Chapter 559: Chapter 559 Preparing for Matchmaking

For the next few days, Xu Yuqing prepared the patient’s meals and brought them over, while Shifan took responsibility for taking care of Wei Cheng closely, and Luo Qiao was there to feed him and keep him company.

When Uncle Yuan Weizhou arrived with his third brother Yuan Jiaming, Little Uncle Yuan was already able to sit up with support.

Seeing that the patient was okay, Yuan Weizhou began to lecture him, and the younger generation quickly excused themselves.

Uncle Yuan Weizhou had work and couldn’t afford to delay for too long here; after consulting with the doctor and staying for two more stable days, he finally arranged for a hospital transfer.

Luo Qiao asked Xu Yuqing and Xu Shifan to return to Shen City to continue learning from Zheng Qiang and He Zijie, and she went back to the Capital with Little Uncle Yuan.

While Xu Yuqing was packing up Yuan Weicheng’s belongings, watching the interaction between the two, Luo Qiao had a thought that it wouldn’t be bad if these two could come together.

Xu Shifan and Xu Yuqing were ruthless people. Before the new year, the two siblings had gone back to the Xu Family and severed ties with their relatives and neighbors, and had also employed reverse psychology to get their biological father and grandmother to write a Severance Letter, with their clan and neighbors acting as witnesses.

The more Luo Qiao thought about it, the more she felt that the two were well-matched and planned to find opportunities for them to interact more in the future.

The next day, Xu Yuqing specially prepared a pot of chicken and vegetable porridge and put it into a thermal container for Yuan Weicheng to take on the train. Yuan Weicheng expressed his gratitude to the Xu siblings repeatedly.

They had purchased sleeper berths. After settling Little Uncle Yuan, Luo Qiao and Yuan Jiaming went to fetch hot water together. Luo Qiao filled a small basin halfway, intending to wipe down the table area.

Because there was a child in the neighboring berth who had obviously come over to make a mess earlier, there were crumbs and grease stains on the table, so Luo Qiao asked Yuan Jiaming to borrow a broom and dustpan from the conductor.

Just then, a man from the neighboring berth came over and said, "I’m sorry about that. We were sleeping earlier, and the kid came over and caused a ruckus. I was planning to come and clean up after making milk for my daughter."

Luo Qiao leaned over to look and saw a woman holding a baby, struggling to hold a bottle for feeding, while a little boy sat by her side, watching his sister drink milk with an envious look on his face.

Yuan Weizhou said, "It’s fine; we’re just cleaning up, no big deal."

After cleaning up and settling down, it wasn’t long before it was time for lunch. Luo Qiao had prepared plenty of food in advance and first took out some still-warm meat-stuffed biscuits, saying, "Uncle, Little Uncle, start with these. There’s still some warmth left in them. They won’t taste good once they’ve completely cooled."

She then served a bowl of hot chicken and vegetable porridge for Little Uncle Yuan from the thermal container and said, "Little Uncle, this porridge is all for you. It’s nutritious, and Yuqing made it just in time. It’s still hot and steaming. She really put her heart into it."

Yuan Weicheng’s hand, holding the spoon, hesitated for a moment, and Luo Qiao smiled, saying, "Yuqing’s cooking skills are indeed excellent, always leaves you wanting more."

After that, she poured a cup of oily tea for the uncle, for her fourth brother, and for herself, before sitting down to eat a meat-stuffed biscuit. However, she had only taken a few bites when she saw a little head poking out from the neighboring berth.

Without a word, the child simply stared at the meat-stuffed biscuit in her hand, making it somewhat difficult for Luo Qiao to continue eating. She stood up, wrapped one in parchment paper, and handed it over, "Here, take one for yourself."

The boy didn’t take it, instead, he turned to look at his parents with an inquiring gaze. He seemed really well-behaved, reminding Luo Qiao of Stone.

Luo Qiao smiled and said, "It’s okay; take it."

The middle-aged man stood up, looking a bit embarrassed and said, "I’m really sorry about that."

Luo Qiao said, "He’s quite cute. Let him have it."

The middle-aged man told his son, "Go ahead and take it, and say thank you to the sister."

The little boy, with his bright and sparkling big eyes, smiled sweetly and said, "Thank you, sister."

Luo Qiao smiled as well, "You’re welcome."

Perhaps feeling indebted, the man soon came over with a pack of Fragrant Torreya Nuts and said, "These are specialities from our hometown. I hope you don’t mind."

The man was quite talkative, discussing people’s livelihoods and the economy with Uncle Yuan throughout the journey, which made the travel less boring.

It turned out that this family was from Zhuji in Zhejiang province, originally going to the Yue Family in Guangdong. Upon arrival, they found that the entire family had gone to Beijing to attend their elder aunt’s son’s wedding. Since they were visiting relatives at the time, they missed the call and ended up taking the wrong path.

Luo Qiao thought that communication was still not advanced enough, as such mishaps wouldn’t happen in the future; a simple phone call could have settled everything without needing such a fuss.
