Ye Xuan thought about how his daughter was already six months old, and as her parents, they hadn’t gotten married due to some reasons. That just wasn’t right. Plus, with his status, he couldn’t afford to delay it further.

"He would approve it, but he might ask Qing Zhu first. If she doesn’t agree, your report might not get approved," Chu Molin believed the key issue in this matter lay with Qing Zhu. If she was unwilling, Ye Xiao wouldn’t force her, and the outcome might end up with Ye Xuan retiring, as soldiers weren’t allowed to have such a blemish on their record.

"That’s still quite uncertain. Why can’t this woman be like others? It’s not just that she’s strong-willed; her independence is almost intimidating," Ye Xuan thought. If she were like typical women, once she knew he was the child’s father, he wouldn’t have to go through so much trouble figuring out how to persuade her.

"Glad you know that. Whatever you want to talk about, discuss it after eating. It’s much better that way," Chu Molin saw that she was in a good mood, so he smiled. As long as she wasn’t upset again, he worried that her emotional ups and downs might make her ill.

"Mhm, mhm, Dongfang Li, join us for dinner with the child. Eat whatever you want; make yourself at home here." Qin Xue echoed Chu Molin’s words, inviting Dongfang Li to eat to ease her shyness.
