Chapter 1259: Chapter 12 A Victory! [Please Subscribe to the Official Version]

"As usual, the Genius Battlefield begins with Lord Level fights, followed by Secondary Powerhouse battles, and finally Semi-permanent Star Level fights. The rules are the same as always: unless a fighter surrenders or dies, the battle rages on!"

The rules of the Genius Battlefield are different from other competitions in the outside world, allowing for battles to the death.

Jia Yan felt the pressure at the thought of these rules, true to the spirit of the Genius Battlefield.

At the Lord Level, he believed it wouldn’t be easy to encounter an opponent who could truly challenge him.

"Alright, Jia Yan, as you see, I have great trust in you. I’m not asking for too much now—among the dozens of forces, there are over five hundred Lord Level experts. As long as you rank within the top twenty for me, my objections will have value. Do not let me down, understand?"

Jia Yan was listening to the rules when a familiar voice reached his ears.

This voice belonged to Behalf, who seemed to be somewhat worried about Jia Yan.

"I understand." Jia Yan nodded.

On the other side, Behalf took a long breath after glancing at Jia Yan.

He knew his position within the Wu Ci Power wasn’t particularly secure, so he urgently needed an opportunity to prove himself. As he thought, his strengths would probably not stand out among the Semi-permanent Star Level geniuses. After all, geniuses who had just promoted from Lord to Semi-permanent Star Level were a bit weaker compared to their peers, and with his recent promotion not being more than two years old, being slightly less strong couldn’t be helped.

Therefore, he had high hopes for Jia Yan! In truth, he didn’t know the extent of Jia Yan’s powers but realized that he was suppressing his strength. It was clear to him that the chance to prove himself rested on Jia Yan!

"I hope he can make it into the top twenty. If he does, our Lord Level experts’ ranking wouldn’t be considered weak."

Among the twenty forces, it should be expected for their Wu Ci Power to have a Lord in the top twenty. However, in the many editions of the 215 Star Zone Genius Battlefield that they had participated in, Wu Ci Power had never achieved such an honor before. The best result for a Lord Level expert was a fifty-year-old history where only one individual reached the fiftieth rank!

"Alright, the Lord Level Genius Battlefield is about to begin. Those without tickets, please get your tickets now, and the stations without broadcasting rights, make your payments, or else..."

The Semi-permanent Star Level host on the high platform was jokingly conducting the event, causing the audience to burst into laughter.

Jia Yan couldn’t understand what was so funny—perhaps this was a result of cultural differences within the Starfield?

But he had no time to ponder, as the Lord battle had already begun.

"Jia Yan, later there will be both team battles and individual fights. If you wish to conserve your strength for the individual battle, I will not assign you to a team. What do you think?"

A Dignitary approached Jia Yan—he was the Hundred-Legged Monster with whom Jia Yan had fought before.

Jia Yan remembered he had been appointed as the Captain of the Lord Level team, and it was he who arranged the team members.

The so-called team battle was just another term for a group battle. Each force would send ten Lords to form a team and then battle against an opponent. Victory would lead to advancement while defeat meant elimination—a simple and straightforward process.

"No need, let me join the team," Jia Yan shook his head.

If he was going to reveal some of his abilities, then he would not miss the opportunity to make an appearance in the team battle!

"Alright, then I’ll put you in the third spot. If we face a strong team, you can just surrender to preserve your strength," the Hundred-Legged Monster nodded.

Within the Artificial Star, there was no sunrise or sunset, so time here seemed meaningless. Moreover, those watching the battles were mostly Strong Ones, and it was normal for them to go days without rest. Thus, once the battle started, it immediately entered a prolonged tug-of-war!

"First up is the individual battle, Jia Yan remember, make it into the top twenty for me!"

Reminded by Behalf’s repeated Brainwave Power transmissions, Jia Yan proceeded to draw his combat number.

"Number thirty-one?" Jia Yan glanced at his number, then looked at the opponent’s number on the screen.

"Number forty-seven, who is that?" He looked behind him, only to see a Giant standing a hundred meters away, giving him a cold smile.

"Kid, my opponent is you, right? I’ve heard you are a new recruit for the Wu Ci Power, and even the lords of our Semi-permanent Star Level hold you in high regard. Well, I simply don’t buy it. In a while, I’ll show you that none of the Strong Ones here at the Genius Battlefield are simple!" the Giant transmitted his message to Jia Yan.

"I sure hope so," Jia Yan responded.

His words lacked any emotion, seemingly unaffected by the opponent’s imposing aura.

The Giant was briefly taken aback but felt an even stronger killing intent within him.

In the Round Combat Area, the battles began, not just on the ground but in the air as well.

This was to accommodate the large number of participants. Besides, Lord Level battles did not attract much attention from the Strong Ones. In the Genius Battlefield, one needed at least Semi-permanent Star Level Power to garner interest. The Secondary Powerhouses below them couldn’t quite capture the attention of others, let alone the Lords.

