Chapter 615: Chapter 615: The Reemergence of the Excess Birth Guerrilla Squad

Luo Qiao looked at Luo Haotian, whose forehead was still beaded with sweat, "Dad, I’m leaving now. Wait a moment and let Lu Yichen take you back."

Lu Yichen, holding a platform ticket, sent her onto the train and made sure she was settled before getting off. As he watched the train slowly start and pull out of the platform until it was completely out of sight, he then turned around and left the station.

Luo Qiao had bought a sleeper ticket. The three berths opposite her were already taken, as well as the upper berth on her side, leaving only the middle berth above her unoccupied.

Luo Qiao casually took a medical book out of her bag and began to read. Across from her, on one of the berths, was a pregnant woman who seemed a bit off. Every time someone moved in the carriage, she would look around suspiciously.

It wasn’t easy to avoid noticing her after several such instances.

It wasn’t until almost dinner time that a man came over with three girls—it was the pregnant woman’s meal delivery.

The man spoke in a hushed voice, "Qiao Lian, don’t be scared. My daughters and I are just in the next carriage. Rest assured and lie down comfortably. By tomorrow afternoon, we’ll reach my second sister’s place for my nephew’s wedding. No one will pay us any attention."

Although he spoke softly, Luo Qiao heard clearly and understood the situation immediately. This was the Excess Birth Guerrilla Squad in action again.

The woman whispered back, "You’d better take them and leave quickly, to prevent others from getting suspicious."

The two girls called the pregnant woman ’auntie,’ and Luo Qiao thought to herself how clever this couple was, fearing being reported and having their daughters refer to them as uncle and auntie.

Everything went smoothly. After three days, when Luo Qiao got off the train, she first went to purchase everything her Big Brother needed for his wedding. She bought both a refrigerator and a TV, considering one as a contribution from the family and the other as a gift from herself, the little sister.

The next day she entrusted the factory to help deliver everything to the station, where she handled the consignment.

Then, carrying the items Luo Haotian had prepared for his comrade Wang Changjun, she transferred three times before arriving at his hometown. She had called Wang Changjun the day before to tell him she’d be visiting today.

Upon entering the village and was about to ask for directions, she heard a little boy ask, "Are you Sister Luo Qiao?"

Luo Qiao replied with a smile, "Yes, I am Luo Qiao. Your father is Wang Changjun."

The little boy beamed, "My dad told me to wait for you at the entrance of the village."

Luo Qiao took a handful of candies out of her bag and handed two to each of the following children, then looking at the little boy, she asked, "What’s your name?"

The boy politely thanked her before answering, "I’m Wang Chaozhou, named by my dad."

As Luo Qiao followed the boy into the village, people along the way asked Wang Chaozhou about Luo Qiao’s background. When they reached Wang Changjun’s house, he and his wife hurried out from the yard upon hearing their youngest son’s call.

Luo Qiao greeted them cheerfully, "Hello, Uncle Wang, hello, auntie. I’m Luo Qiao, Luo Haotian’s daughter. We’ve spoken on the phone a few times before."

Wang Changjun smiled, "Come inside and have a seat. I never expected Haotian’s daughter to be so beautiful. This is your aunty Liu Jing."

After exchanging pleasantries with Liu Jing, Luo Qiao handed over the things she brought, "These are from my dad, local specialties from Capital City."

Liu Jing said with a smile, "Your dad is really too polite."

Luo Qiao replied with a smile, "It’s not much, just a taste for everyone. You’re all welcome to visit Capital City."

After the pleasantries, Wang Changjun showed Luo Qiao the newly received tea. The quality was good, all new tea from this year. They quickly finished the handover, and Luo Qiao asked him to help ship the items to the roadside six miles away where a car would come to pick her up.

Wang Changjun had the village folks help pack the items onto ox carts. It took three ox carts to carry everything. Luo Qiao promptly paid each family according to the ledger.

Wang Changjun had his son watch the carts, not allowing anyone to come close, while Liu Jing insisted on having Luo Qiao come home for lunch and even packed some local specialties for her to take with her when she left.

Luo Qiao and Wang Changjun also agreed on a payment based on the quality and weight of the tea. Initially, Wang Changjun didn’t want to accept the money—it was a small favor and she was a comrade’s daughter—but Luo Qiao insisted that if he didn’t accept, she would feel uncomfortable returning.
