Chapter 1142: Chapter 23 Taking the Niece on an Adventure! [Update 1]
The people of Jia’s family noticed that Princess Qiqi, who had initially been openly hostile towards the mysterious new member of the Defense Team, Mo Ke, had changed her attitude towards him in recent days.
She often went alone to the back of the Jia Family Forest to play with Mo Ke. Strangely enough, no one in the entire Jia family could locate Mo Ke, yet Jia Qi could easily find him every time she wished to see him, which was indeed quite odd.
Even more surprising to everyone was that after Mo Ke arrived, Princess Jiaqi began to take her cultivation, which she previously didn’t care much for, seriously. One could often hear Jia Lin talking about how diligently her daughter was working.
Three days passed this way.
This was the fourth day since Jia Yan’s return.
That day, Qiqi came to the place agreed upon with Jia Yan, in the forest behind the Jia family’s property, and softly called out, "Uncle Jiu."
Suo suo suo...
Soft footsteps came from behind her, and Jia Yan appeared from that patch of ground.
Meanwhile, in a certain institution of the Jia family, two members spoke with conviction, "I still won’t believe it; there really isn’t a way to monitor you?"
These two knew that Jia Yan was supposed to come from the location where Princess Jiaqi had appeared, but they only felt their heads spin, and then they realized that not only Jia Yan’s figure was gone, but so was Little Princess Jiaqi.
"Damn it! How could it be like this again, this guy is too freakish," the two looked at each other, bewildered.
At this moment, Jia Yan had already carried Jia Qi above the skies, to a point two kilometers on the right, where the view was nothing short of spectacular.
Jia Yan had always enjoyed looking at the high-altitude scenery of Earth. Now that he was used to it, he felt it was just alright. However, Little Jiaqi clearly shared a love for it with her uncle; she looked at the scenery below with an expression that showed extreme fondness.
"Uncle Jiu, can we fly to the Himalayan Mountain next time? I heard that it’s the world’s highest peak, and I’ve never been there," Jia Qi coquettishly grasped Jia Yan’s mask from behind and asked.
"Stop fussing, what will you do if you fall? You want to go to the Himalayan Mountain? Let’s not wait for next time, Qiqi, protect your body with Brainwave Power, Uncle is going to accelerate!"
Jia Yan chuckled, and upon hearing his words, Jiaqi quickly used her Brainwave Power to shield her body, and then he powerfully accelerated his Brainwave Power!
Boom!!!
In the sky, it was as if a streak of light had exploded. Lying on Jia Yan’s back, Jiaqi felt an incredible inertial force pulling her backward, almost making her feel as though her world was blacking out.
However, at that moment, her own Brainwave Power was acting protectively, and she was soon helped by an even more powerful and gentler force, allowing Qiqi to quickly recover.
"Ha ha, so fast, faster than any plane Qiqi has been on!" Jiaqi opened her eyes only to see the earth below her retreating like a rapidly receding tide, flying past thousands of mountain peaks in almost an instant.
"Alright, hold tight, we’re almost there." Jia Yan laughed and then slowly came to a stop in the air.
"Wow!!"
What appeared before Jiaqi was a sprawling snowy mountain landscape, with several peaks nestled in the clouds. The vast expanses of snow and the view where water met the sky nearly made Qiqi, who had never seen such beauty before, scream with joy.
"Ha ha, Uncle Jiu, is this the Himalayan Mountain? It’s so beautiful, it looks even better from a high altitude."
Although Jiaqi felt cold, she was still extremely happy, looking around joyfully.
Of course, during the flight and the change in temperature, Jia Yan’s help had been extremely beneficial to Jiaqi. He could have completely negated the effects of the flight’s inertia on her, as well as the current cold, but after some thought, he decided against it.
Little Qiqi was probably the strongest and with the most potential among the official members of Jia’s family, aside from Jia Yan himself. Jia Yan had considered that in the future, if he wanted Jia’s family to be safe and sound, having another strong member with combat power was essential.
He certainly could not rely on that ’Sheriff lady’ or the person near her who ’seems to be Jia Yan’s son.’ Jia Yan didn’t know how to face these two individuals right now. Currently, the best hope seemed to be placed on Jia Qi.
Moreover, her talent was truly not bad. Even though her powers did not grow as fast in these ten years due to her young age, eleven was a good starting point. With his personal guidance, it was not impossible for Jiaqi to reach Heavenly Peak in the future, and perhaps even challenge Star Space Level, there might even be a slight possibility!
If that were the case, the vast Jia family was unlikely to experience weakness for at least a generation or two.
"Uncle Jiu, you’re so good!"
After enjoying the scenery, Little Princess Qiqi respected her Uncle Jia Yan even more. Since her family had been somewhat indifferent to her, Qiqi had constantly placed her hopes on the vague memory of ’Uncle Jiu’ in her mind. Now, that same Uncle Jiu who could only appear in her thoughts was here in person, truly powerful and so good to her, naturally, her affection for Jia Yan grew stronger.
