Chapter 1438: Chapter 50: I’ll Be Right Back [Requesting Official Subscription]
"L... Lord, there seems to be an invader confronting our barrier. We have been here for several months, and have never encountered such an event..." The faces of the Earth newcomers who led Jia Yan here turned pale.
The mysterious invaders from the outside world, to them, were almost like the terrifying figures from legends. Each time they appeared, no less than one or two bases would be destroyed before they could be driven away.
And this time, being so close, it seems the target for destruction is indeed Base 3918.
Yet despite their nervousness, Jia Yan beside them remained indifferent.
After all, to Jia Yan, the strong beings from the outside world were entities he had seen many times. Facing a few of them was nothing.
His eyes merely flickered with a sharp gleam.
"Could these invaders be individuals from the so-called Biochemical Empire?"
To Jia Yan’s understanding, the Biochemical Empire was one of the external forces that infiltrated the entire Orion Arm. However, such reasoning fails to explain things entirely. The Biochemical Empire and Auster Empire have both existed for many years, and Jia Yan has kept the events on Grey-Yellow Star in mind.
For centuries, the Biochemical Empire was seen as a powerful empire by all civilizations within Earth’s starry sky. Yet such power was mainly against the Orion Arm, and possibly only against the Auster Empire. After hundreds of years, if the opponent could truly dispatch an external strong presence, Auster Empire would have perished long ago.
"No matter what, I’ll soon find out who these beings are. I hope it isn’t an existence beyond my capability to handle."
Jia Yan came to the Kawai Defense Line specifically to see what kind of beings the so-called invaders were. If there truly were terrifyingly powerful entities that could enter the Orion Arm, Jia Yan felt that it’s better for Earth to be relocated while the civilization’s foundation hasn’t been firmly established, possibly thousands of light-years away.
For instance, the Northern Star Domain could be a viable option!
"This... this... this monster moves so fast, faster than our battles. It’s heading toward our base!"
The reporting intelligence officer soldier looked at the bright dot on the screen in terror, almost in a state of panic.
"We’ll attack, quickly, arrange a team to intercept them. Don’t worry, as long as we hold them back, our strong Lord will be here soon."
The base’s leader, although previously harshly lectured by Jia Yan, still retained the basic abilities and promptly issued orders upon hearing the urgent battle situation.
He glanced at Jia Yan, seemingly with words to say, but swallowed them upon meeting Jia Yan’s gaze.
"Heh."
Jia Yan laughed.
"Lord Jia Yan, what should we do? It’s said that the monsters from outside are terrifying. Sometimes their strong ones can annihilate our Respect Level existences. Last month, one such existence was killed. You..."
A tall young human soldier beside him seemed to lack confidence in Jia Yan’s power and uncertainly looked at Jia Yan.
In his opinion, it might be better for Jia Yan to leave now, and of course, take them with him. Although they had lived in the base for several months, there was no attachment, and abandoning it wouldn’t cause sadness.
The new Earth recruits all looked at Jia Yan in the same way.
Of course, they had a hope in their hearts, but such hope was unspoken.
Unexpectedly, Jia Yan seemed to understand their thoughts.
At this moment, Jia Yan continued to smile, then shook his head, "You youngsters actually want me to deal with the invaders, don’t you? Just say what you think; otherwise, you won’t become strong ones."
Jia Yan understood this group’s thoughts well. They wanted to show the mocking Earth soldiers that Earth’s Guardian God, ’Lord Jia Yan,’ indeed possessed powerful strength.
"Alright, all of you, just wait and see the show. I’ll be right back."
Jia Yan glanced at the eyes focused on him, revealing a smile on his human face.
With one step, he directly entered subspace right before everyone’s eyes.
"Uh?"
The beings observing this scene, including the new Earth recruits, were all extremely shocked.
It is known that subspace talent and combat strategy, even in the Genius Battlefield, aren’t something every space talent strong being can wield, let alone a place like the Orion Arm where no one even knows of subspace?
"How did Lord Jia Yan disappear!?"
The new Earth recruits stared at the spot where Jia Yan vanished, then stared in astonishment.
"How terrifying, that Lord Jia Yan is indeed unfathomable."
A base deputy revealed a look of shock beside the high-ranking official who was slapped by Jia Yan.
"Hmph, such a trick is ordinary for strong ones. He’s merely showing off; perhaps he’s even fled by now."
