In the universe starry sky, a supply fleet from the Doom Squad was slowly navigating through space.
"What happened last time on The Star of Carnival was just too much. So many guests actually died, and now the guest flow to Carnival Star has been seriously affected. Really quite excessive."
"Haha, I even heard that the troublemaker is currently rooted on the edge of the Dark Realm not far from us. We, the Doom Squad, clearly know he’s here, yet don’t dare to retaliate. Don’t know what the higher-ups are thinking."
"Maybe it’s because his strength is too overwhelming?"
"How could that be? I heard they are just two Secondary-level beings. The two of them might team up to fight a Semi-permanent star Lord to a standstill, but doesn’t our Doom Squad have more than one Semi-permanent star Lord? Send just two, and maybe they could wipe them out."
Inside the Doom Squad’s supply ship, two Secondary-level beings were conversing, and their topic pertained to Jia Yan.
"Anyway, his matter isn’t something ordinary Secondary-level beings like us can deal with. Whatever, forget about it."
What these two beings likely didn’t know was that the person giving the Doom Squad such a headache—"Mo Ke"—was watching their fleet’s movements from a starry sky not far away, using pre-installed detectors.
Jia Yan was aboard a large battleship, surrounded by several female Secondary-tier monsters. However, Jia Yan didn’t like the females among cosmic creatures. Otherwise, he might feel quite fortunate.
He had only recently arrived at this location.
It was clear that the so-called "Rouge Power" had laid out considerable contingency plans in this area, including setting up long-range detectors well in advance.
As he observed the Doom Squad’s slowly advancing supply fleet on a giant screen for a few minutes, the voice of Fina came from behind.
"Sir Mo Ke, our Rouge Power’s Semi-permanent star Lord has arrived."
"Oh? I’ll go meet this senior."
Jia Yan and Fina moved together to the massive battleship’s hatch.
There, they saw a single-person battleship flying toward them.
On the single-person battleship were several presences of Secondary-level strong ones, alongside the presence of a Semi-permanent star being.
"That would be one of our Rouge Power’s Semi-permanent star seniors."
When the geniuses from the battleship disembarked, Fina introduced to Jia Yan the one whose power was most fearsome among them.
Jia Yan glanced at her and then nodded slightly.
The person was a mid-talent Semi-permanent star strongman. Yet, Jia Yan felt that compared to the Doom Squad’s dinosaur monster he had fought before, this being was significantly weaker.
"Sir Mo Ke, we are truly grateful for your acceptance of our invitation. On behalf of Rouge Power, I thank you sincerely." The female Semi-permanent star monster flew in front of Jia Yan, speaking with a somewhat respectful tone similar to addressing an equal.
This behavior from the Semi-permanent star strongman was not surprising. After all, Jia Yan, along with his avatar, had wreaked havoc at the Doom Squad’s Carnival Star. Carnival Star was considered one of Doom Squad’s major strongholds. For Jia Yan, merely a Secondary-level being, to escape unscathed after such chaos was an astonishing feat.
Moreover, this female monster had heard Fina’s firsthand accounts, understanding that Jia Yan’s power was not far off from an average mid-tier Semi-permanent star genius. This naturally earned him due respect.
"Senior, there’s no need for such courtesy. I’ve had my own disputes with the Doom Squad; otherwise, I wouldn’t dare cross such a major faction."
Jia Yan returned the polite words.
After exchanging pleasantries for a while, they got down to business.
"So, Sir Mo Ke, you’ve personally witnessed the Doom Squad’s supply fleet. What’s your opinion? Should we go for a direct attack, or set an ambush along their route?"
The female monster seemed to embody a characteristic common among many cosmic females: a lack of firm decision-making. Since she had acknowledged Jia Yan’s abilities, she appeared somewhat reliant on his judgment.
"Regarding an ambush, I’ve studied the route ahead of their fleet and found few suitable locations. Besides, if we cannot strike within three days, they’ll enter the Doom Squad’s sphere of influence. By then, even if we attack, their reinforcements will arrive quickly, making the situation unpredictable."
Jia Yan shared his analysis.
"So, you’re saying we must act within the next three days?"
"Precisely. I’ve thought about it, and tomorrow would be ideal. The closer we get to their stronghold, the riskier it becomes. But this decision depends on your faction’s approval; I’m merely an auxiliary role carrying out a task."
After Jia Yan shared his opinion, the female Semi-permanent star monster hesitated and asked him to wait.
She seemed to be reporting something to specific individuals. She entered her battleship for quite some time before finally emerging.
"Sir Jia Yan, we’ve agreed. We’ll act tomorrow."
Jia Yan shook his head in slight exasperation. No wonder there weren’t many strong females among the universe’s elite—it turned out their indecision was a contributing factor.
After receiving orders, the entire fleet began mobilizing.
