Chapter 1139: Chapter 20 Does he look like ’Uncle Jiu’? 【Subscribe to the official version】

Of course, even a High-space Level existence that could defeat a Secondary Powerhouse felt a bit ashamed to bully more than twenty Heaven-level existences. Thus, Jia Yan decided to make it quick; within about a breath’s time, he had knocked out all of those people.

Looking at his subordinates groaning on the ground, the burly powerhouse felt that his so-called ’strongest Earth people’ were utterly weak!

"Okay, from today onwards, I’ll be the only one protecting Jia Qi," Jia Yan said indifferently, glancing at the figures sprawled across the floor.

"Why should you?!" One of the bodyguard team members, who had just been taken down, hadn’t recovered yet and dared to raise his voice to Jia Yan.

"Why?" Jia Yan looked at him, his expression unchanged, and slowly replied, "Because of my fist. When you can defeat me, you can come and take back the bodyguard privileges."

He tucked his hands behind his back and began to walk slowly into the woods. Then, as if remembering something, he turned back to ask the stunned, burly man standing to the side.

"Oh, I forgot to ask for permission. Captain, is my arrangement okay?"

Damn, can I even say it’s not?!

Seeing all his subordinates on the ground looking at him with eager eyes, the burly man didn’t want to agree, but he didn’t dare to refuse!

"Hehe, it’s fine. You’ll be the only one protecting Princess Qi Qi from now on. I’ll rearrange the others," he nearly fled the scene, covering his face.

Jia Yan just smiled faintly and then vanished, entering the woods.

After that, apart from being able to reach him through the Jia Family’s internal communicators, no one saw him for the rest of the day. Even the burly powerhouse, who activated all the Defense Team’s surveillance devices, couldn’t catch a glimpse of him!

Within a day, both the Jia Family Defense Team and all the servants were abuzz with news of an individual with a strong background and even stronger abilities—one that had joined their ranks. Even those who boasted the title of ’Earth’s Strongest’ changed their expressions at the mention of this person’s name!

This individual was known as Mo Ke. Although only a few had seen his true face, everyone was aware that on his first day, he not only showed no fear of the Defense Team’s higher-ups but even gave Princess Qi Qi, the little tyrant of the Jia Family Mansion, a thorough reprimand. It seemed he had had a conversation with Lady Jia Lin as well, instructing her on the proper way to discipline a child.

Who could be cooler than that? Absolutely no one – he was off the charts! Plus, they heard that Lady Jia Lin even inquired with the Earth Alliance Headquarters about him, only to stop any attempts at dismissing him, apparently due to his truly exceptional status!

A member of the Defense Team who even genuine members of the Jia Family respected? That was a massive reputation to have, and instantly, ’Mo Ke’, an entity known only by name and unseen in true form, became one of the most untouchable figures within the Jia Family, aside from the family members themselves.

Jia Yan was clueless about how Kari had endorsed his identity, but he knew that without his own approval, Kari wouldn’t dare reveal his real identity to anyone. Besides, Kari probably never guessed that ’Mo Ke’ was Lord Assassin himself, right?

"Hehe, looks like Little Qiqi is still mad at her Uncle Jiu... kids..."

Jia Yan didn’t bother to deliberately conceal himself; he just didn’t want others to see him. If so, they simply wouldn’t be able to, unless they possessed Heavenly Level Power, and even then, if he really intended to hide, not even some of the weaker Star Space Level beings could detect him.

Early in the morning, Jia Yan stood by the gate of the Jia Family Manor, his figure lazy and relaxed, in stark contrast to the upright posture of the Defense Team members beside him.

However, every member of the Defense Team looked at him with skepticism, their faces pallid if they had seen Jia Yan’s power, or eager to test the rumors about his fearsome reputation if they hadn’t.

But Jia Yan had no interest in fighting them again.

He watched as the bulletproof vehicle reserved for the Jia family approached, its passenger being his grandniece, Jia Qi.

The little princess saw Jia Yan waiting by the side of the road and pouted, high and mighty, evidently reluctant to travel alongside someone who had disrespected her the day before.

Nonetheless, the driver still stopped the car next to Jia Yan.

Jia Qi used her Brainwave Power to hold the door shut, unwilling to open it for Jia Yan who was about to get in, but she felt a strength far beyond her own gently pushing her power aside, and then the door opened on its own.

"Good morning, Jia Qi," Jia Yan said as he climbed into the car.

"Hmph! I’m not good at all," Jia Qi retorted with her arms crossed, ignoring him.

"Heh heh, don’t be angry. If you weren’t behaving badly, I wouldn’t have scolded you yesterday, right? If you’re good, I can’t even begin to tell you how much I like you, so why would I scold you?" Jia Yan chuckled and then reached out to pat Jia Qi’s little head.

