Heitan’s body suddenly trembled as he lifted his head and looked behind Huo Sining.

Huo Sining patted the creature’s rear, "Go ahead."

With his order, Heitan shot off like an arrow on the string and in no time toppled someone over in the other side of the courtyard.

The person, apparently caught completely off guard by this development, was suddenly knocked to the ground by a Tibetan Mastiff, with no awareness whatsoever, and by the time he realized what had happened, he was already pinned down by Heitan.

Looking up to see a big dog with a mane of black fur staring down at him fiercely with its mouth wide open, the person let out a sharp scream in terror, "Ah--"

Lei Shi also loved to join in the fun. Seeing Heitan take someone down, he got as excited as if he had been injected with chicken blood, and happily rushed over to plop his rear onto the person on the ground, sitting atop him and started to roughhouse with Heitan.

"Miss Huo, I... I do not understand what you are saying, I... did not follow you," Chen Xiaolong said in a halting manner.

He was not afraid of dogs, but clearly, these were no ordinary dogs.

At this moment, Chen Xiaolong felt an overwhelming sense of fear because he knew that any sudden movement could provoke the Tibetan Mastiffs and he’d easily end up meeting his end right here, never needing to return to Hetian.

Huo Sining snorted coldly, "Then, could you explain to me, why a Hetian police officer would come all the way here to S City?"

Chen Xiaolong stubbornly retorted, "I am here to visit relatives."

Huo Sining chuckled, "Visiting relatives? Alright then, I pretty much know everyone in this neighborhood, just tell me whose house you were visiting and I’ll go ahead and inform them so your relative can come pick you up."

Huo Sining’s kidnapping case had seemed extraordinary to him from the moment he took it over, despite the chief’s warning that it could be closed and no further investigation was necessary. But he couldn’t control himself.

Huo Sining turned her head to look at Chen Xiaolong, who was lying in a pitiful state on the ground, "Aren’t you a policeman yourself?"
