The War Pet Arena in the Inner City seemed far more advanced compared to its counterparts elsewhere. Its architectural design was distinctly different compared to the arenas in the Outer City. It presented itself in a distinctly clear and neatly-arranged, rectangular style.

Unlike the retro style of the Outer City, this place had a bit of luxury to it. Of course, this was all designed to fit in with the rest of the local architectural landscape. A lone structure with such architectural properties would stick out too much otherwise.

Jia Yan treaded carefully through the buildings. He could not afford to damage any of the structures within the city. An inadvertent accident, such as knocking down a storefront’s signboard, could lead to a legal dispute!

It was a great sacrifice for him to exercise such caution in his quest to regain his strength!

Since his reincarnation, Jia Yan had adopted a maverick way of conducting himself. However, during his time on this planet, he suppressed all his usual tendencies. Not only was he not at full strength yet, but he also knew that there existed beings more powerful than him during his prime, hence he didn’t let loose as usual.

He followed closely behind Gutan. Daphne was seated atop him. This lady has gained quite a bit of fame recently as the true master of the assassin. This was a surprise to many war pet enthusiasts, knowing that Daphne is a female! Even in interstellar civilization, the gender roles were similar to those on Earth. It was uncommon for females to have an interest in war pets, let alone raise such a powerful one. This was indeed rare for a female!

What the Auster males liked even more was the fact that, although this female did not resemble a purebred Auster, her beauty and charm were universally appreciated. Even though Daphne never accepted interviews, many enthusiasts shared sensational photos of her on the city’s network system.

Her charms were such that a number of Austers, who didn’t even follow the war pet battles, recognized her.

It seems that beauty was universally appreciated on all planets. Unlike Jia Yan, who had to fight tooth and nail to gain recognition!

However, what nobody knew was that Daphne, whom the Auster males drooled over, was not the real master of the ’assassin’. Instead, Daphne was supposed to call Jia Yan ’Master’! She was actually a prisoner of war. It wasn’t that Daphne refused to give interviews, but Big Mosquito wouldn’t allow her to interact with other living beings!

"Look everyone, entering the arena is the war pet from the Outer City - Assassin! As its name suggests, it has indeed become the most formidable assassin! Look at its powerful legs, and its agile shape, what a rare beauty!"

The commentator on the platform was very expressive in his commentary. He was from the Inner City and much more experienced compared to the commentator from the Outer City.

Jia Yan strolled into the arena, familiar with the process, having undergone it no less than ten times.

Soon after his entry, his opponent - a beast resembling a leopard, although not particularly large - also made an appearance.

The leopard was extremely swift.

However, Jia Yan was unphased. He casually surveyed the spectators to look out for any potential threats.

"Hmm...?"

Jia Yan’s gaze abruptly focused. He spotted a massive white figure at the top of the viewing stand.

Despite being of similar size to Jia Yan, the creature was definitely of the Beast Class. Compared to other pets of similar size, its restrained temperament, and the substantial aura of power it exuded, made Jia Yan realize that this was no ordinary contender!

As Jia Yan surveyed the creature, the latter seemed to sense Jia Yan’s gaze and quickly looked back. Their eyes met in an instant!

"Huh!" The white creature on the spectator stand uttered a soft sound of surprise.

Under the effect of his Brainwave Power, it wouldn’t appear to anyone else as a white creature, but merely as a large creature. However, the moment Big Mosquito’s gaze fell on it, it seemed to realize that its Brainwave Power camouflage was ineffective against him!

"Interesting." The white figure seemed intrigued.

After a momentary standoff in mid-air, Jia Yan slowly averted his gaze, as the war pet battle had already started!

The leopard-like war pet, with its four eyes, had already roared and pounced, capitalizing on Jia Yan’s brief distraction!

Jia Yan pulled himself together, trying his best to not look at the white monster. He also noticed that around the creature’s body, there was an extremely strong Brainwave Power. But this power couldn’t defend against his Brainwave Power, which allowed Jia Yan to see what was really going on inside at first glance.
