresh recruits whispered even louder about the veterans.

Then, suddenly, the noise dropped a level.

A subtle ripple of murmurs began spreading from the guild entrance. Several heads turned in the same direction.

"He’s here..." someone whispered.

"Lucas Hale... finally."

Logan turned slightly, eyes narrowing beneath the mask.

A tall, handsome young man entered through the guild doors. He wore a deep blue cloak over silver-trimmed armor—clean, expensive, and clearly enchanted. His golden hair was brushed neatly back, and his expression was calm, composed, and mildly proud.

Lucas Hale.

Without missing a beat, Leonard walked forward with a broad smile and outstretched arm.

"There you are!" Leonard said loudly, as if to make sure everyone noticed. "Let’s get you through the process. Reception’s this way."

Lucas gave a nod and followed Leonard to the front desk. Elizabeth seemed slightly more attentive than before but remained professional.

"So he’s also a Hale." Logan thought. Some faces flashed before his eyes.

As the seconds passed, more candidates entered the hall. Not all caused a stir—some were barely noticed, while others drew passing glances. A few looked confident, others nervous.

And finally... the flow stopped.

No more footsteps. No more new arrivals.

Elizabeth glanced at her ledger, then addressed the crowd.

"That makes a total of 259 applicants," she announced loudly, her voice echoing across the hall. "All registered candidates, please proceed to the fighting arena through the eastern gate. Your number will be called when it’s your turn. Until then, remain seated in the gallery and do not cause trouble."

The crowd began moving.

Some with excitement.

Some with nervousness.

And somewhere in the middle, a figure quietly marched along with others.

Logan.
