Lu Yichen said, "You’re afraid that garden of yours won’t see any returns for two years. Just find someone to manage it and not let the land lie fallow; there’s no need to be in the fields every day now."

Luo Qiao laughed, "Who said my garden won’t see returns for two years? I’ve already planted fruits and vegetables on that hundred acres of land, and in a little over a month perhaps those greens can be harvested."

Lu Yichen commented, "Planting vegetables in between trees, that’s quite a creative idea, but not a bad one at all. Maybe it really will bring some returns."

As Luo Qiao walked towards the kitchen, she said, "Just wait and see, not only will there be profits, but I am also going to make sure it breaks even within the year."

Seeds nourished by the special ability outperform normal seeds in fruit bearing and mature faster, even growing better than those of others. When others’ plants are ready to be pulled up, hers continue to thrive lushly right up to frost.

She had already thought about it; as soon as it gets cold, she would start building warm sheds to grow off-season vegetables. She believed that by the end of this year, other villagers would follow suit.
