The dog-headed monster, being a prince, might be somewhat naive, but in reality, his strength was quite impressive. Especially within the royal family, when facing some Lord Level guards, he could often defeat ordinary ones. However, now, in front of this dignitary-looking Strong One, his power proved to be completely ineffective.
This was no longer a strength of the same level; the prince felt as if he were facing some of the Semi-permanent Star Level Experts of the Royal Family—there was an impassable gulf in level between them.
"What kind of strength is this, exactly? My Family even wants me to go and reinforce the Genius talents of the Luoci Empire, but now I stand powerless against a dignitary who doesn’t seem much older than me. Can I really make a difference in the Genius Battlefield?"
At this moment, this Royal Genius began to doubt his own strength.
Jia Yan was completely oblivious to the fact that he’d wounded the heart of a genius, continuing to inquire indifferently.
"Tell me, what exactly is the Genius Battlefield?"
The genius from the Naruozi Empire, now somewhat helplessly, shook his head before speaking: "The Genius Battlefield is a Starfield carved out by many large Families and two Galaxy-spanning Super Powers. It’s mostly populated by genius Strong Ones and is resource-rich, with many geniuses entering it for Cultivation."
"Hmm? So that’s what the Genius Battlefield is like. Then tell me, between this Genius Battlefield and your Luoci Empire, which is stronger and which is weaker?" Jia Yan asked with curiosity.
"Uh?" The dog-headed monster looked up blankly, having assumed that Jia Yan knew about the Genius Battlefield. But after hearing this, it seemed to him that Jia Yan didn’t understand a thing about this Genius Battlefield.
"What I mean, the power of the Genius Battlefield... Well, if you think that a mere Luoci Empire could compete with it, then that’s overestimating my Luoci Empire by far. The area of the Genius Battlefield spans thousands of light-years, more than ten times larger than the scope of the Luoci Empire’s controlled territories, and it’s close to the Milky Way Central, extremely rich in resources. Not to mention, there are quite a few Star Level geniuses there, any of whom could annihilate our Luoci Empire," said the dog-headed monster with some yearning.
"So, the Genius Battlefield is such a place. Why is it called the Genius Battlefield? Tell me more about its origins," said Jia Yan, surprised, then urging for more information.
An area spanning thousands of light-years; this was bigger than the entire Orion Arm where Earth was located. It was more of a vast Starfield than a region, and this whole area was solely carved out by some Powers for geniuses.
The very thought was terrifying.
And as Jia Yan listened to the monologue of the dog-headed Strong One, he became more and more astonished.
Now, he started to understand some of the intricate affairs of the Milky Way.
Compared to the hearsay he knew before, Jia Yan had only now started to grasp the inside stories of the Milky Way and the power struggles that extend from it.
The Genius Battlefield is a cultivation and fighting ground fashioned by an alliance of two Galaxy-spanning Super Powers and a host of large Powers. But these Super Powers mentioned are not just any large Power from the Northern Star Domain; they are formidable entities recognized across the vast Starry Sky, even throughout the entire Milky Way.
These two Powers, not even the dog-headed prince knew of them, because his Luoci Empire was not privileged even to learn their names.
In short, they’d carved out a piece of the Starfield with a host of large Powers to serve as a Cultivation and fighting area for genius Strong Ones. Any talent entering there is off-limits to external Strong Ones, but that doesn’t mean life in the Genius Battlefield is easy—their mortality rate is just as high as outside.
Moreover, every once in a while, the Strong Ones inside must engage in a contest, and those at the lower rankings get expelled, depending on how long they have been in the Battlefield.
"So it turns out these Powers have created such a terrifying place..."
Jia Yan muttered to himself in astonishment after listening to the dog-headed Strong One.
As for why they did it, even the dog-headed Strong One didn’t seem to understand.
Because the dog-headed prince wished to join the Genius Battlefield, but his Family disagreed, they proposed he go and temper himself in the Chaos Starfield first. Only after he could enter and then return, bringing back video evidence, would they allow him to proceed to the Genius Battlefield.
However, the dog-headed Strong One’s actual strength was extremely pitiable in the Chaos Starfield, and his battleship was also damaged during a Space Distortion crisis, which is why he ended up hitching a ride.
"Interesting. The Genius Battlefield is indeed worth a visit, and it’s a place where fighting is a given. There aren’t too many powerful Stellar Level fighters, and even those at the Stellar Level have only recently been promoted..."
Upon hearing all these details, Jia Yan’s eyes sparkled with eagerness. He finally understood why the Light Shadow Monster wanted him to go to the Genius Battlefield—because advancement there is extremely rapid, and his power already far surpasses that of a normal fighter of the same level.
