There was no jungle in particular while traversing the land; beautiful small villages could be seen from afar. Lexus nodded with satisfaction while galloping faster and faster.

Galloping with a horse was an art, and Isabella sucked at this art because she was falling behind constantly; she looked a little nervous too.

"That’s new; you also feel nervousness?" Lexus teased Isabella while slowing down for her.

They reached the Great Khan Empire at night; the security was although tight, they didn’t bother them too much, just a few gold coins, that’s all.

Entering the first city, they learned that Ancient Court’s Assessment was in the capital city, which was still a day’s journey on horseback, so they didn’t stay at the border city at all; they just sat in an inn and ate their fill with fresh food, then exchanged horses.

Khan Empires have special horses that run fast but are very small in size. Isabella bought it in a heartbeat, but Lexus looked around for a bigger horse because he was 7’5".

After finding a good horse, they left towards the capital, KharaKhoum, capital of the Khan’s. It was said this city is unbreachable, and no one has laid siege on this city for the last thousand years.

The lands were peaceful, and Lexus didn’t see Bandit or something like that on the way, but he saw hordes of soldiers on horses.

The hordes of the Empire guard every corner of the Empire thoroughly and eliminate bandits alike, and peace reigns on the civilians.

"The crime rate should be extremely low," Lexus murmured while looking at the huge walls; the walls were almost six stories tall around the city.

"Halt!" A huge team of guards was protecting the city gates, and they stopped Lexus and Isabella from entering the city.

"We came from far to get into Ancient Court’s Assessment," Lexus greeted them formally.

"The entering fee is five gold coins per person, no matter the reason," the captain of the guard seriously said; he was wearing lamellar armor, and his eyes were fierce.

"Alright, here are ten for the two of us." Lexus gave him ten gold coins. The captain, after taking the gold in hand, checked it thoroughly and then gave back two gold coins to Lexus.

"This gold is more valuable than our gold coins standards. Enter; don’t cause trouble." The captain cleared the path for them to enter the city.

KharaKhoum The city was marvelous; the technology of this world peaked in this capital. The city was very bright even though it was the darkest of the night, and children were happily playing on the street.

"This is a nice city, they " said to Isabella as they were actually seated on a horse and were almost at a mountaintop; the city was enclosed with mountains.

The city gates are built on the mountain; there was a slope of road going down from the mountain gates to the city.

Lexus and Isabella nodded to each other and then slowly went down the mountain; the city was bustling with activities, and people were still selling items at the roadside stall.

"It seems people are happy," Lexus said to Isabella, who’s just riding beside him on the wide road.

"Yes, because Ancient Court’s Assessment is a festival-like occasion, and people from every corner of the world come here to participate in it," Isabella explained, and then they rode deep inside the city.
