Chapter 1353: Chapter 1354: I Want Your Lives
Wu Qian was pulled by Yun Mingrui, "Wang Limei, I am looking for Wang Limei."
"Wang Limei?" The man murmured the name.
Yun Mingrui immediately took out his wallet and drew out a few bills to hand over, "Uncle, she came back home half a month ago but has been out of touch ever since, could you take us to her parental home?"
The man sized them up, "What’s your relation with the young lady?"
Wu Qian said loudly, "I’m her daughter, is my mom in trouble? She hasn’t come home for half a month."
The man gave Wu Qian a thorough look, "I’ll take you there."
"Partner, who is it?" A woman’s voice came from inside the house, having heard the conversation outside, she asked.
The middle-aged man said to the person inside the house, "I’m stepping out for a bit; you go to sleep first."
Then he turned to them, "Let’s go!"
Wang Family Village is rather spread out, and it took about ten minutes for the trio to walk.
"We’re here, I’ll be heading back now."
"Thank you, uncle, please take the money."
Yun Mingrui handed the money to the uncle and, turning around, gently supported Wu Qian as they headed in the direction the uncle had pointed.
The two of them made their way to the nearby destination.
"Don’t worry, I am here." Yun Mingrui, while supporting Wu Qian, could feel her tension and thus spoke to comfort her.
He believed he was capable of protecting her.
The two headed towards the Wang Family residence.
Finally, they stood at the entrance.
Yun Mingrui knocked on the door.
"Who is it?"
"It’s me, open the door, I’m back." Yun Mingrui told Wu Qian not to speak, deliberately keeping his voice ambiguous.
Soon footsteps approached.
As the door opened, two unfamiliar faces, a man and a woman, stood at the doorstep.
"May I ask if this is Wang Limei’s parental home?"
The middle-aged man took a good look at both of them.
"You’ve got the wrong place."
Wu Qian screamed angrily, "What happened to my mom? You sent a letter and she hurried back, and now something’s happened. You are responsible for this; murder must be atoned for with life. I want justice."
With her words, her face was filled with fierceness.
"You are Limei’s daughter?" The middle-aged man was Wang Limei’s elder brother, Wang Anguo.
Wu Qian snorted coldly, "Where is my mom? Where is she?"
Wang Anguo hung his head, "Your aunty Limei has already..."
Wu Qian had held out hope that the phone call she received earlier might not have been true, but now that she had arrived here to verify for herself, the truth was undeniable.
"No, there’s no way anything happened to my mom. Why did you write that letter? Why send a letter after more than a decade of no contact, why? It must have been you, definitely you, it was you." She turned to Yun Mingrui, "Yun Mingrui, help me call the police, arrest them all, all of them."
"Who is it?" A woman’s voice rang out.
She quickly came outside.
"Who are these people?" The woman didn’t know Wu Qian, nor did she recognize Yun Mingrui.
Yun Mingrui ignored the woman, "Girl, don’t worry, no one who hurt your mom will get away. Calm down first, don’t get agitated."
Fearing she might not be able to bear the news after an exhausting day of travel and having eaten so little, he wanted her to be calm.
Wang Anguo sighed.
This incident that happened as Limei returned was indeed related to them.
"Who are you?"
Wu Qian glared at them resentfully, "Where is my mom now, where? If she’s alive, I want to see her; if she’s dead, I want to see her body." The last few words, filled with venomous intent, were directed at them—she wouldn’t let any of them off the hook for harming her mother.
