Jia Yan estimated that the Semi-permanent Star Genius behind him, investigating and collecting remains at the explosion site, would waste some time at least.

Only after that would they search toward the direction of the Star Man Faction, by which time Jia Yan might have already completed the Mercenary Organization’s mission and left the Star Man Faction.

With the overly wooden High-leveled Talent Sub-level Powerhouse behind him, Jia Yan arrived above Xing Lang Star.

"Mister Jia Yan, the mission is about to start, please regroup with us."

Just as he arrived at Xing Lang Star, he received a communication message.

After replying with a message stating he would come immediately, Jia Yan hurried to the base of the Elderwood where the Mercenary Organization was located.

The entire Guangmao Forest resembled a range of gigantic mountains, with trees towering thousands of meters high. Beneath them lay a blistering hot climate, while their tops were frigid and snow-covered.

Jia Yan stood outside the Mercenary Organization’s small store, seeing seven or eight monsters gathered on the plaza.

These seven or eight monsters were all of Sub-level Powerhouse Level, with two exuding a terrifyingly potent aura, seemingly top-tier Intermediate Talent Geniuses.

"He’s here."

The elderly figure from the Mercenary Organization, leading this group of Sub-level Talent Geniuses, proudly looked up at Jia Yan flying down from the sky.

"Wasn’t it mentioned that he would come alone? Why is there someone following him?" asked a monster resembling an elephant, perplexed, as it questioned the elder.

"Perhaps it’s his friend. Since the name of this Strong One isn’t listed in the contract, I won’t include him in the payment tally," replied the elder indifferently.

"Mister Jia Yan, you’re arriving somewhat later than expected." The elder stepped forward and reprimanded Jia Yan slightly as he descended with his Avatar subordinate.

As a Mercenary Organization, respecting deadlines was the most basic requirement for those undertaking a mission.

"Apologies. I was delayed by some matters. By the way, my friend here wishes to join as well. He doesn’t need commission payment; he will unconditionally hand over what the employer desires, keeping only other items for himself. Would that be acceptable?"

Jia Yan asked the elder responsible for the Mercenary Organization.

The elder paused briefly, then turned to glance at the elephant-like monster behind him.

Evidently, this elephant monster was the issuer of the mission.

Its strength, compared to Jia Yan’s assumptions, was slightly more intimidating: Intermediate Talent Semi-permanent Star Genius Level. However, among Intermediate Talent Semi-permanent Stars, it didn’t appear exceptional.

"Fine, I agree. But if you two dare to cause trouble, don’t blame me for killing you both." The Semi-permanent Star Genius coldly swept his gaze across Jia Yan and the High-level Talent Sub-level Powerhouse behind him, his pupils narrowing slightly, before granting approval.

It was worth noting that under normal circumstances, High-level Geniuses in the Central Star Area wouldn’t venture out for tasks. They were almost always treated as treasures by large factions, nurtured solely for cultivation and bringing prestige.

Yet here, he encountered Jia Yan and the creature following behind him, both subtly bearing traits of High Talent Powerhouses—this left the Semi-permanent Star Genius startled.

"It must be that these two high-talent geniuses are out to broaden their horizons. Ah, I hope they avoid casualties during this mission, or else their backing factions will undoubtedly emerge to haggle over everything," the elephant-like Strong One mused helplessly.

With the assembly complete, the elderly Mercenary Organization figure offered some brief explanations before retreating into the modest shop, leaving Jia Yan’s temporary team in the hands of the elephant Strong One.

"Alright, next we’ll be entering the designated location. I need you all to sign confidentiality agreements. At minimum, you must maintain secrecy about my faction for one month. After a month, the resources in the explosion area will all be collected by us completely."

The elephant Strong One then presented the confidentiality agreement and other clauses.

Jia Yan and the monsters casually signed the agreement.

When it was the turn of the High-leveled Talent Sub-level Monster behind Jia Yan, however, Jia Yan felt troubled; he didn’t even know the name of this creature he controlled.

Thus, Jia Yan reluctantly filled out "Bi Huangfu" as the name on the form.

"Lord Bi Huangfu cannot reach the Central Star Area himself—this counts as fulfilling his dream in an alternative way, I suppose," Jia Yan muttered bitterly while shaking his head.

"Alright, let’s set off."

Under the leadership of the elephant Strong One, the group of Sub-level Powerhouses ascended again.

They soared through Xing Lang Star’s atmosphere and traversed several thousand kilometers in one go.

"Mister Jia Yan, and Lord Bi Huangfu, greetings."

Just as Jia Yan was about to focus all his energy on studying the Avatar, a conciliatory voice reached his ears.

It turned out to be a gorilla-like monster in the team, a Strong Talent Genius who appeared to have just recently reached Early Sub-level.

