Luo Qiao rolled her eyes at Lu Yichen, "Fine then."

The next day, Lu Yichen still came and dropped her off not far from the school, watching her enter the school before he turned and left.

When she arrived in Capital City, Luo Qiao noticed that the examination venue was not far from her own house. She had been thinking about staying there since her house had been tidied up and she hadn’t stayed there yet.

But considering that doing so might make her seem unsociable and might put the teacher in charge in an awkward position, she dismissed the idea of staying at home and just called Luo Haotian to let him know she was back.

The next morning, Luo Haotian came over and everyone then learned that Luo Qiao’s home was in Capital City. After warmly greeting the teachers and fellow competitors, Haotian said, "You’re back in Capital, so stay at home tonight."

Soon two morning exams were over, and Luo Qiao asked for leave from the teacher in charge, mentioning that she had already informed her homeroom teacher, then saw Luo Haotian still waiting outside as she exited the exam center.

Luo Qiao said goodbye to her teacher and classmates before quickly running up to him, "Dad, have you been waiting here the whole time?"

Luo Haotian replied, "Yeah, I took the morning off today, I’ll take you to have some good food later."

After greeting the approaching teacher, Luo Haotian left with Luo Qiao.

The father and daughter first went to a state-owned restaurant to have lunch before parting ways.

Luo Haotian went back to his work while Luo Qiao prepared to take the bus to her master’s place, as they should be at home today being Sunday.

After getting off the bus and walking for a bit, she passed an alley and heard sounds of fighting. Initially she didn’t want to intervene, but then she heard someone say, "Is this kid even a man?"

"Stop wasting your breath on him; today, I want him to watch how I treat his sister," one said.

"Damn you, if you dare touch my sister today, I won’t let you off," the young voice retorted.

"Oh, I really want to see how you’re going to not let us go," another taunted.

"Today, I’m going to have your sister," one declared.

"I’ll fight you! If you don’t leave a way out for my sister and me, then we’ll all die together," the voice defied.

"Haha, Big Brother, look at this kid wanting to take us on, he’s really overestimating himself," someone laughed.

Luo Qiao crept into the alley and saw seven or eight hooligans surrounding a young boy and girl, with the boy always protecting his sister as the group laughed mockingly.

"Kid, stop your futile resistance. Our boss has taken a liking to your sister; it’s her good fortune, so don’t be ungrateful," they jeered.

The boy glared at them angrily, "Don’t think I don’t know who sent you, but don’t you dream of hurting my sister, not unless I’m dead."

"Heh, what does it matter if you know? Your existence blocks others’ paths. We’re just doing this for the money, so don’t blame us," they retorted.

"By the way, your stepmom said that if things go well today, your sister will be given to our boss," they added.

The leader gestured, and several people rushed forward. The boy was skilled, but overwhelmed by the numbers, he quickly began to falter.

Just as someone reached for the girl, Luo Qiao made her move. She threw several stones and the attacker went down instantly.

The leader felt something was off behind him, turned to see a girl standing at a distance: "And who might you be?"
