The Dao Yi Seal is one of the Upper Three Seals of the Primordial Nine Seals, an esoteric secret of the Chan Sect, and back when he was at Kunlun Mountain, Xuanqing couldn’t even dream of having the chance to learn it!

The Primordial Nine Seals are divided into the Upper Three Seals and the Later Six Seals. The first three seals are the Infinite Seal, the Heavenly Creation Seal, and the Dao Yi Seal, which are the core essence of Yuanshi Tianzun’s Great Dao.

The Later Six Seals, the Yin Yang Seal, the Four Symbols Seal, the Primordial Heart Seal, the Void Yin, the Sky Flipping Seal, the Wuji Seal, originate from the Upper Three Seals and are just supernatural abilities derived from them!

The two sets of seals are vastly different, like heaven and earth, having an essential difference.

The Infinite Seal is the leader of the nine, representing the original Chaos, signifying nothingness, all singularities, which can encompass everything, annihilation of all - time, karma, matter!

The Heavenly Creation Seal, born from the Infinite Seal, is its bane, signifying the transition from nothing to something, the separating of heaven and earth, embodying Yuanshi Tianzun’s path of creation!

The Dao Yi Seal, also from the Infinite Seal, symbolizes the Cause of All Fruits, where the Dao produces one, one gives birth to two, two to three, and three gives rise to everything, connecting many causes and effects, also the origin of all possibilities and karma.

Yuanshi Tianzun is called the origin of all and the cause of all fruits precisely because these three Dharma Seals represent the "nothingness," "creation," and "karma" that unfolded when he was born.

"A teachable young lad!"

Seeing this, Yuanshi Tianzun immediately cast a Dharma Seal, evolving the subtleties of karma for Xuanqing.
