"Qing Zhu, what’s your relationship with that child?" Silver Wolf felt that two unrelated people wouldn’t act this way.

"Does that have anything to do with you?" Qing Zhu looked at the man. She didn’t feel the need to tell him such things.

"I’m just a little curious." Silver Wolf thought Qing Zhu was far too guarded. She wouldn’t even answer such a simple question. He didn’t know whether to be glad she was cautious or lament the apparent lack of trust in him.

"There’s no need for curiosity. Just focus on rescuing the child; the rest is none of your concern." Qing Zhu glanced at the meddlesome man. She had never met him before, yet he seemed overly familiar with her. This only heightened Qing Zhu’s inherent wariness. Could he really be a bad guy? Was he just saying he was here to rescue the child to lower her guard?

"I’m really not a bad person." Silver Wolf, seeing the look in Qing Zhu’s eyes, was utterly speechless. What did she take him for?

"There’s no sign saying ’bad guy’ across your forehead." Qing Zhu was implying that even if Silver Wolf were a bad person, she wouldn’t be able to tell.

"You really are something else, woman. Fine, think whatever you want." Silver Wolf was exasperated.

"Boss, why hasn’t Silver Wolf shown up yet? Do you think he didn’t get our message?" Big Head asked. It had been a whole day, and now it was already noon, yet there was no sign of Silver Wolf, which struck him as odd.

Logically speaking, Silver Wolf should have arrived by now. But the fact they hadn’t seen him yet seemed highly unreasonable.

"I don’t know either. Stay alert and watch the surroundings. Silver Wolf is cunning; he might already be here, observing us from somewhere." Tall Guy, hearing Big Head’s concern, also felt something suspicious was going on. Could his guess actually be correct?

"Boss, let’s scope out the surrounding area and then come back." The other three, after hearing Tall Guy’s suggestion, agreed.

"Fine, be thorough." Tall Guy gave the order with a trace of unease.

"Got it."

Yu Ze overheard their conversation and wanted to laugh. He wished he could tell them, Silver Wolf had already arrived last night; he just hadn’t shown himself yet. What could they possibly do about that?

Silver Wolf and Qing Zhu observed the group’s distribution and decided the time was ripe. The two exchanged a glance, and surprisingly, they understood what needed to be done just from that.

"I’ll take care of two, and you handle one. Is that manageable?" Silver Wolf said. He couldn’t handle all three at once, so he had to count on Qing Zhu for this.

"No problem." Qing Zhu wasn’t sure how capable she was, but she felt confident enough to deal with one.

"Alright, let’s move. We’ll loop around from this side." Silver Wolf gestured with a motion, and the two crouched down and slowly crept forward.

"Do you think Silver Wolf has actually come? Or are the bosses just being overly paranoid?" one of them muttered.

"Better to stay cautious. We all know what Silver Wolf is capable of. Don’t let him ambush us without us realizing it." Another man seemed far less relaxed.

They all knew of Silver Wolf’s reputation. Every attempt to take him down had failed, which spoke volumes about his skill. Though some of them hadn’t yet faced Silver Wolf directly and didn’t fully comprehend his expertise, one of them had witnessed it firsthand—and he wasn’t about to lower his guard.
