Chapter 1070: Chapter 1: The Border’s Alliance Fleet. [New Volume - Subscribe Requested]

Chaos Starfield, this was a mysterious area spanning about three light-years.

Because of the obstruction of the Chaos Starfield, the civilizations within the starfield were cleaved apart, and even though it was only a three-light-year obstruction, it still formed the border of several civilization areas.

Completely blocked outside were the reigning superpower of the Solv Star Region, the Ze Empire, as well as another Southern Star Region, and the Northern Star Region, which was composed of numerous small countries.

The Northern Star Domain, this was an area in the broadest sense that was closest to the Desolate star field; unlike the other regions, it did not have a stable government but was instead made up of hundreds of large and small countries in the starry sky area.

Although wars were constant, when facing external invasions, this area, which paled in comparison to the power of the Ze Empire or the Southern Star Region, would unite.

The Allied Army they formed might not compare to the Southern Star Region or the Ze Empire, yet, in the past history, they had managed to repel the invasion forces of the two main enemies outside their region.

Although the reasons behind this were complex, with excuses ranging from the Ze Empire’s indifference to this small starry sky area, sending only flank divisions at will, to the Southern Star Region’s weak economy, which couldn’t sustain a protracted battle, it all indicated that this war-torn area possessed a considerable combat power, and if one day the entire region united. Perhaps the energy that erupted might even surprise the Ze Empire.

And the Chaos Starfield was the buffer zone between the three major powers; it was unlikely for anyone to let a large fleet go through the Chaotic Area for an invasion, so this became the last defense for the three regions.

On this day, a Northern Star Domain Alliance fleet stationed on the outskirts of the Chaotic Area detected fluctuations of light from a fleet within the Chaos Starfield...

"Warning, warning! The fleet ahead, please identify your military name."

There was considerable unease throughout the fleet, a hint of alertness towards the approaching presence. To an Alliance fleet, this place was the Chaos Starfield, not a focal point for defense, so they did not have many stationed troops.

And the approaching fleet displayed in the signal turned out to be several hundred strong! This number was not much different from theirs.

"We are the Giant Mosquito Fleet from the Desolate Star System." Not long after, the mysterious fleet sent back such a message.

"Giant Mosquito Fleet? Is that the one from the remote communication before, the one chased out by the top ten Strong Ones... Jia Yan, right? So it’s them."

On the flagship of that Alliance fleet, the highest-ranking officer of the fleet, upon hearing the subordinate’s report, immediately thought of the message they had received before.

The border generals of the Northern Star Domain had always paid attention to the Desolate Star System, but they treated it like watching a monkey perform tricks because, in comparison to the Northern Star Domain, the Desolate Star System was indeed a small place, just a galaxy, after all. Although the Northern Star Domain only spans over a couple of dozen star systems, it was not just a matter of simple addition but geometrically stronger. In addition to the star systems, there were far more empty space zones, signifying many more resources, and overall, the Northern Star Domain could be several hundred times more powerful than the Desolate Star System.

Then there was the difference in the Strong Ones. Although the Northern Star Domain also lacked openly Stellar-level Strong Ones, it had over a hundred Lord Level dignitaries!

What was even more terrifying were the Semi-permanent Star Level Experts. Semi-permanent Star Level Experts, because they always come and go, were an unknown quantity in the Northern Star Domain. However, those that reside permanently there were at least about ten or so confirmed. Any one of these experts could easily sweep the Desolate Star System, or rather, the Desolate Star System had always been under the control of some forces of the Northern Star Domain, and those so-called top ten Strong Ones had mostly originated from there.

Therefore, the defending fleet did not pay much attention to this so-called ’Lord Jia Yan’ from the Desolate Star System. The only thing was that the rumored Giant Mosquito Fleet seemed significantly larger than reported, which surprised them.

"This Giant Mosquito Fleet is stronger than reported, and their arrival time here is off, how could they be so fast? Could it be that they did not travel along the edge of the Chaos Starfield?" The fleet’s commander was somewhat surprised as he looked at the identification signal on the screen.

He thought about it and couldn’t figure out the reason, but he didn’t want to dwell on it. In fact, after seeing the Giant Mosquito Fleet, aside from being slightly surprised at their speed, he felt no great fear, as the strength of the Giant Mosquito Fleet, though strong, was only on par with his fleet. In this area, aside from their force, there were two other Northern Star Domain fleets. If a real battle broke out, they would come to support them at any time!

"General sir, the Giant Mosquito Fleet has sent us a request for entry. Should we let them through?"

As the commander was assessing the strength of the Giant Mosquito Fleet, his adjutant asked him.

