"Senior Tian Tesu, I’m just a little tired of staying with the Tianhe Force. As the saying goes, ’Reading ten thousand books is not as good as traveling ten thousand miles.’ I simply feel that if I just blindly train within the Tianhe Force, I’ll never improve my strength without going out to see the world."
Hearing Tian Tesu’s advice, Jia Yan responded with a long sigh.
The proverb Jia Yan mentioned was something Tian Tesu didn’t quite understand, but he grasped the general idea. After all, if every genius could become a strong one by staying at home, the Genius Battlefield wouldn’t be filled with so many challenges and battles among geniuses.
"Alright," he reluctantly accepted the logic behind Jia Yan’s words.
A fleet of strong ones cautiously moved towards another force not far from the Tianhe Force.
Though the Tianhe Force wasn’t considered strong in the Central Star Area, it was still a respectable force within its own Star Zone. This was especially true after the rise of Tian Rongguang, which made surrounding forces show great respect towards Tianhe Force.
"Oh, it’s Senior Tian Tesu of the Tianhe Force. Please proceed."
At a checkpoint along the edge of the force’s territory, upon recognizing Tian Tesu, the gatekeepers immediately allowed passage.
The Tianhe Force had been making waves recently. Not only had their high-level genius Tian Rongguang, originally at the Secondary Level, succeeded in advancing to Semi-permanent Star Level, but they’d also attracted Jia Yan—a genius at the pinnacle of the Central Star Area. This inevitably elevated the status of Tianhe Force in the eyes of neighboring forces.
Knowing that one of the fleet’s members was an Elder of the Tianhe Force, the checkpoint team in the neighboring force also quickly allowed Jia Yan and his entourage to pass.
"So, this is the Liqiao Force. Truly a group of ingenious individuals."
Upon arriving at the force neighboring the Tianhe Force, Jia Yan remarked with admiration.
It turned out this force was called the Liqiao Force, whose inhabitants were renowned for their dexterity. This didn’t literally mean their hands and feet were nimble, but rather that they were talented in creating and developing technological marvels.
All around the warships were various flying devices. Some were highly functional, while others barely managed to stay airborne. Regardless of quality, it was clear these were privately crafted projects.
"The Liqiao Force is considered a peculiar standout in the Genius Battlefield. The geniuses here generally have a penchant for eccentric and edgy innovations. Particularly among the leadership, some are merely at the Secondary Level, but their technological expertise and knowledge are astoundingly profound."
Tian Tesu explained everything about the force.
"Travelers from the Tianhe Force, halt ahead."
Just as Jia Yan and Tian Tesu’s group continued forward, a voice brimming with Brainwave Power echoed from behind.
Both Jia Yan and Tian Tesu were stunned. Their fleet had legal travel documents and constantly emitted the powerful aura of a Semi-permanent Star Level genius strong one. Yet someone still dared to stop them?
The pursuer from behind was operating a flying machine that resembled a rundown car. It was a monster that approached the group and produced a peculiar device, aiming it at the various warships in the fleet.
"Your Excellency, may I ask why you’ve stopped us?" Tian Tesu, visibly displeased, flew out of the warship and, upon noticing that the stranger was merely a Secondary Powerhouse, asked with some irritation.
For someone of Tian Tesu’s level—a middle-tier genius at the Semi-permanent Star Level—the Secondary Powerhouse was practically synonymous with weakness. Moreover, the monster looked frail and was clearly not trained for physical combat. Normally, Tian Tesu wouldn’t hesitate to swat such an opponent away.
But Tian Tesu remembered that the fleet was carrying a precious "gem" in the form of Jia Yan. He couldn’t risk stirring up trouble now.
"Let me see, let me see." The Secondary Powerhouse ignored Tian Tesu, completely absorbed in fiddling with the device as he moved it around.
Soon, the machine pointed directly at Jia Yan’s location.
"Ah! It really is!"
The monster’s face lit up with joy as he cried out.
"Is Jia Yan inside? Haha, Mister Jia Yan, I’m your admirer! Can we meet?"
The frail Secondary Powerhouse announced something that shocked everyone in the fleet.
"How does he even know Jia Yan is aboard the fleet? And what is that device?"
Tian Tesu looked at the machine the strange monster was using, clearly intrigued.
However, Jia Yan’s presence on the fleet was meant to be a secret. He didn’t want more people to know that he was traveling abroad.
"What nonsense are you spouting? Mister Jia Yan is not accompanying this fleet. Please refrain from bothering us, or I’ll invoke inter-force laws to legally terminate you!"
Tian Tesu’s expression hardened, unleashing a wave of tremendous pressure on the Secondary Powerhouse.
"So powerful! As expected of a Semi-permanent Star Level strong one. But I’m not afraid of you. My family is part of the leadership of the Liqiao Force. If you dare kill me, it would mean declaring war against the Liqiao Force. I just want to meet my idol, Jia Yan. Please let me meet him."
Before Tian Tesu could respond, the monster noticed that Jia Yan himself was slowly flying out from one of the warships.
