Reborn As Cursed Alpha's Mate
Chapter 150: Your Sister Is Dead

Chapter 150: Your Sister Is Dead

The fiery portal opened into a dark room and Prince Kanyon stepped out. Stephanie was perched on her plush royal chair, her shadows scattered all around like creepy nightcrawlers.

Her expectant eyes landed on the prince as he lazily sauntered out and closed the portal behind him by flicking his fingers off the hand which carried the ring with a huge blue stone.

"You are late?" She irritably spoke, getting up from her chair. Her long, dark, messy hair waved behind her. Her black gown seemed to have been sewn against her skin, it was so tight and pushed up her breasts.

Kanyon smokily smiled, the corners of his lips tipped upwards. Those vermilion orbs of his seemed to glow with a light of their own.

"Patience is a trait you didn’t seem to have learnt," he spoke lightly but there was a tinge of annoyance. He didn’t like being dictated by anyone.

Stephanie waved her hand in front of his face and impatiently said.

"Nah! I get everything done quickly. Did you do it or not?"

Kanyon moved past her, away from her suffocating presence and settled in the comfortable upholstered armchair with cushion, she had just vacated.

He spread his legs and steepled his hands while luxuriously leaning back. Stephanie turned to face him.

"I got your sister as promised. I abducted her from that swanky Alpha. Relax."

Stephanie’s dark eyes lighted at his words, and the mouth, which had forgotten to smile, twisted into an evil smile.

"Proof?" She held out her hand with a raised right brow.

Kanyon reached inside the holster on his belt and plucked out the wrapped golden locks he had forcefully plucked from Cassandra’s head and extended them towards Stephanie.

She was quick to snatch them from his hands and greedily took a whiff of them, confirming they belonged to her sister.

Outside her door, Razial had appointed a special mage who specialised in slowing his heartbeats to a minimum. He remained undetected and could easily spy on creatures like vampires and shifters who had heightened senses.

This information pricked his extra sensitive ears and he understood this was vital. Without waiting to hear the rest of what they were about to discuss he ran off to reveal it to Razial before he was captured and didn’t get the chance.

"Tell me you ended her in front of that monster; tell me you made him watch; tell me he screamed the same way I did," she raged, her hand tightening into a fist around Cassandra’s hair. The very veins in her neck stood out. Her hair rippled as her shadows flared to life and stood behind like some dark sentinels with no souls.

Kanyon snorted at her delusions. Those red streaks shadowed his left eye and kissed the tip of his sharp nose.

"As tempting as that thought is, he is a fully grown dragon and even I couldn’t have taken him and his whole pack on at the same time. I took her away and drained the very life out of her."

He paused, watching Stephanie closely, he could sense the blood pumping rapidly by her heart. This piece of news excited her.

"Now that his mate is gone, he will go crazy without her. Shifters hardly survive if their mates are taken away or die. He will be the most vulnerable now," he concluded, tilting his head just an inch.

"What if he came for you? He may look like a brute, but he is smart; he will eventually figure it out." Stephanie took a lazy step closer to Kanyon.

He clicked his tongue, his fingers drumming against each other.

"I am counting on that. Let him come to us, we will be prepared. It will be easier to capture him in our territory. I have made all kinds of arrangements to welcome him. Once I do, he will be all yours to do as you please. Maybe we can torture him together," Kanyon presented his sinister plan, the malicious intent was reflected in his cold eyes.

Stephanie meandered even closer to Kanyon with a smile so wide plastered on her face that it almost reached her ears. She only halted when her knees touched his bent ones.

"I like the way you think, Kanyon. Just like your brother, you never disappoint." She bent over in front of him, letting her cleavage be right in front of his eyes. Reaching forward she brushed away that red streak from his dangerously charismatic face and spoke again.

"You resemble Kamyn so much, my heart aches." She leisurely traced her index finger on the hard contours of his face, tracing every steely edge of his face.

Kanyon sat still, unblinking, seeing and observing where she was going with this. His hands now carelessly rested on the armrests of the chair. He felt nothing for this woman. She used to belong to his brother and he had no inclination to own her by any means.

"Can you touch me? With the very hands which snuffed the life out of my dear little sister? Did she wail and beg you to not kill her? Did you choke her the way her mate choked the man I loved? The way he choked your brother," she asked in a ragged voice, her eyes shadowed by vulnerable emotions.

Kanyon couldn’t help but smile darkly at the way her thoughts worked.

"With pleasure!"

Kanyon lifted his right hand and slowly snaked it around Stephanie’s neck, his fingers loosely resting against her smooth skin, feeling her rapid pulse underneath; the vein throbbed, pumping that red nectar he loved above all.

"Yes! I did," he half lied but told the truth about the choking part.

"Tighter, Kanyon. Hold me tighter, let me feel alive. I am dead like a corpse. Make me feel something, anything," she begged him, desperation crawling in her voice as her eyes wouldn’t waver from him.

Kanyon knew Stephanie was dark and demented just like him. She possessed no light he could snuff out, no fear he could relish in. She enjoyed inflicting pain and welcomed it too. Kamyn had told him how wild she was in bed.

Although Kanyon felt nothing for her, unlike how his heart desired Cassandra. He obliged and tightened his grip around her neck while placing his thumb on the pulsating vein in her neck and rupturing it with his sharp nail.

She shuddered sinfully in his hold and slumped on his legs, holding her shadows back. Her eyes rolled over in pleasure of being choked as her toes curled.

Kanyon slackened his hold and she gasped, taking in a huge gulp of air. She choked out.

"This was heaven and hell, all blended together. I want more. I want you, all of you."

Opening her legs, she straddled him, her arms going behind his neck while her popping bosom was right in his face as her loose hair curtained both of them from all sides.

Kanyon shook his head slowly. Nothing was enticing about this woman, except maybe her blood. She was his brother’s lover and not his.

"I wish to show you my appreciation, Kanyon. Let us tangle tonight." Her lips parted, and she leaned down, trying to kiss him, but Kanyon shifted his head aside just in time.

Stephanie was offended at being jilted like that.

"As tempting as your offer is, I don’t do this lovey-dovey. I barely tolerate the touch of others for the sake of it. If you want to show appreciation you can offer me something I actually desire."

His eyes wavered to her neck where he had punctured her vein and now the blood oozed out of it, fueling his hunger. How he envisioned sinking his fangs into her soft skin and having a taste.

Her scent was not as enticing as Cassandra’s but he would make do.

"Ah! Kamyn always said that you abhorred physical contact, that you didn’t have a lover or went to prostitutes. I found it so hard to believe, I guess it’s true. Drink up, you have earned my blood."

She sweetly smiled and tilted her neck for him.

But Kanyon grabbed her hair and yanked her head back, bending her backwards, exposing all of her neck to himself.

"Apologies in advance, I won’t be gentle," his dark and velvety voice rang out as he opened his mouth and ferociously bit into her soft flesh, taking in her vermilion liquid.

"Ah!" Stephanie shuddered in his arms, her shadows shifted restlessly as her back arched.

The taste was disappointing but then he had been finding every blood type bland from the moment he had taken in Cassandra’s blood. That woman had crawled into his thoughts and he wished to own her. Even when Stephanie was in his arms, offering herself up, he couldn’t help but think about Cassandra and her soft body.

He knew he needed to own her body, that pleasure so many women had tried to offer him was never as inviting as it was with someone not ready for it.

Letting Stephanie go, he stood up, pushing her off his lap.

"I have to go, will be in touch."

"Huh!" Stephanie didn’t understand what got into him suddenly. Without giving a response he opened the portal and disappeared, leaving her into the darkness that was her life now.
