Chapter 1079: Chapter 10 There’s Another Army! [Second Release in the Burst]
This was a breakthrough of True Energy!
"So that’s how it feels to control the environment? True Energy is actually developed through the variation of one’s own Brainwave Power and emerges as an ability to control the environment. Heh, although what I possess is just a rudiment, it’s enough to greatly enhance my strength."
"Especially when combating the Environmental Control Ability at the Respect Level, although this breakthrough in True Energy hasn’t reached that extent, it’s already sufficient to disrupt the controlling energy that the opponent has imposed on my body. It’s an incredibly handy tool!"
Jia Yan perceived the enhancement of his own power and couldn’t help but laugh sincerely.
He had taken a significant step toward his promotion to the Lord Level.
Moreover, after this breakthrough, his understanding of environmental control had greatly deepened. Initially, he had no clue about it. Without Senior Light and Shadow’s guidance, he would have never been able to grasp the secrets of environmental control wielded by Lord Level monsters.
Having rapidly grasped this secret, he now had a substantial ability to counter the greatest strategies of those at the Dignitary Level, which is the suppressive power of the environment.
"It seems my strength will receive a huge boost in the future. With the ability to counter the greatest power at the Respect Level, coupled with the combat heritage taught by Senior Light and Shadow, my strength is going to soar as if on a plane!"
"The Dignity Level..." Thinking of the times he had been suppressed by Respect Level forces, a glint of light flickered in Jia Yan’s eyes.
"Alright, kid, you still have a long way to go, and you can’t be pleased with yourself just yet," the Senior Light and Shadow somehow understood Jia Yan’s thoughts at that moment and scolded him as if to spur him on.
"Yes, Senior, I have a long way to go." Jia Yan accepted the scolding, but privately he thought that it was Senior Light and Shadow who was more excited earlier. How come he was talking about him now?
However, that was just a fleeting thought in his mind. With regards to Senior Light and Shadow, Jia Yan grew even more respectful, for this monster was truly a transformative figure in his life, and he respected it wholly, despite it not being a real human being.
"Now that you’ve grasped the next stage of True Energy, I can teach you another method for dealing with large-scale enemies. It’s a technique mimicking the Environmental Control of Lord Level monsters, and it will also benefit your future promtion to the Dignity Level. So you’d better learn it well. Once you master this technique, typical Battleships will pose little threat to you."
"Yes!"
...
While Jia Yan was rapidly enhancing his abilities, the warfare of the Hao Tower Alliance was swiftly progressing as well.
The scale of the war had expanded from a few fixed points to almost full-scale combat across the territories!
The invading forces of the Red Tower Alliance comprised two fronts against the Hao Tower Alliance, which forced them to split their forces to counter the enemy’s advance.
In space, a thirty-meter-tall Mecha zoomed through the universe, narrowly avoiding the countless arcs of artillery fire screaming past its frame.
If Jia Yan had seen this Mecha, he would have exclaimed that this was the Gundam he had seen in the cartoons when he was human.
Whether this Mecha was a Gundam or not was uncertain, but one thing was sure: in actual space combat, robots like these, even those with the strength of the Gundam from the cartoons, were far from enough.
This was the cosmos of the Strong Ones, where merely well-performing robots were not capable of dominating warfare.
A strange object whizzed past the Mecha, which was emitting bursts of energy attacks, and then the Mecha exploded into pieces, its pilot turned into cosmic dust without even the chance to scream.
"Star-level Existence, hurry, fire the main cannon! Quick!" A Commander in a nearby Battleship shouted in terror.
"It’s no use; the main cannon just exchanged fire with an enemy Battleship and we’re out of energy for an attack! Ah! The Star-level monster is approaching—damn it!" The second in command also cried out in fear.
However, their shouts didn’t last long as the eerie monster brutally slammed into the side of their Battleship, which then split into two halves.
It was a group-scale battle with over three hundred Battleships on both sides. The clash of decently performing vessels made for a spectacle grander than the most advanced science fiction movies on Earth, incredibly shocking to behold.
The myriad hues of attack beams continuously fired across space while a fleet of small, fast-attack craft weaved between them, targeting the massive Battleships.
Other weapons included space mines, space fighters, and so on. The variety of weapons used plus the many different types of Battleships created intense combat scenarios all around, even more magnificent and exemplary of a real space war than the war between Jia Yan and Rong Bo.
And interspersed among them, the Starry Sky Level Experts acted as the true space assassins, leaving virtually no enemy vessels or weapons unharmed.
"Damn it, our Starry Sky Level Experts are not as numerous as theirs, if the Red Tower Alliance has any skill, they shouldn’t rely on Starry Sky Level Experts to bully our Alliance for having fewer people and fewer Strong Ones!"