With such strength, even the radiation from the explosion region could easily kill him—let alone the significant gap between Early Sub-level and Sub-level Peak for Intermediate Talent Genius Venerables.

"Hello." Jia Yan controlled the silent High-level Talent Avatar to behave like a cold and detached bodyguard trailing behind him, while he advanced on his own.

"Mister Jia Yan, you and Lord Bi Huangfu are the strongest in this mission team. I hope you’ll take care of me out there," the Early Sub-level presence said ingratiatingly, adding a few more sentences to his flattery. Upon noticing Jia Yan’s growing impatience, he quickly withdrew tactfully into the main group.

Jia Yan, accompanied by his Avatar, seemed to be separated from the other geniuses at the front of the team. Those Intermediate Talent members appeared part of a world utterly distinct from Jia Yan, who was of High-level Talent.

"There, you see? I told you those two wouldn’t bother responding to you."

"Heh, they’re High Talent Geniuses, you foolishly tried to ingratiate yourself and got ignored—serves you right."

A few Sub-level Powerhouses said this bluntly, their voices clearly audible to Jia Yan’s ears.

Obviously, for these non-affiliated Intermediate Talent Powerhouses, the disdain and resentment toward High Talent Geniuses were palpable.

Still, none dared provoke him outright—for they knew full well that one High-talent Genius alone could obliterate several of them.

After distancing himself from the Early Sub-level Genius, Jia Yan sealed off his own thoughts. Since the flying speed of the team wasn’t particularly rapid, it seemed reaching the destination would still take considerable time. This suited him perfectly to familiarize himself further with his Avatar’s capabilities.

"I see now—the control system for this Avatar is noticeably simpler compared to the one back on Earth," Jia Yan noted while continuing his practice routines and honing his skills, his insights deepening with every attempt.

The Sub-level Talent Powerhouses flying ahead cast puzzled glances at the Avatar trailing behind Jia Yan, observing its erratic movements—sometimes flexing a leg, other times darting abruptly.

"That Bi Huangfu guy’s mental condition must be unstable—be careful. These types of beings kill without hesitation," some murmured warily while stealing glances at ’Bi Huangfu.’

Under Jia Yan’s control, though, this Avatar refrained from any rampage-like behavior.

The stark black vacuum scenery grew monotonous after prolonged exposure, and conversations among the group began to dwindle, leaving everyone focused solely on their flight.

After roughly two days of travel had passed, the Semi-permanent Star Strong One leading the way finally broke the silence.

"Alright, we’ve arrived."

His words piqued curiosity among the Sub-level Geniuses, prompting them to look ahead into the starry abyss.

But the surroundings seemed entirely unremarkable, identical in all directions—how could this be the destination?

"Heh, there’s a concealed holographic projection here," the elephant Strong One remarked casually, lifting a remote and pressing a button.

Suddenly, the space before them became clear, revealing a massive rift about fifty kilometers wide.

"This Cosmic Explosion Hole was discovered by our faction two months ago. It’s an explosion zone caused by gravitational wave collisions. You’re all Sub-level Powerhouses, so you should recognize the risks within. Space Talent Powerhouses have an advantage here; others will need to remain cautious," the elephant Strong One explained coolly, addressing the group of Sub-level Geniuses.

"I see now—the collision of gravitational waves caused this explosion zone. With such danger inside, their faction clearly wouldn’t risk sending their own men to retrieve resources," a Strong Sub-level Genius surmised with a bitter smile.

Nevertheless, the gathered talents understood clearly—if there wasn’t danger or extraordinary circumstances involved, a faction wouldn’t publish a mission at all.

Without much resistance, and with precautions in place, the group followed the elephant Strong One, entering the enormous chasm.

Once inside mere minutes, the surrounding void experienced another shift—a holographic projection gradually enshrouded the rift entirely once more.

To everyone’s surprise, just as the projection was closing, a single-person battleship sped rapidly toward them, charging into the rift at the last moment!

"Hmph! So this is where you’re hiding—it took me long enough to find you!"

Inside the battleship, a murderous Semi-permanent Star Genius with blood-lit eyes scanned the surroundings intently.

This was the Intermediate Talent Semi-permanent Star Powerhouse, relentlessly pursuing Jia Yan for days, who had finally caught up.

Earlier, he had tracked his target within tens of thousands of kilometers, only to discover the perpetrator had slipped into this explosive gravitational anomaly without leaving a trace.

Without hesitation, the warrior piloted his battleship, surging into the rift moments before the holographically concealed entrance sealed entirely.

"Kid, I will kill you with my own hands!"

As the semi-permanent starship entered the vast fifty-kilometer chasm, a cascade of distortion forces attacked. Yet the Semi-permanent Star Genius inside fearlessly piloted the ship, recklessly crashing through everything.
