It turned out that a college classmate of Luo Xuyuan had called him to say he had seen his younger sister being bullied at the department store. Lu Yichen walked over, "Well, we heard you were being bullied and were coming to rescue you. Turns out you were quite capable and managed a triumphant return."

While he talked to his sister, his eyes were on Luo Qiao, "You didn’t suffer any losses, did you?"

Luo Qiao smiled, "Of course not."

Lu Yichen smiled indulgently, "It’s almost noon, let’s have lunch together."

Luo Qiao nodded, "Quanjude is just ahead, today we’ll treat Xiao Ya to roast duck."

Yuan Jianing raised her hand, "Agreed."

The group arrived at the restaurant, and since they were early, they found a private room with a pleasant atmosphere. They ordered two roasted ducks, one to make soup with the bones and the other to deep-fry.

Luo Qiao asked, "Does her family live near the department store?"

Ning Lingyu nodded, "Their family’s residential compound is right behind it. Fan Bing’s wife probably knows all about this morning’s incident by now, and it wouldn’t be like her to not make a fuss."

Luo Qiao looked at her cousin, "Then you better stay far away. Don’t let her drag you into it too."

Ning Lingyu replied, "What’s it got to do with me? It’s not like I’m being demoted because I helped her with something."

Luo Qiao put down her teacup, "Some people don’t care about that; you better be careful just in case."

Xiao Ya also spoke up, "Qiaoqiao is right. Some people just love to cause trouble, and if someone stirs things up, who knows if they might head straight for you in a fit of rage. You better watch out for yourself."

Lu Yiting chimed in, "Also, don’t go anywhere alone. Always have someone with you. It’s better to be safe than sorry; caution is the best policy."

Luo Qiao burst into laughter, "Let’s not scare her anymore, look at her face."

Lu Yichen spoke up, "Don’t worry, I’ll call the department store manager later when I get back to the office. I’ll tell him to keep those people in check and remind their families to keep them on a tight leash, so they don’t go looking for trouble."

Yuan Jiaming didn’t speak, but thought to himself that in the future he would make time to secretly pick her up and drop her off from work, to avoid those people causing trouble.

After eating, Lu Yichen and the others went their separate ways, while Luo Qiao and her three friends headed to the Temple of Heaven for a visit.

When Lu Yichen returned to his office, he immediately called Manager Yan at the department store, "Hello, is this Manager Yan? This is Lu Yichen."

"Oh, hello, hello. We were just talking about you this morning."

"I’m calling to ask Manager Yan to keep the involved parties in line. Make sure their families keep them under control to avoid any further trouble."

No sooner had Manager Yan hung up the phone than he heard crying and yelling coming from the corridor. He frowned, stood up, and walked outside his office, only to find Fan Bing’s wife creating a scene at the procurement department’s doorway.

The scene was extremely chaotic. If it weren’t for the procurement staff protecting Bai Haixia, she would have probably been attacked already.