The Lords fighting on the ground were the well-known Dignitaries.

"Look, ladies and gentlemen, this Lord from the Iron Gate Force is proving to be a powerhouse exceeding half of the other Lords. His Power is completely dominating his opponent. Oh, he won!"

The Semi-permanent Star Level commentator showed a good deal of commentating skill, narrating the ground battles with inflections that captivated the audience’s emotions.

The Lords chosen to fight on the ground were either quite strong or had some interesting qualities.

After many groups fought simultaneously, it was soon Jia Yan’s turn!

He did not attract any attention, so he was arranged to battle above the sky.

"The combat area has a radius of two hundred kilometers. You can kill your opponent, but if they surrender, you must stop. Otherwise, if we don’t kill you for that, people from the Genius Battlefield will come to kill you for breaking the rules. Do you understand?"

The judge was a Secondary Powerhouse, and seeing Jia Yan and his opponent, the Giant, flying to the heights, he impatiently repeated the rules.

"Begin."

After saying this, the Secondary Powerhouse judge stepped aside.

Having witnessed too many Respect-Level battles, this Secondary Powerhouse was quite disdainful. Although the difference in strength between Respect-Level Strongmen and Secondary Powerhouses was only one level, or even a sub-level, the disparity in power was still as vast as heaven and earth, and he felt watching them would only diminish his own strength.

"Kid, it’s not too late to surrender now. Otherwise, once I make a move, you might not even have a chance to admit defeat."

The Giant arrived in the middle of the combat zone and looked coldly at Jia Yan.

"You talk too much," Jia Yan responded lightly, controlling his Giant Mosquito body to stop ten kilometers away from his opponent.

"Seeking death!"

A trace of rage appeared in the Giant’s eyes, then his huge palm clenched ferociously into a fist and smashed towards the direction where Jia Yan was!

An attack from a great distance, his palm seemed to traverse layers of space and landed fiercely on Jia Yan’s body!

"My Talent is invincible among my peers. With this hit, you will either die or be injured!" The Giant saw his strike hit Jia Yan and his face showed a surge of exhilaration.

He thought he had won with this strike!

But in the space where his arm swung through, the ’Jia Yan’ that was hit and flew out shattered like a mirror.

"Afterimage?" The Giant’s expression changed dramatically.

His mind raced, and realizing what his opponent was planning, he immediately started to activate his own speed.

And just as he reacted, the space behind his body violently ripped open, and then a foreleg shot out like a bolt of lightning.

Although the Giant fled extremely quickly, he could not match the velocity of the shooting foreleg.

A streak of blood appeared in the Starry Sky!

"I surrender!"

The Giant, seeing the foreleg behind him continuing to shoot like bone-adherent maggots and knowing that another hit would be fatal, panicked and promptly screamed his surrender.

"Jia Yan wins!"

As soon as he admitted defeat, the Secondary Powerhouse judge outside the combat zone announced Jia Yan’s victory.

However, he looked at Jia Yan with a trace of surprise because Jia Yan won too quickly, which even piqued his curiosity.

But this was merely a victory by a Dignitary; in this Genius Battlefield, there are many Geniuses who can quickly win against opponents they counter. Often they lose just as quickly when facing opponents they cannot suppress, so Jia Yan’s performance does not necessarily mean his real strength has become formidable.

"Thanks for your leniency."

Jia Yan said faintly to the Giant, then amidst the incredulous gaze of the other, he landed back among his team on the ground.

"Congratulations on achieving your first victory." As soon as Jia Yan landed, Behalf’s voice reached his ears.

"Thank you," Jia Yan replied with a nod.

The gaze of the Dignitaries from the Wu Ci Power surrounding Jia Yan did not show any surprise; his strength had already been verified within the Wu Ci Power, and Jia Yan being able to defeat one or two strong opponents was not unexpected.

"Eh?"

Just as Jia Yan was responding to Behalf, he was surprised to look towards the ground battlefield.

There, an extremely terrifying fight was underway.

Two Respect-Level entities were fiercely engaged in battle on the ground, and the energy from their fight even required several Semi-permanent Star Level Experts to intervene in order to prevent it from hitting the spectator seats.

"Interesting."

A flicker of astonishment in his eyes turned into interest for Jia Yan.

The two strong fighters engaged in combat turned out to be top-tier, Respect-Level Geniuses of two powerful forces who had encountered each other early on!

One was a monster with only one leg, with an arm as sharp as a sickle. Each swing could cut through space, and the techniques were extremely peculiar.

In the face of these deadly strikes, the opponent, a Strongman like a Black Bear, roared as he continuously swatted away the sickles with his palms. The defense of his thick palms was almost impervious to swords and spears, entirely fearless of the other’s sickle blades.
