Chapter 1359: Chapter 12 Central Star Area [Seeking Genuine Subscription]
When the Semi-permanent Star Level Mermaid Monster was preparing, Jia Yan opened the Smart Brain he carried with him and searched for information about the Star Transmission Body.
It turned out the Star Transmission Body was a technology long used in the advanced Technology Star Domain, functioning to transmit objects and even life between two locations equipped with ’receiving’ and ’releasing’ Star Transmission Bodies.
The Star Transmission Body in front of Jia Yan was one of those in the Genius Battlefield. Naturally, it wasn’t constructed by any one force, as no single power could afford such a massive project. It originated from the official body of the Genius Battlefield.
"I see. Not only does constructing this Star Transmission Body require an enormous amount of resources, but even activating it once consumes a substantial amount. No wonder ordinary powers can’t afford to build or use it themselves."
Seeing the astronomical amount of resources required to activate the Star Transmission Body, even Jia Yan couldn’t help but secretly click his tongue in disbelief.
The Mermaid Power, Jia Yan presumed, might have been entrusted with managing this Star Transmission Body after establishing their power here, as an object of this kind generally remains unused.
While Jia Yan was engrossed in studying the Star Transmission Body’s data, the Mermaid Monster ’Xiaoya’ standing nearby cast him a disdainful glance. She sneered, "Country bumpkin," and then, without caring if Jia Yan heard her or not, arrogantly turned her head elsewhere.
Jia Yan found it peculiar. This Intermediate Genius had witnessed his strength, especially after his battle with the geniuses from the Stellar Academy. She should have some respect for him, so why this attitude?
However, her demeanor was none of Jia Yan’s business. He simply regarded this ill-tempered Mermaid Monster as air.
Before long, the Semi-permanent Star Level Mermaid Monster returned to where Jia Yan and Xiaoya were waiting.
"It’s ready. You may depart now," he said warmly to Jia Yan.
"By the way, Mister Jia Yan, please look after Xiaoya on the journey. She’s been spoiled within our power and, truth be told, her origins are somewhat special. If there’s any danger during the transit, I hope you can lend a helping hand. The Tianhe Force in the Central Star District will richly reward you for your assistance."
As the Semi-permanent Star Level Mermaid Monster exchanged polite words with Jia Yan, he slipped in this request.
"Tianhe Force?" Jia Yan paused, seemingly recalling something he had come across online. There was indeed a power in the Central Star District of the Genius Battlefield named Tianhe Force.
Jia Yan nodded but understood this was essentially a warning—clearly, the relationship between him and Xiaoya wasn’t exactly amicable.
He also realized that this Mermaid Xiaoya likely had ties to the Central Star District, which explained her contemptuous attitude toward him.
But it was only a brief journey. Jia Yan thought to himself that putting up with her for a short time, like swatting away a buzzing fly near his ear, would not be too troublesome.
"Hmph, figuring out how to behave now, aren’t you?"
Xiaoya, evidently viewing herself as extremely important, brazenly continued to mock Jia Yan, boldly taunting even a High-level Genius like him.
Jia Yan chose not to engage with her further.
The two headed toward the void circle beneath.
Upon arriving, Jia Yan finally appreciated the immense scale of the circular object, several kilometers in diameter. It was distinctly different from a black hole.
Inside, it shimmered slightly. The black fog revealed not gravitational force but a calming power—while not entirely still, it lacked the violent chaos of a black hole.
The Semi-permanent Star Level Mermaid Monster pulled out a device resembling a remote control and gestured toward Jia Yan.
When Jia Yan indicated he was ready, she pressed a button on the controller.
Jia Yan observed the changes above.
Within the several-kilometer-wide circle, the fog rapidly began to shift. Clear air and turbid air gradually separated, and at the center point inside, a passage seemed to form. The core of the passage shone brightly—so bright that even Jia Yan’s eyesight couldn’t discern what was at its center.
"Mister Jia Yan, Xiaoya, you may enter now."
The Semi-permanent Star Level Mermaid Monster directed the two of them.
Upon hearing this, Jia Yan and Xiaoya flew toward the small light above.
It was Jia Yan’s first time entering such a space, and he curiously examined his surroundings.
Particularly as he passed into the circular area, he observed the surrounding space closely. He saw vortices of Distorted Space swirling all around, yet they seemed powerless to interfere with the passage they were using.
"Such terrifying distortion! Even I would undoubtedly meet death if I were to be touched by these Distorted Spaces!" Jia Yan marveled at the power of the distortions, his heart pounding with shock.
No wonder it was said that no ordinary power could possess such a Star Transmitter Channel in the Genius Battlefield. Stabilizing this Distorted Space was beyond the capacity of even Semi-permanent Star Level beings. At the very least, it would require the strength of a Stellar level existence.
