Chapter 136: Chapter 135: She’s a what?

Once they reached the guest room, Millie quietly stepped ahead and gently pushed the door open.

Inside, Axelius could see two unfamiliar figures. One was seated gracefully on the velvet couch near the tea table, her back to the doorway, long flowing white hair resting gently on her shoulders as she held a porcelain teacup in her hand, sipping delicately.

Standing just behind her was another girl, possibly a servant or a guard, with her arms at her sides wearing black cload with a hood.

Axelius didn’t speak immediately.

He simply stepped inside, his boots making a faint sound on the polished floor and circled around the couch slowly to face whoever this mystery guest was.

And when he finally stood in front of them and saw her face clearly, his eyes narrowed slightly as he took in the sight of the elegant, unfamiliar girl looks the same age as him.

Axelius didn’t say anything at first as he lowered himself onto the seat across from the mysterious young girl, crossing his legs casually and leaning his arm along the armrest while keeping his expression calm but annoyed, his golden eyes focused on her with quiet suspicion.

The girl lifted her gaze slowly from his boots to his face, her eyes studying him like someone appraising something interesting and rare, and when their eyes met, she gave a faint smile that didn’t quite reach her eyes.

Axelius frowned deeper, his tone blunt and informal as he finally spoke, "I don’t think we’ve met before. So who are you, and what do you want?"

Her lips curved slightly in a smile and she spoke in a graceful, noble voice that seemed to carry elegance in every syllable, "So you’re Axelius Dravenhart?"

Axelius tilted his head slightly and replied, "The one and only," then leaned forward a little, tone sharp, "Now stop beating around the bush and just tell me what business you have with me. I’m not a fan of vague guests showing up at my estate."

But just as he said that, his gaze moved to the girl standing silently behind the guest—and his eyes widened slightly in recognition.

"You!" he said, his voice dropping in shock.

It was her—the girl in black. The one with the black silk mask and black hair.

The girl slowly removed her hood now that he recognized her, revealing her long jet-black hair, and nodded toward her seated companion.

The girl on the couch gave a soft hum and turned her head slightly toward her.

"So, you’ve met before. Sylfia, is it him?" she asked.

The masked girl—Sylfia—nodded calmly, her voice quiet but clear. "Yes. It’s him, Your Highness."

"Your... Highness?" Axelius repeated in a low tone, his brows knitting as he looked back at the girl on the couch, who now stood up gracefully.

She stepped in front of him with practiced elegance, her movements fluid and poised like someone born and trained for nobility. She placed one hand over her chest, lowered her head in a respectful and composed bow, and introduced herself formally.

"I am Tiana Elanore Archantia, the ninth princess of King Lucien Ferandis of Archantia Kingdom."

Axelius blinked slowly, processing her words as her name echoed in his head. ’A princess? Here?’

The moment Millie heard it, her eyes went wide like she just saw a dragon, and without wasting even a second, she quickly bowed low, one hand on her chest and the other reaching behind her to grab Axelius by the collar of his shirt, dragging him down with surprising force as she dropped to her knees before the princess with practiced grace.

Axelius stumbled from the sudden pull, falling to his knees awkwardly, not knowing what just happened, and turned sharply to Millie with wide eyes and confusion all over his face, "What the fu—Mill—"

But before he could finish his sentence, Millie slapped her hand over his mouth, her voice low and desperate as she leaned close to his ear and whispered quickly, "Young master, please! You have to kneel and apologize properly! This is a royal! If we offend her, it could bring punishment from the Royal family."

Axelius tried to shake her hand off his mouth with a glare, but Millie was already turning toward the princess again, her forehead nearly touching the floor as she said in a panicked tone,

"I-I deeply apologize for our rudeness, Your Highness! The young master didn’t recognize you, he’s... he’s tired! Yes! He’s been handling personal business all day, please forgive his behavior!"

Axelius, still kneeling with Millie’s hand over his mouth, looked absolutely shocked that his own maid had the guts to pull him to the ground like that—but even more shocked that she did it without hesitation.

Princess Tiana let out a soft, laugh as she gently raised a small folding fan and covered her mouth with it and after a moment she lowered the fan slightly and smiled with her eyes sparkling, saying with a warm voice,

"It’s quite alright, really. I actually prefer being treated like this, instead of the usual stiff and cold way people act around me when they know who I am. It’s refreshing."

Axelius reached up and grabbed Millie’s hand, prying it off his mouth with a small scowl and he stood up, brushing dust from his clothes with both hands before walking calmly back to the seat across from Tiana and sitting down again with a sigh.

"Calm down, Millie," he said flatly as he leaned back glancing at her from the side, "She said it’s fine now."

Millie, who was still kneeling in a panic, hesitated before slowly rising to her feet, fidgeting with her skirt nervously, her voice trembling slightly as she said, "B-but young master, she’s a royal---"

Before she could say more, Axelius cut her off, "Enough. She’s here as my guest, not as a princess. Learn the difference."

Millie went quiet immediately, bowing her head and stepping back behind Axelius again like usual, her hands clasped in front of her and her face a mix of embarrassment and concern.

Tiana, who had been watching the whole scene, now looked genuinely surprised—her expression shifted from amusement to something closer to admiration as she studied Axelius carefully, her fan still in hand but lowered now.

Axelius tapped his fingers lightly on the armrest of the couch, hesitating slightly as he stole a glance at Millie, whose eyes were clearly begging him not to go back to speaking informally with royalty.

He sighed quietly, "...Please, have a seat, Your Highness," he said, his voice still dry but respectful enough to make Millie breathe again.

Tiana smiled as she sat down again gracefully, folding her hands on her lap and looking at him gently.

"Thank you and I also must apologize," she said in her soft, elegant voice. "It was intentional, I admit. I chose not to tell anyone I’m a princess when I came here. I didn’t want guards or servants trailing me. I simply wanted to speak to you properly... as myself."