The high-ranking official slapped by Jia Yan had a slight change in expression, but still maintained a stubbornly defiant attitude and spoke sternly.
Of course, having been mocked by Jia Yan in such a manner, he naturally wouldn’t have much goodwill towards Jia Yan and attempted to malign him as much as possible.
However, this so-called high-level attitude did not concern Jia Yan at all.
After all, what Divine Spirit would care about a mere mortal?
Jia Yan navigated through subspace.
"I didn’t rush into this battle recklessly. Beforehand, I saw the surveillance. Although the opponent is fast, at most he possesses the strength of an external Honorable existence, and he’s not even a talented one. Compared to those inside the Orion Arm, he is certainly much stronger, but my avatar can definitely defeat him now."
Jia Yan decided to fight only after assessing the opponent’s strength.
At the edge of Orion Arm, there was a terrifying scene of heavenly might.
This sight was so fearsome that hundreds of light-years around Orion Arm were enveloped by this heavenly might scene.
It was like a barrier, isolating Orion Arm from the surrounding starry sky.
Such a spectacle, even ordinary creatures who hadn’t experienced it before, would be stunned. Jia Yan was likewise astounded upon hearing this fact from the envoy of the Great Empire, showing a ’seeing ghost’ kind of expression.
This sort of thing doesn’t appear casually; Jia Yan immediately thought of that dreadful Evolution Beast Predecessor from tens of thousands of years ago, who fought against the top tier Strong Ones in the Milky Way. From the Genius Battlefield data, the battle started at Orion Arm and extended all the way to the Genius Battlefield.
As a result, that battle created the unique scenery in the Genius Battlefield, and there is a similar scene in Orion Arm. Jia Yan is not at all surprised by this.
Of course, the idea that a simple Cosmic Strongman could create such a scene was something Jia Yan still found incredibly terrifying.
And as Jia Yan rushed forward, at the edge of the barrier, a shadow moving at the speed of light was quickly flying.
In front of him were several battleships resisting his approach, but this shadow merely swiftly pierced through these battleships, causing them to explode.
"Too weak, too weak. This time, the area I entered is so weak that there isn’t even a decent strong person. Last time, at least three Respect Levels inside Orion Arm joined forces against me, and now I hope to kill one or two here, but it’s been so long, and I haven’t encountered a single one."
Inside the shadow was a bird-like monster, flying rapidly, and upon seeing battleships and creatures, it flew towards them and annihilated them.
"So exhilarating. I never had such a killing spree in the outside world. You must know that my strength there is merely that of an ordinary Honorable existence. Even as an ordinary strong person, I don’t dare to go on such a rampage, or it’d be suicidal. But here, it’s different."
The bird-like monster laughed heartily, seemingly finding joy after entering the Orion Arm Barrier.
Of course, for someone at this level, viewed by Jia Yan, they might be at the lowest rung in the outside world, but inside the Orion Arm, they become extremely powerful.
"There’s another battleship over there, die!"
With a single strike, the bird-like monster bombarded a defensive line battleship, blocking his path, then saw another ship aiming at him from hundreds of kilometers away, and angrily charged towards it.
With this charge, he rapidly traversed hundreds of kilometers, revealing that the opponent indeed had some degree of Space Talent, yet it did not reach the level where Jia Yan could enter subspace.
Inside that battleship, seeing this monster suddenly rushing towards them, the crew monsters let out terrified screams.
Such a fearsome existence, to them, seemed like a Divine Spirit, and no battleship could withstand such an impact.
"Flee, flee, the opponent is approaching."
"Impossible, our speed is actually slower than theirs."
Just as this battleship was on the collision course with that bird-like monster, he reached its front, almost at the moment of impact!
In front of that 150-meter-large bird-like monster, a slowly opening space portal appeared in front of the ship.
From within this space, stepped out a tranquil human-formed presence.
"Hmm? In this little Orion Arm, there’s still someone with Space Talent?" The bird-like monster’s expression changed instantly upon seeing this human arrive via subspace at the collision path.
Then a ruthless expression surfaced in his heart.
"No matter your talent, if you dare stand before me, you must die. Perish along with this battleship!"
With cold determination, his collision speed increased.
Simultaneously, inside the base, the official who Jia Yan had slapped hard was saying, "That Jia Yan from Earth Civilization must have fled."
But upon seeing the man who stepped out in front of the screen, his mouth slammed shut.
Yet seeing Jia Yan actually blocking the massive monster, he began mocking again.