After passing through the foggy aura, Jia Yan and Mermaid Xiaoya were fully inside the channel.
Theoretically, this space was no longer part of the external Universe Space. Their bodies were stretched and distorted by the twisting forces of space.
"Ugh..."
Xiaoya appeared to be experiencing discomfort. It seemed this was her first time entering a Star Transmission Channel as well.
For beings without Space Talent, enduring the pain caused by Distorted Space was several times harder than for others. Her reaction was entirely understandable.
Jia Yan, naturally, paid her no attention.
The pair continued to fly forward, delving deeper into the light-point channel.
Glancing back, Jia Yan saw that the space behind them had already vanished into obscurity. At some point, the exit had closed, and the Semi-permanent Star Level Mermaid Monster was nowhere to be seen.
Finally, amid the spiral forces of the light-point channel, the two reached its brightest center.
Upon arriving, Jia Yan realized the core he couldn’t discern earlier was actually a white celestial body roughly hundreds of kilometers in diameter.
"They even embedded a star-like structure into the channel... What a colossal undertaking!"
Jia Yan stared in awe at the stellar body, almost convinced it could only have been brought here by a Star River level existence.
"Or perhaps not. There’s a chance some exceptionally powerful Stellar beings might also be capable of creating such a thing. I still don’t fully understand the vast capabilities of Stellar level power..."
Jia Yan reflected silently.
Jia Yan and Mermaid Xiaoya descended onto the white celestial body together.
Then, they suddenly felt the star tremble!
Jia Yan noticed that, amidst the surrounding fog, the star’s front end speared forward, tearing apart a fissure. The entire star surged forward through the fog with immense speed.
"So this is why they call it a Star Transmission Body. It literally travels through the Foggy Land on an actual celestial body..."
Jia Yan, unsure what kind of space they were in, vaguely understood it bore some connection to space. However, his current comprehension was still insufficient to grasp all its intricacies.
"All right, this Star Transmission Body moves through something akin to a subspace fissure. Its speed should be guaranteed, so there’s no need to worry. Now is the time to rest and improve my strength. Of course, the spatial effects here might also aid my understanding of space. I’ll take this opportunity to refine my insights."
Having made up his mind, Jia Yan steadily positioned himself on the celestial body to cultivate his strength and sharpen his comprehension.
After all, he still had a battle ahead with Duo Jian. Though his strength had improved recently, Duo Jian had claimed he would master a secret technique of his self-formed race. Jia Yan wasn’t entirely confident he could counter it yet.
While Jia Yan was calm and focused, the situation was much harder for Xiaoya, stuck on the same white celestial body.
Her abilities were far inferior to Jia Yan’s, and being without Space Talent, she constantly faced the pull of distortion forces. She had to exert herself fully to resist being torn apart.
But Jia Yan wasn’t inclined to help her, nor would this proud woman accept his aid.
Thus, the two gradually settled into an uneasy tranquility.
As Jia Yan departed the void circle, a vast spacecraft on the other side of the Mermaid Power’s territory also began slipping into subspace in the endless Universe Starry Sky.
Its speed was incredible, heading rapidly toward the Central Star District of the Genius Battlefield.
Still, compared to Jia Yan’s swift advancement through the Foggy Land, the spacecraft appeared sluggish, requiring years to reach the same destination.
It seemed Jia Yan would have plenty of solitary time ahead.
...
The Genius Battlefield was a training ground for Strong Ones, created jointly by several Super Powers and infused with immense resources and effort.
Spanning tens of thousands of light-years, it stood as one of the top-ranking places for cultivating fresh talents, rivalling even the nearby Stellar Academy.
The Stellar Academy and Genius Battlefield adopted different training philosophies, and the Super Powers backing each were sworn enemies. This led to a charged atmosphere between the two Holy Lands.
The Genius Battlefield had a pronounced hierarchy: the closer to its central area, the more prosperous and resource-rich it became, and the stronger the geniuses.
A popular saying in the Genius Battlefield was: "If you’re not from the center, you’re not a genius."
This underscored the disdain Central Star District geniuses held for those from outer regions, especially those from the Border Star Area. To them, such individuals didn’t even qualify as geniuses within the Genius Battlefield.
On this day, a Star Transmission Channel leading from the outer regions to the Central Star District—long dormant for an uncountable number of years—mysteriously activated at the fringes of the Central Star District.
No one had anticipated this long-sealed channel would ever reopen, and no geniuses or powers noticed this occurrence at all.
In a silent corner of the Universe’s expanse, a circular Foggy Land emerged.
At its foggy center, a white object faintly appeared.
It grew from a small dot to a hulking, star-like colossus in an instant!
Once the enormous stellar body reached the edge of the foggy land, it halted abruptly as if braking sharply.
Shortly thereafter, two beings of similar size emerged from the star.
"So, this is the Central Star District?"