"Mister Jia Yan! I can’t believe I’m seeing you in person! Oh, I adore you, Mister Jia Yan!"
The frail monster was practically ecstatic upon seeing Jia Yan, gesturing wildly and zooming forward with surprising speed.
"Hello...?...."
Having witnessed the prior scene, Jia Yan was curious how he could attract the admiration of someone like this Secondary Powerhouse. Even more surprising, after observing the being closely, Jia Yan realized that their Talent was at least that of an Intermediate Genius—someone a whole level higher than himself. Without activating his Evolutionary Creature Power, Jia Yan would have no chance of competing against them. Yet, this person admired him?
"Wow! Mister Jia Yan actually said hello to me! Haha, Mister Jia Yan, hello, hello! My name is Xi Bala, and the weather today is great, isn’t it?"
Xi Bala, clearly overwhelmed, started speaking nonsensical and stuttering in excitement.
Jia Yan speechlessly turned his gaze to the cosmic landscape around him.
Weather? Great? Sure... If rain were possible in space, that’d truly be a sight to behold.
"Miss Xi Bala, on this journey outside the force, I’m trying to keep my identity confidential. Would you mind helping me keep this a secret?"
Jia Yan asked, exasperated.
"Ke-keep it a secret? Of-of course! Anyone who dares to spill the secret will get disciplined by me, Xi Bala! Hahaha! Mister Jia Yan actually asked me to keep a secret for him! I need to immediately show off to Dixian and the others!"
Xi Bala excitedly opened her Smart Brain, only to have it short-circuit moments later.
A terrifying wave of pressure erupted behind Xi Bala. Tian Tesu’s Brainwave Power was clearly the cause of her Smart Brain’s malfunction.
"Semi-permanent Star dignitary of the Tianhe Force, what are you doing? Destroying my Smart Brain like this is a serious diplomatic offense. I reserve the right to hold you accountable."
Xi Bala’s demeanor flipped completely as she berated Tian Tesu.
"Uh, Miss Xi Bala, isn’t this more about you breaking your promise to keep my secret?" Jia Yan interrupted, shaking his head.
Xi Bala immediately realized her mistake.
"Ah... I-I almost betrayed Mister Jia Yan. I’m so sorry, Mister Jia Yan! I didn’t mean to. I truly admire you. Please, please forgive me."
Jia Yan exchanged a glance with Tian Tesu, feeling utterly speechless.
Before long, their fleet had a new addition—a shabby-looking flying vehicle now traveling with them.
"Mister Jia Yan, I’m deeply honored to serve as your guide. I, Miss Xi Bala, am familiar with the geography of over fifty surrounding forces and can share many stories with you. I hope I meet your expectations."
The frail-looking monster turned out to be a female. This explained some of her behavior, which, in Jia Yan’s opinion, resembled the fangirl-like enthusiasm of young celebrity fans back on Earth.
What made the situation more absurd was that her strength, at least on paper, exceeded Jia Yan’s current apparent level by a significant margin. Yet she remained deeply infatuated with him, often tripping over her words in excitement.
Not wanting her to inadvertently spill any secrets, and since she repeatedly promised to help guide him through various forces, Jia Yan reluctantly allowed her to join their travels.
As Xi Bala provided an excited commentary, Jia Yan gradually pieced together her fascination. She had started admiring him during his battles with top-tier High-level Geniuses in the Central Star Area.
To learn more about Jia Yan’s past, Xi Bala had even pulled strings to gather rumors about him from the 132nd Star Zone. Surprisingly, despite being stronger than him, she became even more enamored with his story.
She had even traveled to the Tianhe Force to meet him and had built a "Lord Jia Yan’s Detector." But each visit ended in disappointment, as she was turned away at the gates.
Never in her wildest dreams did she expect her casually tinkered detector to pick up a reaction within her home force’s territory. Upon confirming it was indeed Jia Yan, she immediately gave chase.
Jia Yan was left in awe of Xi Bala’s technological expertise. She explained that her detector had been configured to lock onto Jia Yan’s unique Brainwave frequency, activating if he passed nearby. Of course, the actual creation of this device was far from simple, leaving Jia Yan marveling at her skills.
"Mister Jia Yan, our Liqiao Force is currently researching a highly potent material. It’s said that once fully activated, it can neutralize particles entirely. Isn’t that amazing?"
"Uh... Very amazing."
The longer they talked, the more coherent Xi Bala’s speech became. However, Jia Yan soon found himself overwhelmed. As her confidence grew, so did the tempo of her words, which became almost machine gun-like in rapidity.
Most of her topics revolved around her interests, particularly in technology. Jia Yan could barely comprehend half of it, and even Tian Tesu and the other strong ones appeared equally confused.
"Haha, Mister Jia Yan, how are your wings so beautiful? I recently wanted to visit our force’s cosmetic clinic to get wings just like yours, but my mom—that old hag—refused! She doesn’t understand the beauty of your wings at all. Honestly, old women turn into nags as they age, don’t they? It’s so unfair!"
Jia Yan wanted to cry.
