Chapter 537: Chapter 536: Mass Release 16
"Hey, what right do you have, Xu Niannian, to be so shameless?"
Zhao Zhenzhen saw Xu Niannian was serious and started yelling loudly, but alas, Xu Niannian did not give her the chance to speak any more.
Several security guards came up and dragged the mother and daughter out, each holding one by either side.
Zhao Zhenzhen and Zhao Shuihua fought back desperately, screaming so much that the entire factory knew about this disgraceful incident.
After the two were dragged out, Xu Niannian finally turned to Dongzi.
Dongzi instantly felt a chill down his spine.
It was over, he felt he was going to suffer because of those two.
He nervously asked, "Boss, what’s up?"
"Come into the office with me."
Xu Niannian rarely interfered with the company’s affairs, leaving most of it to Xu Erhong and Xu Zhiqiang to manage.
But since she had encountered this issue today, she had to take care of it.
The farce gradually came to an end, and the factory workers all sighed, unable to believe there were people so shameless.
Who knows who gave those two the courage to lie to the manager, claiming they were the big boss’s cousin and aunt; they were truly shameless.
Dongzi nervously followed behind Xu Niannian, with Xu Zhiqiang and Xu Sisi also closely following her, showing that Xu Niannian was very angry.
This was probably the first time Xu Niannian dealt with company matters in her own office.
She asked Dongzi, "How long have Zhao Shuihua and Zhao Zhenzhen been in the company?"
The inevitable had come, and Dongzi, knowing that Zhao Shuihua and Zhao Zhenzhen had deceived him, was aware that he couldn’t escape punishment.
He didn’t dare to hide anything, so he could only tell the truth: "They have been here for two or three days."
"Two or three days?" Xu Niannian laughed, her gaze sharp, "What positions do they hold?"
Upon hearing this, Dongzi’s anxiety grew even worse, but he managed to say, "Zhao Zhenzhen became a team leader in the workshop, and Zhao Shuihua is a supervisor."
Just as he finished speaking, there was a loud bang on the table as Xu Niannian’s hand slapped down onto the surface, standing up angrily.
"On the day the company opened, I drafted the company’s rules and regulations myself, stating that someone in charge should not promote others to positions just because of personal relationships. They had only just arrived, and you didn’t even know their abilities yet, you put them in charge. How do you expect the company’s other employees to view our rules and regulations?"
Xu Niannian rarely got this angry, and the reason wasn’t just Zhao Zhenzhen and Zhao Shuihua’s shameful behavior.
It was that her company’s managers were not following the company’s rules and regulations.
In the company, those with power often use their authority to seek benefits for themselves or their relatives.
This is unavoidable in the broad environment, and Xu Niannian was not so naïve to be indignant about this; she understood the firm nature of relationships and would not harp on nepotism.
Within the rules and regulations, the first and most important requirement was clearly stated: employees should not be promoted within two months of joining.
Nepotism is something everyone is aware of; as long as it’s not too outrageous, everyone generally turns a blind eye.
After all, it’s unavoidable, and complaints are pointless without evidence; just saying the other party has the ability could shut any allegations down.
What Dongzi did, however, was to break the rules outright, which was tantamount to disrespecting her authority as the boss.
Dongzi knew Xu Niannian would be angry, but he did not expect her to become so furious, especially since they were from the same village.
He did not expect her to show no mercy when she got angry.
However, knowing he had done something wrong, Dongzi didn’t dare to argue and could only keep apologizing profusely.
"I’m sorry, boss, I will correct my ways in the future."
Dongzi feared that Xu Niannian would strip him of his position and nervously looked to Xu Zhiqiang for help, thinking that they were from the same village and had a decent relationship.
Little did he know, Xu Zhiqiang was equally unhelpful, his face cold and not pleading for Dongzi with Xu Niannian.
Xu Niannian was so angry she got a headache.
Dongzi also suffered silently, especially since Zhao Shuihua and Zhao Zhenzhen had sought jobs under the pretext of being related to her.
This made it difficult for Xu Niannian to blame Dongzi, for after all, what he did was normal human behavior.
"Forget it, remember this incident. You will be fined one month’s salary as a punishment. You have no objections, right?"
Dongzi dared not object. Hearing that Xu Niannian would only dock his salary for one month and not take away his position, he sighed with great relief.
"Thank you, boss, thank you, boss."
At this moment, Dongzi finally understood the words Xu Niannian had stated at the beginning of the company’s opening.
"Next time, use your brain before you act. Don’t do something that makes it so easy for others to criticize," Xu Niannian said exasperatedly.
In the bigger picture, the company isn’t saying no to nepotism. It can’t control so much of it anyway.
After all, for every policy from above, there’s a countermeasure from below, not to mention that she didn’t have much time to manage the nitty-gritty of the company.
Even with Xu Zhiqiang and Xu Erhong keeping watch, they wouldn’t go to each workshop to question the employees about their positions.
But at least remember this, the reason must be convincing.
Even if the reason can’t be convincing, you can’t blatantly break the rules that the company has set out. That’s a foolish move.