Jia Qi didn’t react at all, but the driver of the car, upon seeing this, almost lost control and crashed into a wall!

His eyes widened as he stared at the scene unfolding behind him, his mouth gaping open. What was going on?!

As a driver for the Jia family, he was also a powerful figure—not far behind a few of the top experts of the Defense Team. He held the people from Jia’s family in the highest respect, as this was the ’family’ determined by the Lord Assassin who had saved Earth several times.

He never imagined he would see the day when a subordinate of the Jia family would act this way towards Princess Qi Qi. Even in his dreams, he treated the Little Princess from Jia as an Upper Rank.

Moreover, it seemed that aside from being somewhat angry, the Little Princess appeared helplessly resigned to the situation?!

Impossible! The former Princess Qi Qi would have struck back already. Her power was even greater than his own.

"Warn you, don’t touch my head!" Jia Qi indeed found Jia Yan’s action unpleasant. She pushed at the arm of the man in front of her wearing a mask, but she couldn’t avoid it at all.

"You’re just a child, you don’t understand. An adult pats your head to encourage you, don’t you see? I’m just encouraging you to behave. Otherwise, wouldn’t your parents be very sad? Understand?" Jia Yan’s power wasn’t something she could break free from. At this moment, he gently patted Jia Qi’s little head, treating her like a younger relative.

"Wu wu wu, bad man! I don’t want your encouragement. What right do you have?" Jia Qi started to make a fuss, kicking and punching.

"I told you before, you must respect adults and not use violence at will. Have you forgotten that you were once kidnapped? Don’t think you’re so strong. There are countless people stronger than you in this universe. If you don’t learn to behave, similar experiences may happen again. Stop fussing."

After Jia Yan spoke these words, Jia Qi, seeing that he was earnest, understood. She wasn’t truly a bad child; she had just been spoiled. She stopped her protest.

Also, regarding Jia Yan’s mention of being ’taken away by a bad person,’ although she was very young back then, her memory of it remained somewhat clear due to her early development of Brainwave Power, especially her impression of ’Uncle Jiu’ who came to her rescue.

But why was the memory of Uncle Jiu like encountering a huge dark ’Shadow’? Jia Qi had asked her mother, but she didn’t get a straight answer. All she knew was that her Uncle Jiu was one of the greatest people on Earth and the real driving force behind the Jia family’s current status.

If she became a bad child, wouldn’t Uncle Jiu be upset too? Thinking about this, Jia Qi calmed down.

However, why did she feel this bad person in front of her seemed a bit familiar, like Uncle Jiu?

"No, he’s nothing like Uncle Jiu. My Uncle Jiu is the strongest and greatest being in the world. How could he be this bad person who wants to control everything?" Jia Qi was far from acknowledging Jia Yan as her uncle at the moment and frowned, dismissing the idea that Jia Yan resembled her Uncle Jiu.

Naturally, Jia Yan had no idea she had gone through such thoughts. At the moment, he was happy that she was gradually getting used to his presence, so he smiled softly and started chatting with his niece about various topics.

The driver in front was more and more shocked. This guy was a bodyguard? He seemed more like a senior family member, and he was quite controlling. What’s more, it was impressive that the Princess Qi Qi, who used to make a fuss daily, was actually listening to Mo Ke’s approach. She had become obedient!

"Gosh, Princess Qi Qi has become obedient," the driver thought as he saw Jia Qi start chatting with Jia Yan, wondering if he was seeing things.

During the conversation with Jia Qi, Jia Yan realized that his niece wasn’t really bad. She was just a bit lonely.

Even though there were so many people in the household, her mother had given birth to a sister, her father had gone off to work in the Earth Fleet, and her grandparents were only focused on taking care of the sister and another ’brother.’ She thought she had been abandoned, although everyone still loved her. It was inevitable she felt neglected, and without proper discipline, it had led her to act out.

"Sigh, even my family has these kinds of issues. It seems I’ll have to make sure the family pays more attention to this in the future after revealing my identity," Jia Yan sighed deeply.

"We’ve arrived. You should go to school. Remember, don’t make trouble in school, got it?"

The car jolted to a stop, and Jia Yan realized they had arrived at the school where Jia Qi was hiding her identity.

"Hmph, I’m a good student at school. Besides, what I do at school is none of your business!" Jia Qi huffed coldly.

Then, she quietly got out of the car in a secluded spot. Jia Yan watched through his Brainwave Power as the little niece just left the alley and met up with a familiar female student. The two girls smiled joyfully and walked hand in hand together.

Seeing this, Jia Yan nodded his head.

"This guy... Mo... uh," the driver, seeing Jia Yan still in the car, tried to greet this legendary strong figure of the Defense Team, but in the next moment, his face changed dramatically!

While he was looking at him, wanting to speak, this figure disappeared right in front of his very eyes, vanishing into thin air...