More importantly, the Genius Battlefield is teeming with resources. What most excites Jia Yan is that the Stellar Level fighters there could not possibly be as powerful as those from the outside.
Those Talented beings who advanced to the Stellar Level were only allowed to Cultivate there for a time, say fifty years to stabilize their power, before they were taken away. After all, Stellar Level power could severely disrupt the balance.
How strong could such Stellar Level power be?
If Jia Yan became a bit stronger, could he possibly defeat those beyond his level?
No! As long as he could escape from the hands of such Stellar Level fighters, Jia Yan would be content.
In that case, fighting more with those incomplete Stellar Level fighters, his own power would increase rapidly, and he would become progressively more proficient at fighting against perpetual stars...
The more he thought about it, the more Jia Yan yearned in his heart.
"Alright, you can go now."
After hearing quite a lot, especially about the Empire’s Strong Ones to be cautious of, Jia Yan let Adisa open a portal on the Battleship for the dog-headed Monster to leave.
However, when he told the other party to leave, the dog-headed Monster didn’t want to go.
"Lord, it seems you too wish to head to the Genius Battlefield. So... could I hitch a ride for a bit longer? If the talents in my Family saw that I reached the Genius Battlefield without going through the family’s arrangements, their eyeballs might just pop out in surprise. It’d be really amusing."
He heckled with a strange laugh, refusing to leave.
"Oh my... This guy’s nerve is just too thick," Jia Yan was stunned for a moment.
"Suit yourself. Just to let you know beforehand, jumping through Space in my Battleship isn’t that pleasant. If you can’t handle it, just let me know," Jia Yan shook his head.
After that, he ignored the dog-headed Monster and returned to the interior compartments.
"Master is impressive, you’ve already taken your first subordinate. He’s a prince from the Luoci Empire; he might even be of help to you in the Genius Battlefield," Adisa approached Jia Yan, admiringly commented.
The first subordinate?
Jia Yan offered a helpless wry smile: "If I were to take Strong Ones with such personalities as subordinates, I reckon they’d annoy me to death. Let’s forget it."
"Adisa, we’ve been in the Luoci Empire long enough, make the jump. Don’t worry about that little guy behind, it was his choice to board," Jia Yan instructed.
"Roger that."
Adisa cheerfully acquiesced.
Subsequently, the entire Adisa vessel swiftly entered a type of Subspace...
This was the dimension of Space. However, compared to conventional jumping Space, the living beings inside would not have an easy time.
Jia Yan, due to his talent in Space, did not feel too much discomfort.
But the dog-headed Monster was beginning to suffer!
"Argh! My head is killing me, big bro, just let me off, argh! Why is there nobody here?"
Since he was aboard, and Jia Yan had started the jump, how could he possibly let him off at will?
Now the dog-headed Monster could only advance at high speed along with the Adisa.
Of course, the intense discomfort was not without its gain; for now, the Adisa was traveling towards the region of the Genius Battlefield at an unbelievably rapid pace.
As the departure speed increased, Jia Yan gazed at the receding Space behind with some melancholy.
In that direction, the Northern Star Domain was getting farther away. This bustling region within the Starfield had been where he stayed the longest and was slowly becoming distant.
"Sigh, another place has become part of my memories."
Jia Yan shook his head in slight depression. Every time he passed through a Starry sky area and then traveled to another, he would always feel a bit nostalgic.
Because the universe was so immense, he didn’t think he would ever leave the Milky Way, yet even the Milky Way itself was too vast to comprehend. Passing through any area, even if it held many memories, he could never guarantee if he would return to those places of remembrance.
Even for powerful beings of the Great Level form the Star River, it would not be possible to frequently traverse many light-years; distance would always be the biggest challenge for the strongest.
"But the path ahead of me will only lead to strength... the Genius Battlefield, compared to the Northern Star Domain, what kind of place will it be? Are there truly many geniuses? Are there others as strong as me? I’m really looking forward to it!"
Jia Yan finally stopped contemplating the Northern Star Domain behind him, especially after knowing that the scientists from the Country of Taia had been striving to turn some of his ideas into reality. The thought of leaving a familiar place became even more faint. After all, there might be ultra-long-distance communication in the future.
"Before reaching the Genius Star Field, the Adisa will have to journey a bit longer, so I’ll immerse my Heart and Mind into my Avatar to see how things are on that side..."
With a contemplative expression, Jia Yan slowly relaxed and then laid down, completely letting his mind drift.
On the Adisa, his safety was naturally assured, so he could completely let go now, focusing on his Avatar that he hadn’t checked in with for a long time.
Next, he had to address the issues with the Civilization on Earth and in the Orion Arm.
