He glanced back, ready to make his escape at speed, but out of the corner of his eye, he exchanged a fleeting glance with the beings from the Angel Camp who brushed past him during his escape.

In that instant, Jia Yan revealed a kindly expression to them, albeit brief, and possibly too fleeting for either side to make out the other’s face, but he did it all the same.

The beings from the Angel Camp were rare friends in the lonely life he had led.

This meeting, Jia Yan had a premonition, might be the last time they ever saw each other.

"Goodbye, my friends..."

He whispered softly to himself from the bottom of his heart.

Perhaps it was because the members of the Angel Camp affected his speed and vigilance, a swiftly approaching claw from behind caught him unawares!
