Reborn As Cursed Alpha's Mate
Chapter 235: The Fury Of The Goddess

Chapter 235: The Fury Of The Goddess

Gadal shrieked loudly in pain as her whole right leg crumbled and fell off.

Cassandra’s eyes blazed with rage and determination; the violet in them seemed to burn like a witch’s fire.

Her right hand stretched out, the ball of fire, pulsating with energy, danced on it again, ready to be hurled at this creature which had dared to hurt her mate.

Her shield assuringly covered Duskborn as she called out.

"Faris! Razial! Help Duskborn. I will deal with rest."

Both of them shuffled forward and began to untangle the dragon from the white web that had him trapped. The material was so hard that it was even impossible for Faris to cut it with his axe and Razial with his sharp icy knives.

Gadal had spun another shield around herself; her terrifying eyes were now fully focused on Cassandra, who was pulsating with this otherworldly energy. The determination in her eyes told Gadal that she would be a worthy opponent, and she was right in targeting her first.

Cassandra hurled the ball again and cut through Gadal’s shield like a knife through butter and hit straight into one of her eyes.

A blood-curdling shriek escaped her again as she sent her minions towards Cassandra.

Poisonous thorny vines crawled like slithering long worms from behind Cassandra and skewered the smaller spiders like meat in them.

"No one hurts my sister," Lotus snarled from behind her as her vines crawled towards Gadal and captured all of her legs in them, holding her in place.

The monstrous creature threw another poisonous dart towards Cassandra, but this time, she was ready. It couldn’t invade her shield and scattered to the air. The creature howled in anger, seeing she couldn’t get past the shield.

Aiko had gotten hold of the sleeping dust Lotus had given her. She rushed to be at the side of the sisters and whispered a plan in Cassandra’s ear.

"Let’s kill this bitch," Cassandra hissed in determination to her lady companions.

Before Gadal could attack again, Cassandra’s magic pulsed in her hands, swirling like a million tiny dots of raw power.

Aiko pulled out the cork and poured the sleeping dust onto the ball before Cassandra hurled it towards the raging monster. It tore through her shield and hit her directly in the face.

Right between two of her largest eyes. Her tough exterior cracked like a walnut under pressure. A hole was formed in her forehead; her eyes rolled back as she stumbled, and her legs gave way. Lotus pulled with all her might and the gigantic spider crumbled to the ground with a deafening thud.

The domain she had trapped them in slowly dissolved and the normal surroundings came into view. The remaining small spiders scuttled away, seeing the fall of Gadal.

"Good job, I will bind her up." Lotus moved towards the fallen creature with cautious steps while Cassandra rushed towards her injured mate. Faris and Razial were still trying to free him from the bounds.

She let her powers coat her hands and kneeled near him and he watched her with his big eyes. He nodded his big head at her and asked.

"Are you well?"

"I am, and you will be soon, too." She rubbed her hand all over the webs and they melted away like ice under fire. Soon Duskborn was free and healed under Cassandra’s powers.

"I was so worried about you but that entry was nothing less of a goddess." Duskborn rubbed his nose with hers as she healed the final tear in his wing. Cassandra giggled at his words.

"No one hurts my mate and companions on my watch."

Razial and Faris went to help Aiko and Lotus tightly tie up the half-dead monster so it wouldn’t follow them.

"What a grotesqueque and powerful creature," Lotus crinkled her nose.

"Gildaryn said she is an ancient creature so it makes sense why she is so strong. Even Duskborn’s shield couldn’t cut through to her. Only Cassandra’s powers worked against her." They noticed just how long and hairy her legs were, the feeling sent jolts down their spines.

Aiko tried to open the portal near a tree they had passed a few hours ago, and this time, she succeeded.

"My powers are finally working." Aiko sighed in relief.

"We should leave immediately and pass these lands by flying as was our initial plan because this is just the beginning. According to what the golden dragon had told us, there are going to be many other similar creatures in these parts," Razial answered, getting up.

They needed to speak to Duskborn and Cassandra to get out of there before more of these had them surrounded.

Everyone moved towards them, and after a discussion, it was decided that Aiko would take them a few miles back, to the place where Gildaryn’s lands ended. They would begin the journey again on Duskborn’s back.

Since everyone was exhausted after the fight and needed time to recuperate, it was decided they would rest there for a few hours.

Aiko opened the portal again and they passed through, leaving these dangerous lands behind and arriving back at the almost border which divided both these places.

Duskborn said. "We must rest here for a while. Cassandra was poisoned and she used a substantial amount of her powers in defending us. I am still weak, too, and wouldn’t be able to carry all of you. We begin in a few hours."

Everyone agreed and they made a temporary camp there. Aiko and Faris prepared food while Cassandra simply collapsed on her dragon, he took her in his huge arms. Razial and Lotus sat beside them.

"You had us worried there. I wasn’t even sure if antivenom would work," Lotus sighed out with her head on the Commander’s shoulder.

"I am surprised too at how quickly I healed, I think it was his painful shriek that reached into my subconscious and jerked me awake. Strange are the ways in which the mate bond works." Cassandra said in relief and leaned into her mate who was more than happy to have her in his arms.

Their mere presence now healed and strengthened each other.