Onboard a Battleship of the Hao Tower Alliance, Lord Obi, the General Commander of this battle, roared like a madman within the Battleship.
When another Battleship of the Hao Tower Alliance exploded into light, destroyed in the Starry Sky, the Tiger-Headed Monster finally lost his patience.
"Damn! A mere Mid-Starry Sky Period acting so arrogantly, watch me kill him." The Tiger-Headed Monster roared ferociously, and, disregarding the shouts of his subordinates, charged out of the command flagship.
"I’ve been waiting for you!"
Unexpectedly, that Monster, who was originally believed to be in the Mid-Starry Sky Period, suddenly surged in power when the Tiger-Headed Monster charged at him!
He was actually a terrifying Starry Sky Sovereign Level Monster!
"Commander Rzanine of the Red Tower Alliance’s Tenth Army is here, die!" The monster unleashed an immensely horrifying aura, and then his Environmental Control Ability burst forth violently.
"Not good!" Lord Obi immediately sensed trouble. He might be at the Peak of Starry Sky, but he did not believe he could fight a Starry Sky Sovereign Level Monster.
He quickly changed direction, for although sacred level monsters were formidable and fearful, they would not easily take his life if he was protected by the entire group army’s Battleships. All he needed to do was to escape back into the flagship, and the enemy would have no chance of catching him.
But how could the monster, who had tricked him into revealing himself with such a strategy, let go of such a golden opportunity?
In a region of Space filled with stars, the environment suddenly tightened viciously!
"Ugh!" The Tiger-Headed Monster’s eyes bulged, and he stared deathly at the Monster in front of him; he knew the protection measures of the subsequently launched Battleships had been activated. If he could just dodge the monster’s strike, he could survive.
However, that was obviously impossible. A ’Shadow’ flickered lightly in the void...
"Bas... tard..." The Tiger-Headed Monster’s expression froze, and then his head parted from his body.
"Aah! Lord Obi is dead; run, the enemy possesses a Respect Level Monster. Their Commander actually took action personally."
As the news of Obi’s death spread, the already disadvantaged Hao Tower Alliance fleet could not resist for long, and upon hearing this, the entire fleet disintegrated into retreat.
The enemy’s Battleships naturally wouldn’t pass up the opportunity to annihilate a large number of enemies en masse, and now, one after another, they pursued the fleeing fleet of the Hao Tower Alliance.
Without the presence of a General Commander, the collapsed Hao Tower Alliance Battleships couldn’t muster any effective resistance, and all those small ships released from the Battleships, as well as the Mecha-like robots, couldn’t be retrieved. They were left in Space, waiting for their enemies to slowly reap their lives.
The news of the disastrous defeat at the front lines was immediately conveyed to Hao Tower Star in the rear.
At this moment, Hao Tower Star had already started a full-scale armed wartime preparedness period, with half of its population of two billion joining the reserve forces. The entire planet had also massively ramped up military production.
An advanced Alien Species, once it unleashes its production force, is incredibly terrifying. The entire planet’s burst of productivity was now immensely frightening, with Hao Tower Star and a few surrounding Resource Stars’ outputs enabling the construction of an average of fifty Battleships a day!
Even later on, as the proficiency of the work increased, the production rate would rise even more.
This demonstrates the frightening potential for war of a Star Space Civilization. Generally speaking, an Alliance possessing such vast galaxy resources is not easily dealt with.
However, when the war intelligence from the front line was received, the entire planet fell silent.
"Obi is dead. We had just been discussing visiting the Internal Star Systems in the Northern Star Domain after the war ended!"
"Don’t think too far ahead. I’m saddened by Obi’s death too, but now we shouldn’t dwell on his death, because that region no longer has any obstacle. Part of the Tenth Army’s forces might pass through that gap and attack our core. Even Hao Tower Star could be targeted!"
A dozen Starry Sky Level Experts gathered in the conference hall of Hao Tower Star, expressions filled with sorrow, anger, and a hint of urgency.
Now was the time for the Hao Tower Alliance to display its war potential. If the enemy attacked Hao Tower Star in one fell swoop, or if they managed to seize several Resource Stars, then no matter how strong Hao Tower Star was, without resources, defeat was inevitable.
"No, wait, there’s another army on the Tenth Army’s path!" As these monsters were holding their anxious meeting, one monster suddenly pointed at the military exercise screen in front of him in astonishment.
"What army?" Men Bo, seated at the head, stood up in surprise. As the highest-ranking officer needing to be stationed on Hao Tower Star, he was heartbroken over the war and the death of his comrades, yet he had to consider the bigger picture. Seeing someone mention a potential force that could block the follow-up troops of the Tenth Army, he naturally felt excited.
