Shao He placed her hand on his broad palm, feeling a warm breath that made her cheeks turn red involuntarily.

Hand in hand, the two entered Capital City, and the excitement among the citizens grew even more intense, almost as if they would rush forward to surround them.

Pei Huaian was handsome, refined, and extraordinary in demeanor, with an air of regal poise that commanded respect.

Eunuch Li turned and left, leaving behind a few palace maids and eunuchs to tend to their needs, instructing them not to disturb the Fifth Prince and Doctor Shao.

Pei Huaian poured a cup of tea and handed it to Shao He, guiding her to sit on a chair.

"Now that we’re back, I plan to ask The Emperor for a decree, to choose a date for our wedding," he said while playing with Shao He’s slender fingers.

Hearing this, Shao He was startled and looked up at him, seeing his serious expression, not seeming deceitful, she pursed her lips.

"What? You don’t want to?" Pei Huaian asked softly.

Shao He shook her head, "It’s just a bit sudden."

Pei Huaian couldn’t help but laugh, stroked her hair with his hand, and whispered, "I don’t want to wait any longer, and I’m even more afraid of losing you."

Shao He turned her head away, clearly annoyed at his teasing.

Looking at her fondly, Pei Huaian wrapped her in his arms.

"After all we’ve been through, I genuinely hope we can live safely from now on. If possible, I’d rather take you away from Capital City, to a secluded place to live out the rest of our lives."

Pei Huaian didn’t care about fame or wealth; he just wanted to spend the rest of his life with the woman he loved.
