Chapter 794: Chapter 4 Absorption [Seeking Subscription]_1
When Jia Yan heard Tang Eltangz’s words, a certain strangeness crossed his Compound Eyes, and he voiced some requirements.
He hadn’t planned on carrying out his tasked this quickly, but due to pressing circumstances, he didn’t have the luxury of time.
A promising mineral site was worth taking a little risk for!
The strong ones, particularly in their later stages, couldn’t only rely on fate. Their strength must come from careful planning and initiative; if Jia Yan still relied on lucky chances as he did in the early stages of his mutation, his pace of progression might just come to a halt!
Indeed, he had just arrived here and should have kept a low profile, taking in the splendor and sophistication of this celebrated civilization before making any decision.
But Jia Yan knew, that somethings, if not sought after, would be missed when the opportunity passed.
Not many days passed.
"Lord, we have exhausted our strength to gather these materials you requested," an elder of the Trustee Species said, watching his people operate the machines to transport bags of goods, explaining it all to Jia Yan.
"I am already aware of the work you’ve done for me on the Tianlong Star, and the extent to which you’ve accomplished this task is satisfactory to me, thank you!"
Jia Yan’s Compound Eyes gleamed brightly; he had no reason to distrust the elder’s words.
Through several days of understanding, he finally came to know - these Trustees were in a similar situation to his. They were also expelled from their homes and had found temporary asylum on this planet.
The Trustees, in the context of this interstellar civilization, was a sorrowful race. For hundreds of thousands of years in this starfield, they had been an inferior species, often subjected to humiliation.
This time, one of their enemy’s attacks triggered their civilization’s breakdown, and many Trustees fled in all directions, this group included.
Upon reading their history, Jia Yan started to speculate about their emergence tens of thousands of years ago.
As a Mosquito, even though Jia Yan had evolved considerably, some of his instincts hadn’t diminished; therefore, he was able to sense a certain kinship between the Trustees, the Earth people, and the Auster people, from the faint bodily sensations transmitted in the air.
No matter the reason, seeing a possible related species in such a remote location, and even encountering a life form similar to his own original form, the ’Mosquito Rider’, in this species made Jia Yan view these Trustees with favor.
The elder was right, this group of Trustees was struggling to survive on the Tianlong Star. They’ve managed to acquire some land through painstaking efforts, but it came with many restrictions. Despite these, they continued to grow steadily.
Despite already trying so hard, they could only manage to purchase a portion of the materials Jia Yan needed.
Something is better than nothing!
Waiting for the Trustees to leave, Jia Yan looked at the bags of materials on the ground, feeling somewhat excited.
"Even though it’s not much, it should be enough for me to recover some energy!"
Jia Yan used his Brainwave Power, causing the bags of materials to fly up, one by one.
The seals on the bags automatically broke open, and the Big Mosquito didn’t need to inspect the contents to know what was inside!
These substances were, in fact, what Jia Yan had instructed Tang Eltangz to record in the mineralogy books during his resting period!
Many of those he had guessed right, but some he hadn’t. Some were useful while others were useless to him.
However, these bags of materials, totaling over five hundred kilograms, contained a few items that could help in recovering the energy of his currently weak body.
The Evolutionary Creatures are terrifying like that: as long as they obtain suitable substances and can somehow extract their energy, no danger can stand in their way!
After separating the materials, Jia Yan finally let out a long sigh of relief.
"Of the five hundred kilograms of material, about half, or roughly two hundred kilograms, can be put to use. This is quite a lot!"
Jia Yan did not know how much effort the Trustees spent to gather these materials. That did nothing to decrease his favor towards them.
"Some of these materials are in solid state and hard to absorb, and a part of it are liquids, which includes the Liquid Volcanic Magma of a unique volcano on this planet. I believe that this is the most beneficial substance for me at this moment. However, I’m curious as to how the magma of a volcano can remain liquid once exposed to the air and not solidify."
After sorting all the materials, Jia Yan arranged them in order of priority. He discarded the material that was useless to him, and some of these discarded materials were minerals that might contain useful energy.
Because they were too troublesome to absorb!
"Alright, let’s start with the simplest ones. At least I can recover some energy, else I wouldn’t have the power to devour the remaining ores."
Jia Yan moved his slender mouthparts gently in front of the barrel filled with volcanic magma.
This barrel of volcanic magma might have cost the Trustees a great deal to obtain as this simple energy source would certainly be highly coveted on this planet. They must have paid a huge price to get this supply that benefits many species.
