Reborn As Cursed Alpha's Mate -
Chapter 171: Wounds And Tears
Chapter 171: Wounds And Tears
Fownso entered followed by Haylia. Both wore worries on their faces.
"She lost too much blood and her body is covered in bruises," Siroos told them promptly, keeping his gaze on his mate.
"Alpha! Here." Fownso extended a glass jar towards Siroos with a mossy paste inside. Siroos accepted it quickly.
"Cover the wounds with this, we need to stop the infection. Rest let me fix up a potion which will increase the blood production." Fownso bowed, taking his leave so he could get to it as quickly as possible. There was not a moment to waste.
Haylia moved closer to her son and tenderly touched Siroos’s tensed shoulder.
"I knew you would bring her back. She is resilient, she will survive this."
Siroos’s hands shook as he removed the lid of the container and salvaged some of the balm on his index finger.
"She will," his voice broke.
Haylia observed how Siroos was struggling to keep his hands stable.
"Let me?" Haylia rubbed his back.
"No, ma. She is my mate. It’s my duty to tend to her. I would like some privacy. Faris needs you, right now. He has brought his mate back but he is in a very vulnerable state right now. Help and advise him and ensure his mate and her family feel welcomed and safe. No one can know her part in Ara’s death or pack members will turn hostile towards her. I will hold a meeting later," Siroos informed his mother. She squeezed her son’s shoulder in one last effort of assurance and got up.
"Don’t worry, no one will harm them. Call me if you need anything."
Haylia left the chamber, giving Siroos privacy and posting Ames at the end of the chamber so no one would disturb them.
Once the door had closed, Siroos slowly removed the sheet from Cassandra’s body and then peeled off that silk chemise too that reeked of the vampire’s scent. It made his nostrils burn.
She didn’t even stir.
The devastating thoughts of what Kanyon must have done to her invaded Siroos’s brain, making his blood roar as his eyes took in her soft breasts. The milky white was tinged and blotched, blue and yellow.
Even her nipples hadn’t been spared and Siroos wondered what kind of sick fantasies that man possessed.
Quietly and with extra care he spread the balm on her sensitive areas. His mind refused to picture the atrocities that were done to her and how she must have survived it.
"You will rise above it, Malakti. I know you will," his words were more of a self-assurance.
He wasn’t sure how to process what he was seeing. The tears had welled up in his melted gold-like eyes and blurred the nightmarish vision.
A single tear dropped on her chest and travelled down to where her heart lay. Cassandra’s eyes flickered open as soon as his tear reached right above her heart.
She found him holding onto her, watching her with such tenderness and vulnerability–utter brokenness and helplessness.
He had already broken down even before she could.
"Siro!" She reached out with her shaking hand and placed it on his anguished face.
He snatched her up and into his embrace, hugging her as if he would utterly lose it if he didn’t.
The mighty alpha silently bawled, resting his forehead on her shoulder. Even her saffron scent wasn’t enough to calm him today. His body trembled from the mountain of emotional trauma he was experiencing.
Siroos had tried to be strong in her absence, he had caged up his:
Emotions
Feelings
Fears
Sentiments
But now the cage has been broken and they flitted out like a freed bird.
Unbound and wild.
Unleashed and untamed.
Cassandra could feel every emotion he was going through like millions of invisible threads that connected them, each one carrying a different feeling.
Each rode into her very veins and seeped into her heart, brutally aching it, for he was crying in her arms, and it felt wrong, so wrong.
And she knew why. He had seen the wounds up close.
"Shhh! I am fine." Cassandra tried to assure him. Her hands traced his back in soothing touches, but the emotions filled with salty water didn’t halt falling from his grieved eyes.
He knew these images he would have to carry to his death bed, the images of his bruised mate.
Why couldn’t he protect her?
How he wished to snuff out the light of that wretched vampire.
The thought of him forcing himself on her was like a visceral pang that stabbed the Alpha’s heart on an infinite loop.
He was lost for words, any word, every word. He just wanted to hold her and cry.
"Siro! Please!" Cassandra begged, unable to hear his cries anymore.
It was shredding her apart as if her heart was being slashed.
The warmth finally wriggled inside her heart, the warmth of the power of love she held.
Her arms tightened around him and her powers shot out like a ball of comfort and love she held for her mate. Letting it slowly ease into his heart, to simmer down the volatile emotions he was experiencing.
Like magic, her love surrounded him and his nerves calmed, heart eased and the shaking of his body halted.
"Malakti!" He whispered ever so adoringly, loosening his hold on her and lifting his head from her shoulder.
Cassandra grabbed his face in her hands and slowly wiped away the remaining tears on his sunken cheeks with her thumbs.
"Your Malakti is here, don’t cry," she lovingly whispered.
Concerned violet found the crimsoned gold.
He found himself slowly nodding at her hearty request and lifted his eyes to watch her.
The gold and the violet amalgamated in that instant.
Sage and saffron infused.
Straw gold and brown interlocked as their foreheads connected.
And then the world burst into flames of passion as their wanton lips merged together into a soul-consuming kiss.
Cassandra loudly gasped at the feeling that erupted, the feelings that had been missing.
Siroos groaned, how he had longed for her, and spent sleepless nights.
The mates were back in each other’s arms, the place where they belonged.