"Let them through. Our Northern Star Domain won’t have one more Giant Mosquito Fleet, nor will it lack such a force as long as it doesn’t blatantly fly the flags of the Ze Empire and the Southern Star Region. Sigh..." The commander didn’t think too much and simply spoke out.

...

In space, the two confronting fleets crossed paths.

The two fleets were incredibly close, the Northern Star Domain treating the Giant Mosquito Fleet as if it were a countryside bumpkin fleet, while the Giant Mosquito Fleet, buoyed by a series of achievements, had confidence bursting through the roof, so their morale was also quite formidable.

The two sides had actually come so close that their bridges were almost touching before they slowly withdrew a little distance from each other...

The gravity effects caused by both fleets were nearly breaking each other’s alarms, yet neither side retreated.

Indeed, the fleet that had just brushed past the Northern Alliance fleet was none other than the Giant Mosquito Fleet led by Lord Jia Yan!

However, at this moment, there was a noticeable absence of the Adisa within the fleet.

"Lord, it truly is a pity that the Adisa couldn’t join our ranks. Its current condition isn’t suitable, and rushing it into action would endanger the fleet. Leaving it at the border might allow for quick dispatch in emergencies, a compromise of sorts," Kama expressed some regret beside Jia Yan’s colossal figure within the Camp-Level Spaceship.

Jia Yan’s fifty-meter-long body sprawled across a significant area of the Camp-Level Spaceship, sharing the sentiment of regret.

"Kama, understand that the Adisa must not appear here. We’re operating under unspoken rules as a merchant fleet from the Desolate Star System entering the Northern Star Domain. If the Adisa were to show up, it wouldn’t be a minor incident. Who knows, if it appeared, the entire Northern Star Domain might launch an attack on us," Jia Yan explained.

Within the Giant Mosquito Fleet, not many knew about the significance of the Adisa; only Jia Yan was aware that in its incomplete condition, aside from attracting attention, it served little purpose. It was better left hidden in a secluded spot in the Chaotic Area.

"Lord Jia Yan, there’s no need to worry. I have activated the long-range control feature. Although we can’t control it as seamlessly as if it were right in front of us, as long as we are within the Northern Star Domain, I can manage its simple movements," a device emitted a faint voice from a small corner where Jia Yan’s body lay, audible only to him.

"Understood, Senior. However, the likelihood of us needing the Adisa is slim, after all. Given its current state, it’s not invincible in the Northern Star Domain. It might even attract the covetous attention of some Semi-permanent Star Level beings, which would be inappropriate," Jia Yan spoke gravely to this machinery.

From his words, it seemed that the machine was actually a temporary residence of the Senior Light and Shadow!

But this must be what Jia Yan had hoped for. The presence of Senior Light and Shadow, like that of the Adisa, would have a profound impact on ordinary beings, and Lord Jia Yan had no desire to attract the scrutiny of the powers and Strong Ones in the Chaos Starfield upon his arrival.

The two fleets slowly passed by each other.

"This Giant Mosquito Fleet is indeed extraordinary. It is said they’ve only recently formed, yet they already possess such formidable military presence; seeing them, their Commander must not be a mere country bumpkin. It’s quite possible he’s a professionally trained military specialist," the executive officer aboard the command flagship of the Northern fleet remarked in amazement at the artistry of the Mosquito Fleet Commander.

As so many battleships passed each other by, the specialists on this side were breaking out in a sweat, while the opposing commander and operators seemed to handle it with ease.

Of course, the executive officer was merely surprised; such a performance by the Giant Mosquito Fleet was something a slightly more capable commander from the Northern Star Domain could achieve. Without actual combat, the performance of the Giant Mosquito Fleet was far from shocking for him.

After the two fleets passed each other, the Northern fleet simply stayed put calmly, while the Giant Mosquito Fleet continued forward without issue.

"The defenses of the Northern Star Domain are just as lax as rumors suggest. It seems the internal strife among the states and powers here truly has reached an unfathomable level," Jia Yan thought incredulously as he looked back at the motionless defensive fleet in the distance.

"Boss, you don’t understand our Northern Star Domain. The so-called Alliance fleet might as well not exist. How many times have invasions by the Luozi Empire and the Southern Star Region wiped out the front-line defense fleets before we scrambled to gather our combat power? A functioning Alliance fleet that doesn’t turn on each other is already a rarity," Kama explained to Jia Yan with a wry smile.

Jia Yan merely nodded in response to the explanation, but inside he felt a hint of pleasure. The more chaotic the Northern Star Domain was, the better for him. The operations he wanted to conduct here would be more difficult in a tightly controlled area. A Northern Star Domain like this was the perfect venue for his plans.