Most of them were female, and their interest in combat was minimal. Jia Yan even observed a few Secondary-level female monsters, during breaks, heading to the edges of battleships to retch repeatedly due to nerves.
Of course, Jia Yan didn’t mock their reactions too much. He simply felt a bit introspective; so, even among the cosmic elite, there were those averse to battle. It shattered his preconception that anyone who reached this level, male or female, would inherently be warlike.
Time quickly passed.
"Sir Mo Ke, we should depart."
At the appointed time, Rouge Power’s Semi-permanent star genius arrived outside Jia Yan’s battleship, waiting for him to emerge.
As the only strongest male in the fleet, Jia Yan had unconsciously become a figure of reliance among the females.
Even the Semi-permanent star-level female monster demonstrated a similar dependency.
She was a butterfly-like creature with radiant, colorful wings. As she waited for Jia Yan, her wings fluttered brilliantly, radiating a shimmer.
"Senior, you’ve waited long."
Jia Yan and his avatar flew out of the battleship together, surveying their surroundings.
It turned out the combat forces were split into two formations. One comprised strong ones, with Jia Yan among them. This group fought using their physical bodies, without the aid of battleships.
The other side consisted of battleships offering long-range assistance. Their pilots were Secondary-level, but none possessed significant combat power. Their roles were mostly auxiliary.
"The strongest member of the opposing supply fleet is a mid-talent Semi-permanent star being. If I join forces with you and your peers, we should be able to suppress or even eliminate him. The remaining opponents will likely collapse without a fight."
Rouge Power’s Semi-permanent star female monster explained her battle plan to Jia Yan.
Jia Yan couldn’t help but bitterly smile as he listened.
It wasn’t that he disagreed entirely; he simply found the plan naive—almost laughably simplistic.
"Sir Mo Ke, please assist our forces in securing victory. Let my husband—oh, I mean, let the world see our Rouge Power’s combat capabilities."
The Semi-permanent star female monster inadvertently revealed her true motivations, making Jia Yan sigh once more. So, her objective was to earn male recognition.
"Their capabilities aren’t exactly reliable. But regardless, if unexpected turns occur in battle, I at least have the means to escape unscathed."
Jia Yan mused to himself with a calm expression, especially after receiving ten Space Stones from Fina as part of preparation. His hidden contingency gave him absolute confidence—no matter how dire the surprise, he believed he could handle it.
As for the exact nature of this contingency plan...
Only Jia Yan knew.
Millions of kilometers away, a small supply fleet slowly traversed the void.
Although this fleet was relatively compact, virtually no one dared lay hands on it. This was due to a terrifying brainwave power emanating from the fleet, spreading through the cosmos. The criminal bands sensing this influence dared not approach.
Because this brainwave power belonged to a mid-talent Semi-permanent star genius!
At the center of the supply fleet aboard its primary battleship, a pure white monster gently exhaled, icy streams subtly flowing from its mouth and squirming in the vacuum.
At a certain moment, the being slowly lifted its head.
It gazed off in a specific direction beyond the battleship and faintly chuckled...
"Sir Jia Yan, our speed is thrice that of the opposition’s fleet. The expected combat location is at Starfield Point 2581."
Within the Rouge Power fleet, Jia Yan stood beside the Semi-permanent star female monster at a strategic location.
He studied the battle sand table while plotting the operation.
Jia Yan faintly sensed something amiss.
Yet, after contemplating briefly, he couldn’t pinpoint exactly what was wrong.
"This way, we can obliterate the enemy at Starfield Point 5291, achieving at least an eighty percent annihilation rate of their members." The Semi-permanent star female monster grew more confident as she spoke, as though victory was already within reach.
"Sir Mo Ke, what do you think of this arrangement?" She suddenly consulted Jia Yan.
"Oh, it’s not bad. Ms. Xu Minfu, I think I’ll head out to my combat post now. Please excuse me."
After voicing his thoughts, Jia Yan immediately walked out of the War Analysis Room.
"What kind of man is this? Other male supporters of the Dark Realm factions usually can’t wait to converse with us further, yet Mo Ke is so unlike a typical male."
Inside the Tactical Analysis Room, a Secondary-level monster muttered angrily while quietly gossiping with her sisters.
"Don’t say that. Sir Jia Yan is likely just that way by nature. In the upcoming battle, he might contribute immensely—perhaps even more than me. Show him proper respect." The Semi-permanent star female monster instantly reprimanded her subordinates and demanded they be respectful toward Jia Yan.
As the strongest being in the Rouge fleet, she held the deepest understanding of Jia Yan’s prowess. Though she didn’t believe Jia Yan could rival her, she absolutely recognized his ability to withstand a mid-talent Semi-permanent star genius. At worst, he could escape—and that level of strength in a Secondary-level being was already extraordinary.
"What exactly feels off..."