"He he. Silly girl, who else should Uncle Jiu be good to if not his most well-behaved niece?" Jia Yan patted his cute niece’s little head.
However, his tone changed as he said something to Jiaqi under the beautiful snowy mountain scenery that took her by surprise.
"Qiqi, Uncle is going to have to leave in a few days, will you be okay staying at home by yourself?"
"Eh?" Hearing this, Jiaqi immediately changed her expression from greedily admiring the snowy scene and quickly turned her head.
Girls will be girls; tears come as soon as they’re called.
"Uncle Jiu! You’re leaving again? I won’t let you!" Jiaqi’s tears streamed down, and in no time, she had become a little tearful figure.
"Eh, Uncle won’t be gone for that long this time. Just be a good girl and wait at home, okay? After Uncle comes back this time, I’ll be home for a very, very long time," Jia Yan explained somewhat dejectedly.
"I don’t care, I don’t want you to go. Otherwise, I’ll go with you!" Jiaqi played the child’s trump card, crying loudly even though she was not really at the age to be so irrational.
"Go together, huh..." Jia Yan pondered for a moment.
He thought it might not be such a bad idea after all; if he wanted Jia Lin to become a Strong One, exposing her to combat might be beneficial. And if she truly couldn’t handle the combat, then it would be better to give up sooner rather than later. Anyways, this Avatar of Jia Yan could protect the Jia family for a long while, and by that time, who knows if the True Body would be able to send another Avatar.
"Well, okay, but you’ll have to come up with a good excuse to fool your mom. I certainly don’t want to be nagged by her later on," Jia Yan nodded and said.
Jiaqi instantly went from tears to laughter. Honestly, Jia Yan couldn’t understand how women could so swiftly switch between crying and laughing.
"Yay! Thank you, Uncle Jiu! You’re the best! Qiqi loves Uncle Jiu to death!"
Jiaqi laughed heartily behind Jia Yan’s back, brimming with cheer.
The next day.
Jiaqi, who had deceived her mother Jia Lin with the story of a spring outing organized by the school, said her goodbyes to a group of Jia family Guards early in the morning as if threatening them with future trouble should they not help her with her disguise.
The guards really had no other option. This little ancestor of theirs was stronger than all of them, and with the mysterious Mo Ke there to protect her, there shouldn’t be any problems, right? At least on Earth, how many could possibly harm Princess Qiqi under Mo Ke’s protection?
They thought of Qiqi and ’Mo Ke’s’ adventure as merely a trip to some place on Earth; on Earth, the members of the Defense Team were already immensely powerful beings, and Mo Ke was a force to be reckoned with on another level. If he couldn’t protect the princess, then even Jiaqi at the Jia Family Mansion would be utterly helpless!
They were right about one thing: Jia Yan’s Power was indeed enough to protect Jiaqi. But, they were wrong about something else...
That is, Jia Yan’s trip with Little JiaQi was far from a simple adventure on Earth!
"Uncle Jiu! Where are we going? Are we going to the Underground World? I heard there are some powerful monsters there. Uncle Jiu must have been fighting monsters in the underground for many years to protect Earth, right?"
As an armored vehicle stopped in the forest some distance from Return City, Jiaqi’s chirpy and lively voice kept ringing out nonstop.
She was like a vibrantly energetic little bird, flitting about Jia Yan and bombarding him with all sorts of questions. Despite her innocent and endearing demeanor being amusing, even Jia Yan felt she was a bit too noisy after a while.
Little JiaQi was carrying a large backpack today; having heard it was to be a trip of several days, Jia Lin had specifically instructed the servants to prepare lots of provisions and the like. A huge backpack almost completely hid Jiaqi’s small figure.
Fortunately, she had Brainwave Power, which she used to lighten the backpack considerably, allowing her to maintain her sprightliness.
The two walked deeper into the forest.
The driver of the armored vehicle waiting behind them was the one who had seen Jia Yan a few times. His task was simply to wait here for a few days, and then to pick up Jiaqi and Jia Yan when they returned.
"At least there’s a tent. Sigh, these next few days won’t be easy. Who knows what Mo Ke is up to. Is he perhaps training Princess Jiaqi? But what’s the use of training in such an ordinary countryside for a being at the Heavenly Peak of Earth Level? I don’t get it, I just don’t get it."
He took out a cigarette, then looked towards the mountains and flicked his lighter, attempting to ignite his smoke.
But the very next moment, the flame shot out and stopped right at the cigarette’s tip.
The driver was stupefied.
Above the mountain, a medium-sized Battleship from the Earth Alliance Fleet slowly approached, gliding down for a landing!
Even a medium-sized battleship, being over a hundred meters long, blocked out the light over the entire little mountain.
The next second, the driver saw a figure wearing a mask, holding a little girl, slowly rising into the air and then entering the battleship through the opened bay doors...
"Cough, cough, cough!" The driver choked hard on his cigarette, then his jaw dropped in shock.
"Damn!"
