Chapter 1697: Chapter 1691: It’s Actually Her

Cohen thought about how Yu Ze still hadn’t been found, and his heart ached. Did Yu Ze get beaten? He couldn’t stop worrying.

"Cohen, tell Daddy—where did the person who took Yu Ze go? Did they say anything at the time? Was it an Uncle or an Auntie that took Yu Ze?" Chu Molin bombarded him with questions one after another.

Ji Dong watched from the side, dumbfounded. Was this also his child? Wasn’t the child who was taken barely over a year old? And this one didn’t look much older either. Plus, looking at his wife, she couldn’t be more than twenty—when did they even get married and have children?

Ji Dong couldn’t be blamed for having such thoughts. After all, while Chu Molin looked like he could be in his late twenties or early thirties, Qin Xue looked like a high school student, barely into her late teens or early twenties. And just one glance at Cohen revealed his mixed heritage. Which meant this child could very likely have been born from Chu Molin and another woman—a woman who wasn’t even from Hua Country.

But then, judging by Qin Xue’s demeanor, she didn’t seem to harbor any resentment toward this child at all. So did she genuinely accept him?

"Daddy, the Auntie who took Yu Ze carried him that way. I wanted to chase after her, but I’m too small and couldn’t catch up. So I called Grandma." Cohen pulled Chu Molin to the door and pointed in the direction as he explained.

"Cohen, tell Mommy—did you see that Auntie’s face? Do you know what she looked like?" Qin Xue asked him.

"Auntie Mommy, I know what she looks like," Jingtao piped up upon hearing Qin Xue’s question.

"Then, Taotao, could you draw it for Auntie Mommy to see?" Qin Xue crouched down to Jingtao’s level and asked him.

"Sure thing, Auntie Mommy. Wait for me, okay?" Jingtao replied, then went to grab paper and a pen from Yu Ze’s bag.

"Can he really do it?" Ji Dong looked at Jingtao in disbelief. Could a child this young even draw? And not just any drawing—he had to sketch a person.

"He can." Qin Xue and Jingtao spoke at the same time. Qin Xue’s tone was firm and confident, while Jingtao huffed in annoyance at being doubted by Ji Dong. Hmph, this Uncle wasn’t the least bit likable.

"Yes, Taotao did see that Auntie’s face." Cohen paused for a second, then recalled something after the woman left. He had gone to call for help, but Jingtao had directly come face-to-face with her, so he had definitely seen her.

"Alright, Taotao, go ahead and draw." Qin Xue felt even more hopeful about identifying the person after hearing Cohen confirm it.

"Taotao, sit here to draw." Chu Molin pointed to a table nearby.

"Okay. Auntie Daddy, Little Brother is falling asleep." Yu Chen, half-nodding off himself, mumbled sleepily, not fully aware of the situation.

"Alright, let Auntie Daddy hold your brother. You can focus on drawing." Chu Molin glanced at his youngest son, who was dozing off in Nangong Shulan’s arms. This little one was probably the only one too young to grasp what was going on—otherwise, how could he still have the mind to sleep right now?

Ji Dong, listening to them talk, couldn’t help but feel a strange sense of bewilderment. Everything about this family was too unconventional. Not "Daddy" or "Uncle," but "Auntie Daddy"? What kind of newfangled naming convention was this? Still, he’d learned his lesson by now and refrained from questioning Jingtao’s terminology—otherwise, the kid might throw a fit.

"Alright, I’m starting to draw now!" Jingtao announced, looking at Chu Molin.

"Mm." Chu Molin gave a slight nod.

Initially, Ji Dong didn’t believe such a young child could draw, but as he watched Jingtao’s tiny hand move across the paper, his eyes began to widen. What kind of prodigy was this?

Ji Dong stared at the increasingly clear outline on the paper. He felt they were about to uncover the person they were looking for.

"It’s actually her." Almost everyone present exclaimed in unison.

"Taotao, are you sure you didn’t make a mistake or draw it wrong?" Qin Xue couldn’t believe it—how could the person Jingtao sketched turn out to be Qin Su’e?

"Auntie Mommy, I saw her clearly—it was definitely her who carried Little Brother away." Jingtao spoke with certainty. There was no doubt in his mind—it was her.
