Chapter 512: Chapter 514: Wipe Out the Bandits
A quarter of an hour later, only a few bandits remained, and An Shi’s face was already covered in bloodstains.
The scar-faced man’s eyes widened in shock, these two lads looked thinner than himself, yet they were so formidable!
"Who the hell are you? Having such strength!" the scar-faced man stared at them warily.
Pei Huaian stood up, pointed his long sword at them, and said coldly, "Today, you must die."
Upon hearing this, the scar-faced man burst into laughter, "Ha ha... Just with you two milk-sops?"
"Is that so?" Pei Huaian smirked sarcastically, lightly tapped his toes on the ground, performed a beautiful spin in the air, and slashed his long sword with a cold gleam toward the scar-faced man.
The scar-faced man was startled, hurriedly raised his sword to defend himself, but was forced back several steps before stabilizing his stance due to underestimation.
Pei Huaian landed on the ground, looking at the scar-faced man with indifference, the corner of his mouth hooking up in a mocking arc.
"Who are you guys really?" the fear in the scar-faced man’s face grew evident, even though that move was just a test, the other party was definitely not simple.
"Heh heh..." Pei Huaian sneered coldly, "You guess."
After speaking, he vanished from the spot in an instant.
"Whoosh!"
"Bang!" The scar-faced man failed to dodge in time, and his shoulder was sliced open with a wound deep enough to see the bone, blood instantly soaking his clothes.
"Hiss!"
The remaining bandits behind the scar-faced man all gasped in shock, this youth was too ruthless!
"Bastards!" The scar-faced man covered his shoulder, his face contorted in ferocity.
He took a leap toward Pei Huaian, his palm turned into a claw aiming for Pei Huaian’s neck.
"Snap!" Pei Huaian turned his head to the side, grabbed the scar-faced man’s wrist, and snapped it.
The scar-faced man screamed in agony, his other hand quickly striking at Pei Huaian, but it was easily neutralized. At the same time, a kick aimed at the scar-faced man’s chest sent him flying.
"Spurt!" The scar-faced man fell to the ground in disarray, coughing up several mouthfuls of blood, his face deathly pale, clearly seriously injured.
"Truly can’t take a hit." Pei Huaian curled his lip, then approached him.
Upon hearing this, the scar-faced man sneered, "Who are you, exactly?"
"Who I am is none of your concern," Pei Huaian replied, and charged forward again.
"Please, don’t kill me!" the scar-faced man knelt on the ground with a "thud," begging for mercy.
Pei Huaian glanced at him indifferently, then thrust his long sword fiercely into the man’s abdomen.
With reluctance in his eyes, the scar-faced man died, staring at Pei Huaian, frustration and unwillingness filled his gaze.
Pei Huaian narrowed his eyes, a cold light in his pupils, while his hand plunged the dagger mercilessly into him.
The man’s eyes bulged with disbelief as he stared at Pei Huaian, ultimately succumbing with a last breath of resentment.
As Pei Huaian watched the dead, his figure swayed, and Shao He hurried to support him to sit down.
"I’m fine." Pei Huaian shook his head, his gaze returning to the corpse.
"I’ll dress your wound first."
"Hmm."
"You bastards! How dare you kill our boss! Everyone, get them! Kill them!" a bandit roared in anger, eyes bloodshot as if they longed to tear them apart.
Without even lifting an eyelid, Pei Huaian watched An Shi dart forward and end it with a sword, while the other bandits who tried to escape were all killed by An Shi.
Shao He sprinkled some medicinal powder on Pei Huaian’s arm; the pain at the wound was immediate and sharpened, making him frown involuntarily.
Seeing this, the villagers all knelt down, "Thank you, young master, for your great kindness, thank you."
Pei Huaian gave the villagers some silver, then helped to bury the villagers’ bodies, and stayed overnight before setting off again.
The next day, before the sky had brightened, Pei Huaian and An Shi packed up and left the villagers, continuing their journey to Jingzhou without a pause.
Inside Jingzhou City, life had returned to its usual bustling state; although the economy still had some shortages, everything had begun to operate normally.
The people of Nameless Village also resumed their regular lives, and the village chief even surrendered himself.
Ah Mo had recovered to normal, Qingxia and Qing Shan took care of the sick villagers together, and Yun Hua would occasionally come to help.
When Pei Huaian and Shao He reached Jingzhou, the common people knelt down to welcome them.
"Greetings to the Fifth Prince."
Upon hearing they had returned, Pei Hanze ran out of the inn, his gaze fixed on Shao He, and smiled at seeing the uninjured people.
"You’ve finally come back." Pei Hanze clapped him on the shoulder.
"Hmm," Pei Huaian smiled faintly.
Qingxia burst out of the room and tightly hugged Shao He.
"Miss, you’re finally back."
Qing Shan followed with a smiling face, relieved to see the safe return of the others.
"Silly girl, why are you crying? I’m not hurt, am I?" Shao He felt the dampness on his shoulder and gently stroked her hair.
"As long as you are fine," Qingxia sobbed.
"Alright, I’m hungry."
Wiping away her tears, Qingxia pulled Shao He into the room, saying, "Today, the cook has prepared a lot of dishes, miss, please come and taste."
The fragrance wafted into his nostrils, Shao He said with a gentle smile, "It does smell good."
After eating, Qingxia took Shao He back to the room to rest. After all, they had been traveling hard these days and the miss must have been exhausted.
Pei Hanze, meanwhile, pulled Pei Huaian aside to discuss matters concerning the Capital City, including the recent turmoil there and The Emperor’s deteriorating health.
