Chapter 471: Chapter 471 is simply shameless without limits

The people present no longer dared to make any indiscreet comments, and only now did they remember Old Lady Wu’s usual behavior. They couldn’t blame Zhou Guifang for being cautious; indeed, a situation like this could easily lead to being wrongly accused.

Old Lady Wu, seeing her grandson sweating profusely from the pain, urged, "Well then, take a look at him quickly. What are you waiting for?"

Zhou Guifang continued, "Let’s have everyone here bear witness. If my granddaughter can’t treat him, no one should blame Qiaoqiao later on."

Auntie Wu wanted to say something but was stopped by her daughter-in-law, who looked at Zhou Guifang, "Auntie Luo, rest assured, let your granddaughter have a look first. The child is in so much pain he can hardly bear it.

If something were to happen, we wouldn’t know how to explain it to the second child and his wife. We’d be troubled."

The eldest daughter-in-law of the Wu Family thought to herself that if Luo Qiao could cure the boy, they could save on medical expenses. The second child and his wife had been away for a few days and had left the child in the care of the family. If something really happened, when they came back, heaven and earth would be turned upside down.

Luo Qiao squatted down to examine the boy and then stated, "His lower leg is fractured and displaced."

Luo Qiao spoke to the Wu Family, "I’ll set the bone for him now, but it might be quite painful. You should get someone to prepare a few smooth, flat boards to use for stabilization afterwards."

Having said that, she gestured with her hands to indicate the size and shape of the boards needed, and the Wu Family’s eldest daughter-in-law quickly asked some neighbors to help find them.

After feeling around the boy’s leg for a while, Luo Qiao cautioned the boy, "You can’t climb that high again in the future. It’s too dangerous."

Old Lady Wu, frantic, said, "Stop dawdling. Don’t you see how much pain my grandson is in?"

While Old Lady Wu was speaking, there came a ’crack’ from the boy’s bones, and the Wu Family’s grandson let out a piercing scream.

Old Lady Wu, anxious, exclaimed, "What’s going on? What’s happened?"

As she spoke, she shoved Luo Qiao. Luo Qiao had just let go and was about to stand up when she was pushed off-balance by Old Lady Wu.

Fortunately, Luo Qiao had quick reflexes, and with the swift assistance of Grandma Zhou Guifang, she steadied herself. Annoyed, Luo Qiao said, "Do you think setting a bone back in place isn’t going to hurt? Are you trying to repay kindness with ingratitude?"

She glanced at the child on the ground and still kindly reminded, "You should use the wood to stabilize his leg, to prevent it from misaligning again. Take him to the hospital for a thorough checkup to ensure there are no other issues."

Planning to leave, Luo Qiao took hold of her grandmother, when Old Lady Wu called out, "Are you going to just leave like this? What about my grandson?"

Luo Qiao paused, "I am not your Wu Family’s personal doctor. If it wasn’t for the sake of the child, I would have set the bone back out of place myself."

Old Lady Wu, who was not used to being contradicted, responded angrily, "If something happens to my grandson, I won’t let you off the hook."

Zhou Guifang, upon hearing Old Lady Wu’s words, cursed, "What a shameless person! The Wu Family will soon be shunned by everyone because of you. Utterly disgusting and shameless, with everyone watching, all you do is talk nonsense."

The Wu Family’s eldest daughter-in-law was extremely frustrated with how quickly her mother-in-law offended others, "Auntie Luo, please don’t be angry. My mother-in-law is just worried about her grandson. Please don’t take it to heart. I apologize on her behalf."

Luo Qiao, with a cold expression, replied, "Save your apologies. If the Wu Family has any problems in the future, please don’t come to me. Even if you do, I won’t help. Last time your mother-in-law spoke ill of my family at Uncle Sun’s place. If it weren’t for the sake of the child, I wouldn’t have bothered lifting a finger."

After speaking, she continued walking with her grandmother, and the people around didn’t think Luo Qiao was wrong. It was clear that she had kindly come to help and ended up being mistreated. No one would be happy in her place.

Meanwhile, the other members of the Wu Family came over with a handcart, on which bedding had been laid. Some people were already helping stabilize the boy’s reset leg with wooden boards, and they carefully lifted the child onto the cart.

As the cart moved away, the onlookers began to discuss, "That old lady from the Wu Family really is a troublemaker. I’ve heard that the granddaughter from the Luo Family is quite skilled in medicine. If they had asked nicely, maybe they could have even saved the hospital fees."

"That granddaughter from the Luo Family sure has a good memory. Last time Auntie Wu indeed badmouthed the Luo Family right there at the entrance of Uncle Sun’s shop."
