Time flew by, and before they knew it, the day before the Dragon Boat Festival had arrived. Luo Qiao finished her work early in the afternoon and, on her way home, found a safe spot to take out a large bag of zongzi that she had prepared in advance over the past few days in her space. She was also carrying the Dragon Boat Festival gift that her project team had distributed that day.

When she arrived home and put her things down, she first called her mentor and his wife, "Mentor’s wife, Yichen and I will bring the kids over to deliver some zongzi in a bit, and we can have dinner with you and mentor tonight."

Feng Shumin laughed, "Good, good, good, it just so happens that your mentor received some seafood from an old friend today, and I’ll cook it for you tonight."

Luo Qiao had already prepared alcohol, tea, salted duck eggs, pippi shrimp, and various flavors of zongzi for her mentor and his wife. She also asked Lu Yichen to pick up two roast ducks on his way from work, planning to leave one for Rong Daniang and Elder Rong.

Lu Yichen called ahead and reserved six roast ducks, asking the shop to package them separately. When he got home, he took one to Elder Rong and Rong Daniang, letting them have an extra dish for the evening. The couple truly had a tacit understanding.

Then, taking his wife and daughters, he grabbed their stuff, drove to his mentor’s house, and planned to spend the night there. Tomorrow, they would head directly back to the Luo family’s home and spend the night at the Gu family’s home.

Once in the car, Lu Yichen said, "Qiao Bao, keep one of the roast ducks, pack up the others, so we don’t have to make another trip tomorrow."

Feng Shumin turned and quietly glanced towards the front gate, whispering, "They came to ask your mentor for help."
